Hi all,

Would like some feedback / advise from existing Samsung LED TV users...

I'm upgrading my LG 42" plasma to Samsung 46" LED TV..

Could not decide on either Series 5 or Series 6...

What is the Series 6 SMART TV thinggy ??

Is the extra $$$ worth it to go for Series 6 ??

I do not really need 3D but if the picture quality is much better, then it could be justified..

Thanks

Now Samsung has package offers.

- 46" series 6 free dongle and phone for RM5.5K
- 46" series 7 free glasses and galaxy tab for RM6.5K

Does the package value for money? Need some thoughts smile.gif

Is a general Samsung offer.

http://www.samsung.com/my/smartview/?pid=m...rtview_20111019

Shops will be able to provide at cheaper price.

Anyway 1 of the shop sales say that LG is better than Samsung and asking me to get LG.

Not too sure if that's true.

Hi all Samsung TV gurus here,
I am planning to get myself a Samsung UA32D4000N 32"
or UA32D5000PR LED Tv.
so which one is a better deal? what's the prices for both of them??
Is the display clear enough to play dvd,bd?
and how about playing normal tv programmes like 8TV?
I will be using it to watch dvd and hd movies plus ps3 gaming..
Thanks

Thanks For the links, I tot Galaxy IIs Phone.. Haha

The Series 6 is out of my 5k budget n I already hv my HTPC hook up to my plasma, so the 3D n Smart TV multimedia features is redundant for me...

My opinion on picture quality, if u do not compare side by side , we could not tell the differences ...

Stan, I just recently upgraded my LCD as well. Here's my take:

1. Smart TV is unnecessary. Its much better to have a Bluray Player that comes with online access features. At least the player has the audio output via HDMI to enjoy the lossless sounds. LCD Tv that comes with smart or DLNA features does not so far has lossless audio output for you to play it thru the AV Amp. The TV may come with digital (s/pdif) audio output, but still it is not lossless.

2. If Smart TV is necessary, try to get those TV that comes with Audio Return Channel (ARC) enabled HDMI output. Perhaps (as I am not sure) they can allow lossless audio output redirect to the AV Amp. But your AV Amp will need to have ARC enabled HDMI output as well.

3. I compared side by side Samsung 5 series with Toshiba XL700 in the shop. With Samsung being a few hundred ringgit more at that time. I ended up chose the 46' Toshiba Regza XL700 2D TV. You may want to have a look at Toshiba model. They produce their own LCD panel in Japan and comes with 1 year insurance too. Toshiba newest model is WL series I think, which comes with 3D.

chanhin, Plex TV Clients works on Samsung & LG Smart TV.
Install PlexMedia Server on a PC/Server - Windows/MAC/Linux
http://plexapp.com/

Install Plex Widget for Samsung Smart TV
http://plexforsamsung.pbworks.com/w/page/4...20Plex%20Widget

PC & MAC Client = Plex Media Centre. This is for the PC/MAC to access to the Plex Media Server to stream the video contents.
I have been trying to get this to work all morning but still not success, hope you can help.

I managed to get the app on my smart hub by entering the ip on the link you gave and following the instructions then downloaded the app on my pc, how do I get the app on my pc to work through the tv? Is the app on the pc needed if i use the ip that was given?

gregghawes,
Install the plex media server (PMS) for your Pc. Setup the PMS and link your movies collections.

PMS

Thanks dude but doesn't this just play movies you already have on your hard disk? I can use allshare for that isnt it? I want the thing like you got in the photos where you can stream movies/tv shows.

This is much better compare to All Share which is very basic. If you have a huge movies collection Plex is better. Did you try the Ent. Bay in Smart Hub? a lot of Live Concert video streaming.

No not tried that yet, I always download big bang theory, two and a half men etc so I was looking for a way to stream it using an app instead, I have been trying all week to change my region on the tv to usa so I could use netflix but haven't been successful there either. Thats why I quite like the idea of what you are showing in your pictures.

Hi guys,

I am using 46D5000 and facing some media playback issue last nite. I found my TV cannot detect the blueray ISO files.

Can anyone help to resolve it? Is it due to the >20GB file size issue? Or I have to un-ISO them into native files before my TV can read them?

It is kind of sad as the media compability is really high on this TV... until I face this ISO file issue... cry.gif

Can I know why buy the V10 since you already has such a good TV with good media compatibility? Hope you can give me some reasons... As I need them to justify those dedicated players...

So it mean basically convert them into lossless MKV and it will play the file, right? Can message me the software you use? Can it take BD ISO file and convert into MKV?
