yea..amazingly, when i look at the MSI gx660r..it gives me this "it seems heavy" impression..after holding it in the hand..it's really light compare to most gaming laptop i own before.

I do agree that MSI have really good products..look at their other range of products like motherboard and graphic card..im using msi gc + motherboard on my old pc since 6 years ago? and it's still kicking! tongue.gif

6999 . I just opened everything up. Came with an Msi bag, Msi netbook, MSi Mouse and ASSASIN'S CREED 2 !!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! *goes crazy*
MSI got to me when I heard from my friend who bought one MSI laptop 5 years back. He tried all sorts of ways to destroy it so that he can buy a new one, but regardless of the measures that he took( excluding brute force), nothing worked. Which proves the incredible resilience that wooed me. Iphone with my gf -___ - upload pictas later. OMG. AWESOMe!

Added on March 11, 2011, 8:31 pmDoes anyone knows how to use the webcam in gt 680r? i press fn + f6, it just activates it, but how do i use it.. i cant even bring it up to see myself
*
for the webcam, let's say ur using MSN right now right, and u turn on ur webcam, u have to close ur MSN n re-open it smile.gif..troublesome but still ok..i love the webcam quality..really good IMO wink.gif

Hey,

I'm really interested in the GX660 and GX660r. I had two questions,

1) What is the pricing and availability of these two?
2) How is the warranty taken care of in M'sia? Also, How long is the warranty

I apologize if these answers have been answered in the forum already
*
Pricing is around RM5k+/-..if u got the $$ u can opt for GT680..powerful! biggrin.gif..bt the gx660r is already powerful too wink.gif..availability..only over at US sad.gif

warranty..suppose to be 2 year international warranty..this one i haven clarify with MSI malaysia =x..anyway, im trying to find a time slot for me to write a review for my gx660r..too busy wid uni works dry.gif

Ahh my apologies sir. You seem to have a breadth of information about MSI.

I have about a low to mid 3K budget, should I look elsewhere? Or are there still MSI laptops in this range? If so, I would love some suggestions.
*
there is MSI laptop within that range..the GX640..if im not wrong it's the 15" wan..good specs..but not sure if it will get hot..as it's an updated version frm my old gx630..or u can get the gt740..it's good and it wont get hot tat easily tongue.gif

QUOTE(Shiroi14 @ Mar 14 2011, 01:52 AM)
oic.....so what is ur laptop normal temperature? hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
normal temp? for my old msi gx630 is around 60+ as well..this one right now is around 48~50+ when gaming it's around 80+? which is consider good tongue.gif..and best of all it wont burn my palm! biggrin.gif

QUOTE(razorboy @ Mar 14 2011, 08:42 AM)
Not exactly. I just got to know because I have been chasing it down for a month or so tongue.gif . I suggest heading over to courts and taking a look at the GX640. If I have not mistaken, you can check a few pages back where some of them mentioned to be mid 3k.

Did u check the thread? Something called undervolting. Another one is, replacing the thermal compound? I myself wouldn't do it as I am not familiar with it. Do it at your own risk eh
*
replacing thermal compound is the best choice i guess. But it is dangerous, though i think you can purchase the thermal compound and ask MSI service centre to help u do the pasting.. not sure if they got help out though..cause i noe Asus Malaysia helps their user to paste the thermal compound for a price

i'm gonna post this again since no one saw it i guess?

recently, my gx660r is taking minutes to startup.. it stucks at msi screen for a minute or two before loading normally. help? i checked my startup programs, they're normal and should still be pretty fast to startup.
*
it's perfectly normal..don worry it's not hardware problem but possibly software problem wink.gif. You can try and reformat your laptop and you will notice your laptop is blazing fast tongue.gif.

i highly doubt it's wireless problem.

else you can have it check..or try speedtest.net

or both files are dl-ed at the same time? distance of laptop to wireless does affect too. Even slight position of the laptop to the wifi does matter. example.

my table can hold 2 laptop, but on my side when i use my wireless it's pretty fast but my friend who is beside me tends to be slower. Or maybe just my wireless sucks tongue.gif
