if i'm buying direct from the states (friend coming back), how am i suppose to claim the warranty? viewed MSI USA but not much info..

Does it come with 2 yrs limited(USA only), or 1 yr global ?
If i buy it via amazon.com and send it to my friend's place, the warranty will still be with MSI right?

thanks! smile.gif

It comes with 3 years local limited warranty or 1 year global/international warranty.

Thanks for answering for me Jeffrey tongue.gif

and yea, international warranty can be claimed here in Malaysia, you can call some of the MSI service center regarding the warranty. They'll ask you for the service tag number.

BTW, after using the laptop for a month+ i just realize something. They put all the stickers (Windows Code, Service Code..etc) inside the battery area.

Pros:
sticker wont fade
don't have to be afraid of ppl stealing the code

Cons:
Troublesome, have to take out the battery just to see the code n stuff sweat.gif

im not sure bout other brand, but i tried acer, dell, msi and toshiba..all of them had their stickers outside except this msi model biggrin.gif

ooo..i din noe bout that.

But i do own a previous gen of the MSI gaming laptop which is the GX620 which comes with AMD x2 processor and 9600gt, and from what i know, this gx660r is a huge improvement.

Built Quality and Heat are far better than their previous gaming laptop

BTW, Thanks mod for helping me removing the "flamer's", gassey, post smile.gif.

Well for such a spec, we can't expect the battery life to be good right? At most 2 hours I guess

I do agree with skylinerz, at the laptop weight..i find it really comfortable to carry out tongue.gif

and battery life, well i tried with their power saver eco mode with wireless on..it last me almost 2 hours..kinda decent if u ask me..don expect heavy battery life from such a specs tongue.gif

any it's 15.6"..not 17"

hey guys, its been quite some time.
pretty satisfied with my gx660r. smile.gif

i've been experiencing a problem with the speakers lately. while listening to music, sometimes the speaker makes weird noises / screeching sound. i'm guessing there are dust in it. how do i clean it?

Added on December 29, 2010, 9:43 pmjust a note, its happening almost every 5 mins when i play music.
