Bro voncrane,
Yes, very tempted to buy 55H7000 but still wait for best price, lowest so far was rm5599.
If I am buying H6400, I'll take the 60 incher. I think the price could be less than rm6k.
I like the H7000 slim bezel.
*
True, I already checked and found that 55" is just the right size for me. 60" & above for now would be overkill.

Now senheng offering samsung 50 uh7000 4k RM4199 with 5 yrs warranty. Which I find very good offer. Is it so?

The question to buy or not to buy a cheaper 4K TV keeps popping up & the majority of our answers is still the same (At least mine is). You are better off buying a great full HD or high-end 4K TV than an entry-level 4K TV that might become really sub-par in say 2 years max.

My tv keeps flickering on the top of the screen, is it because of the led tv or hdmi cable?
*
Tried switching cables & inputs? If its a smart TV then play something directly on it say via the internet or usb. If symptoms still persists, then time to call in the experts.

Court having sales, Samsung 48H6400 going for 2999 with extra 1 3D glass. Worth it?
*
If within your budget, then sure go ahead. But don't buy it cuz of the extra 3D glass, you'll probably end up not using it.

55H6300 Smart LED tv 4199
58H5200 LED tv 3799

was wondering if these 2 specs is similar aside from the smart and non smart feature? anyone own any of these model can comment on the PQ?

im using android box so smart feature is not required. but im focus more on the PQ. if the 6300 PQ is good i will still go for it eventhough got smart. but the 58" 5200 price is tempting. tongue.gif
*
You are pitching a Series 5 vs a series 6 TV and asking for similarities? No can't do bro.. The H6300 is undeniably better than the H5200 model on specs alone. See comparisons yourself. As I often advice, take a usb drive containing test files, select the same picture mode on both TV sets (hopefully the store guys haven't bothered to mess with any) and compare pq with your own eyes.

on specs alone i cant jusitfy much bro..aside from the clear motion rate 100 vs 200. other than that its similar. (aside from the smart features)
*
Mega Contrast vs None (This is probably sales gimmick, but then its series 6 vs 5)
DTS Premium Sound 5.1 vs DTS 2.0
4 HDMI vs 2 HDMI ports (Android box, Hypptv/Astro, HT/Blueray Player, Game, laptops, Digicams, etc. Notice how suddenly 2 ports isn't future proof. Sure you can get a HDMI switcher, but native is always best)
3 USB vs 1 USB port (Sure, u can always use a usb hub but native is better)
Ethernet (LAN) vs None (IMHO, Much better for streaming Netflix & HULU constantly in 1080P, cuz majority of media boxes don't support full 1080P)
Wifi Direct vs None
HDMI ARC support vs None (This + the extra HDMI ports are major points if you have a ARC supported HT or intend to buy one in the future)
Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) vs None (Smart remote control between Anynet+ enabled devices)

Sure you aren't interested in the smart tv features but that doesn't mean you ditch a better set. The fussy "smart" part you don't need can always be turned off. Mainly refusing their terms and conditions & not connecting it to the internet severely restricts its operations. Ultimately the decision on which falls on you, hence ur budget & asking you take media files and play on both.

hmmm....thanks for highlighting the HDMI part ARC/CEC part. i mislook on that

DTS im not sure if usefull or not coz im using and AVR to decode DTS
HDMI port all im using the port in AVR
yes. more USB is better
Ethernet (due to smart tv) i dont bother coz im using Media Player (Minix)

i think i will look at the 6300 series smile.gif
*
Glad i could help... biggrin.gif Used to use a Minix Neo X7 (Pal grabbed it), but now looking at the newly released Minix Neo X8-H Plus. Missing XBMC amongst other apps badly. Gonna be patient till early next year though, in case there's hints of a better box & also give early adopters enough time to really test the device fully. So for now, its the native smart apps, hypptv & downloaded media files. Yeah, with good speakers and a decent AVR doing the decoding, you are better off getting your audio from there.

is this an OS?
Can the other 4 units of samsung tv access the same PC?

Plex Media Server
It's not an OS. Basically, you install the app on a supporting device and it's server software on your PC. Media can then be streamed.

Hi guys, is Lazada a good place to buy TVs? For those who have bought their TVs from Lazada, any problems/issues?
*
Better you go to a reputable physical shop, at least can test & if satisfied, then only pay. Plus easier to claim warranty, rather than call Lazada which then contacts the third party seller, who then contacts say samsung. Just an example.

Does anyone here know how come I am not able to find UA48H6340 on Samsung's website or on any local electrical shop website, besides Sen Heng?
*
Maybe cuz it's not officially sold & supported in Malaysia by Samsung? I've heard of the H6350 though. If your budget allows, take a look at the H6400. Picked one up earlier and after some adjustments, PQ is much better. Some advice, when testing, switch to movie mode and disable Samsung's motion bla bla, most people either don't see or care about the "soap opera effect" but I do.

Maybe.. most search results are in Thai, maybe it hasn't arrived here or smetg. H6400 is a 3D one right? If I don't need the 3D feature, is the better PQ worth the additional cost, about RM500 extra? (just like people saying that even if you don't need the smart feature, get one because it has better PQ)

TQ for your testing advice. They sound too techie for my comprehension, I'll pass your notes over to my bf for him to test  tongue.gif
*
Yeah, the H6400 has the 3D feature included. I was faced with the same dilemma as you, but decided to go with the H6400 rather than the H6350. Purely cuz the former has a lot of positive reviews online compared to the latter. Word out is that they both share the same panel & so pq is expected to be similar, so you might luck out there and save some RM as well smile.gif. Try to see if you can test both sets side by side with the same movie file or simply go with the one you feel has better pq cuz at the end, it's still just a medium-type TV. OLED? Now, that's the stuff.. smile.gif

Bro voncrane,

U bought the H6400? What was the size and price?
I am still considering 55H7000, 60H6400 or 65H6400. I like to have bigger size tv that i can afford but the most important is the picture quality.
I read review saying picture quality for H7000 and H6400 almost similar. Hard to decide tho.
*
Yeah, pulled the trigger on the 55H6400 (RM4850 including a 5 year extended warranty) as the 55H7000 price simply refused to come down to an acceptable price point, besides it's as you noticed, some reviews claim their pq is quite similar & so bought it n quite satisfied after adjustments. For me, a 55 inch TV is just the right amount of big without being to overwhelming. Then there's the issue of watching upscaled SD content (mainly some TV channels), the bigger the screen, the more crappy quality your eyes has to suffer.. smile.gif. IMHO, I'd go for the 55H7000 over the other 2 sizes due to the sole reason of avoiding buyer's remorse later on.

Maybe, still not within my 5k max limit for a TV atm + I got tired of waiting. There does come a point where the price simply won't fall any lower.

Hi voncrane, does your H6400 work with a wireless keyboard and mouse? I've been told by Samsung customer service that both H5552 and H6400 aren't compatible
*
I'm unsure as I haven't tested it. Not like I browse web-pages on my TV and using the new smart remote is pretty efficient even when it comes to typing search terms in say the Netflix or Hulu Plus app (Both apps auto-suggest available titles as you type). For YouTube videos, i simply search on my phone/tablet & "push" it to the TV. Pretty fast & easy, like chromecast. Same with mirroring my smartphone screen. According to the manual, the TV does support usb/bluetooth keyboards and mice.

Edit: Tested my PC's Ranger Wireless Keyboard 419 With Optical Mouse 2.4GHz RF on the TV. Works perfectly, no setup required, was able to browse around the menus, launch the web browser app, type URLs, click links and scroll up & down using the mouse wheel. So that definitely works. smile.gif

Thanks for the heads-up. Sounds really easy. I'd prefer to use a keyboard though, maybe I spend too much time on my phone and don't want to hold it anymore while watching tv haha. Anyway, I was at Harvey Norman and Samsung centre yst, both said that the tv works with Logitech devices. Wonder what does Logitech have that the others don't...

Back to the H6340 (Sen Heng exclusive model), based on my conversation with Samsung customer service helpline, the H6340 has the following advantages over the H5552:

- motion flow 200 (H5552 = 100)
- extra hand gestures
- works with wireless mouse and keyboard (H5552 works too, with Logitech)

But... the Sen Heng exclusive model doesn't work with LTE

In short, H6340 doesn't seem to have much extra compared to the H5552?
*
I re-edited my post. not just Logitech devices are supported. Got the Ranger Keyboard off Groupon sometime last year and its compatible. Usually, as long as the device adheres to USB Plug & Play standards, requires no additional drivers installation/limited to a certain OS, then should be compatible with the TV. True, its much easier typing out with the keyboard as opposed to reaching for the phone etc.. I'm using this current method now cuz previously there was an android box connected to the TV and a Touchpad+Keyboard combo connected to that via bluetooth (Perfect). Getting a new box, as the old was is no longer around so for now, just limit viewing to downloaded rips, Netflix, Hypptv & Youtube. IMO, purchasing a TV set that's not "officially" supported by the manufacturer is asking for trouble. Can you confirm warranty claims handling? LTE connection to the TV? Ethernet cable works just fine.

I see.. after I've gotten my tv, I'll come back and ask you what box you're getting biggrin.gif

When I rang Samsung, the girl rattled off a list of models including that Sen Heng exclusive one. I asked if Samsung Malaysia provides support for that model as well as warranty, she said yes. So I guess that's official.

But is getting an 'unusual/rare' model advisable?

Oh yeah it has an additional HDMI and USB port too.
*
Sure, can discuss that in the "Android Box" thread.. biggrin.gif . Well, if the Samsung rep says its covered then guess you are good. Try to get it in writing either via email from Samsung Malaysia or on the original receipt issued by Seng Heng. Overkill? Yes, but better safe than sorry. An additional HDMI port and USB can prove useful, but really depends on how many devices you intend to connect.

hi,
i just bought a new samsung smart tv. The remote control does not have a mute button on it. not even on screen remote extension. Anyone figure out a way to mute ur samsung smart tv?
*
Err, you sure you have an original samsung remote as it surely has a mute button. Is yours the new small sized pointy-smarty samsung remote? The mute button is on the left side.
Edit: If you've got a smartphone with an infrared feature, there are apps you can use to control. Though your best bet is to actually go out and get a proper samsung TV remote.
