So I'd like to know the experiences of those who have successfully claimed warranty on their device. Which retailer(s) offer the best service, especially in terms of speedy fix or even better, 1 to 1 product replacement? As I really don't mind paying extra for superb after sales service. Examples HM or Courts Malaysia.

Yes sometimes we need to pay a  little bit different to get a better support . I have slashed out Onking an SengQ , Seng Heng out from my list. The sales support is totally none. Always remember there's 2 side of the coin. A good salesman may not be the one that good in customer service.

I saw this jintex online shop claimed to be professional in customer support. And another thing, a good service in Appliance Shop have nothing to do with the Manufacturer policy claim and after sales service.

Most important in service is On-Site Technician servicing. You call their service center and they will arrange someone to inspect the TV in your home especially the big TV but i doubt they have such service yet. And if they have someone online or telecall support that provides live support , that should be better instead of a receptionist who passes the line and some lazy tech who can't speak a bit longer in the phone to find out the problem. I believe with the Smart TV technology, more and more callers will be facing more problems and troubleshooting.

Thanks for sharing. For now I'm considering between Harvey Norman and Courts Malaysia. Both branches i visited in kl have excellent in-store staff, very helpful and informative, and both staffs claiming their extended warranty covers literally everything including full product/1:1 replacement. Naturally, I'm a bit skeptical since it could all be just sales talk simply to close the deal. Trying to avoid shelling out "much" extra cash when i can very easily purchase from a smaller store with manufacturer's warranty.

I went to Harvey Norman sale at The Curve Mutiara Damansara yesterday and saw the promotion for Samsung 55H7000 for RM6199.00. Is this price worth it or better find from online sellers which the lowest is one seller from Penang.
(Edit: RM5499.00)
Is there a better TV overall than the Samsung 55H7000 now?

Thank you guys....
*
Is there a better TV than the H7000? For sure, yes. You only just have to look at the higher end models with much higher price tags. Meanwhile, mind sharing the contact info or website link for the penang seller. Thanks. Harvey Norman prices are always higher than rrp

For flat screen, H7000 is Samsung's highest end non-4k below the curved HU8500 series.
For the price of rm5499, I think is cash payment. Credit card payment, not sure.
I am also waiting for HU7000 price reduce or better offer.
*
Yeah, probably just full cash payment with standard 2 year warranty. HM's price possibly includes their store 5 years warranty. Worth it?

Need to ask about smart tv, is our smart function running when we are only watching tv, this smart tv seems a bit hotter than normal tv thats why i suspect the smart function might be operating. Can any sifu enlighten.tq
*
Hmm. Well, there's some degree of smartness "always" running in the background. Video & audio processing etc but shouldn't run so hot. What's your TV model & how hot do you reckon it is? Warm to touch? Yes, almost burns palms hot? It shouldn't.

But I saw 55HU8500 curved at HN Pg.
I believe flat also available.
Is it a good time to buy an UHD tv? Would it has better features in future?
I also tempted to buy.
*
Depends largely on your acceptable budget and if you have/don't have plans to switch TVs for a couple of years. What you have to know about tech is that, even before the latest tech is pushed out for sale, work is still ongoing for future tech. So basically, whatever tech you buy today is already "old" tech. Innovation/improvements leads to yearly sales & profits for the manufacturers. Personally, I'd hold off, just get a really good 1080p TV.

I do agree.
That is why my target was the 55H7000.
Hope 55H7000 still have stock,if not,55HU8500 is the best option.
Btw,saw Lazada has 55H7000. Is it safe to buy from Lazada? Read quite some complaints on Lazada services.
*
I wouldn't mind making small items purchases from Lazada, definitely COD option so I can check for unacceptable defects on the spot before making payment. Its difficult and way more time consuming to on the spot fully test out a relatively expensive TV set, while the delivery man awaits cash (Further checking reveals COD on TV sets largely not allowed). Then there's the issue after sales service, Lazada is made up of different companies selling items and so imagine the communication problems that'll ensue.

QUOTE(rajlesta00 @ Oct 10 2014, 10:18 AM)
I will never buy TV from Lazada. Not sure if they offer 7days exchange policy if customers received faulty or defective unit. It is a bit risky.

I wanted to buy UA50HU7000 so badly..went to Harvey norman and saw a display unit. Picture quality was perfect. Then I went to several shops to compare astro channels between FHD and UHD..almost no difference at all..I dont know but to at least to my eyes the upscaling is not as what they mentioned... maybe it is just a marketing gimmick.

Anyway after consideration i ended up buying H6400 not because of 3d but because motion rate 400..it has  120hz real refresh rate (400 is just virtual rate). I spend less time watching tv..and 90% of time we depends on astro channels... sometimes  download & watch movies. Really I don't have time to look for 4k and blu ray. Not realistic.

I was offered good price in one of electrical shop rm2999. Its new box..we opened and test it on the spot before payment. One lady in penang is selling 2899 in lowyat forum. But you know....

Good luck guys...
*
This!! I'm also a bit skeptical of mid-range TVs upscaling even 1080p content & can't imagine how SD content will look. Will have to take a USB with vids to test that out. Non-Astro/Hypptv subscriber here, thanks to XBMC & others, do a lot of streaming and I grab a high bit-rate encode when a movie needs to be added to my collection. I still think units on display mostly tell what the store wants you to see to push sales. Congrats on the H6400, at that price, should be the 48" right? if its the 55", pls pm me sales contact smile.gif

uh.... only interested in the 46'' for that model (probly should have mentioned that earlier my bad) >_>; el ol el. Also rm5599 is definitely out of my intended budget  cry.gif
This is my shortlist for hdtvs i'm interested in

UA46H7000
UA48H6400
UA40H6400

By the way anyone have any reviews for TAN BOON MING, PJ samsung reseller ? i saw they had a demo in a shopping mall last week. Wondering if anyone bought from them before,  hmm.gif  any comment on their pricing, warranty etc ?
PS: the h6400 does use regular micro dimming, rather than the micro dimming pro on the h7150. also not sure why different sources saying is edge lit, and others say is direct lit  rclxub.gif one review assures that with the right settings, this isn't really an issue that would be a deal breaker.
http://www.techradar.com/reviews/audio-vis...#articleContent
*
Interesting choices, probably the best in their price range at the moment judging from reviews. I've looked up both sets & convinced that the H6400 is direct-lit, while the H7000 boasts an edge-lit LED panel. As for TBM (as a whole), a visit to their Facebook page should tell you what most think of their services. But hey, the penang guys might be more capable.

Yup, provided you are buying the right model plus Samsung 2 years warranty, that's a good price. For example, the same TV was being sold for RM4000 when it initially came out a few months back. So yeah, grab em.

Sifu here, wanna ask for pro and con for this two samsung led tv
H6400 and H6800.....now choosing between this two model.

*
I've never fancied a curved screen cuz its problematic to wall mount and most likely prone to even worse viewing angles than usual, so unless you plan on having everyone sitting directly in front of the TV, not interested in wall mounting & you love the design. I'd say go for the H6400 & if within your budget, just grab the H7000. Better an entry-level 7 series than end of the 6 series.
See comparisons.

I am not sure u know  about curve tv. The wall mount is as easy as normal wall mount plus viewing angle is even better  than normal panel tv upscale 4k from blu ray is also fantastic except the price.
*
I do. Merely used the wrong words to push my message across (compliments of posting while sleepy). You are right, it can be wall mounted & of course the pricier models output & upscale 1080p content brilliantly. My previous post was talking abt the pq of the H6800 in particular.

Hmm, seems reasonable but try to beat the price down a bit or shop around for a cheaper deal. Cuz for an extra rm300-500, you can get the 55H6400. Which i think is a better buy. Unless you don't care for 3D, Bluetooth (stuck with IR remote), and a bunch of extra stuff. Same 2 years warranty applies.

i will race you  icon_idea.gif i too would like to investigate this further as the pricing is very nice  drool.gif

Haha, we see who gets there first ... tongue.gif I still think its a typo cuz it looks like the "3" in the final price was modified to show "2", but hey, maybe they are feeling quite generous.

Edit: Also owners of HDMI (ARC) enabled Samsung TVs, is it true that the TV can only push out stereo 2.0 sound to a HT/AVR, when receiving audio from other devices say like a media box playing a movie with 5.1 etc surround sound? So must use optical cable from either the TV or directly from the media box to transmit lossless audio and full surround to a supporting HT/AVR?

Usually a price drop isn't 1k straightaway. Anyway, will find out soon enough. I've read that article from cnet and other sources & quite understand how ARC works. Here's an excerpt that made me ask my initial question;
QUOTE
It doesn't always work, at least, not perfectly. Turns out, many TV manufacturers haven't implemented ARC to send any and all audio via HDMI. Want to hear 5.1 surround from your receiver? ARC might not let you do it. Many TVs are two-channel (2.0) only via ARC.

Will search for an e-manual of the TV interested in & hopefully its ARC implementation methods is included.

Same advice, I'd skip the 4K TVs for at least another 3 years, unless your budget allows you to buy the very high-end ones. Then sure, pull the trigger, otherwise, simply save $$ & get a great full HD set. Wait for more improvements in 4K tech.
