Hi guys...been shopping for a TV lately, and came across Samsung D6600 at Sen Heng....400Hz, and rilli can see the difference in fluidity of motion when Avatar was playing on screen....salesman claim this D6600 is EXCLUSIVE to Sen Heng and SenQ only...which seems to be true, as so far i've not seen this model in other stores (HN, ESH, Legend, etc.)....i've made a search online and it's more expensive and higher range than D6400....

So far, the prices i see in HN is around RM4499 for D6400....but at Sen Heng and Senq, the D6600 model's RRP is RM4999, but Sen Heng / SenQ is giving a whopping RM1.5K discount for the D6600....they dun seem to sell D6400, since the D6600 is supposedly higher range and cheaper than D6400...both have free 2 glasses, and Smart TV included....furthermore, D6600 has built in Wifi, no need for dongle...

now, the magic question is, is the deal too good to be true? seems legit, but just puzzled why would anyone go for D6400, if they know about the availability of D6600??

just sharing my thoughts....and btw, i got myself a SHARP 40LE830M yesterday....haha!! PQ is superb...dun need Smart TV function, so save up a bit, didn't go for D6600....cheers!

After months of headache to choose, i finally bought UA40D5500 last weekend. How do i know if the TV is running at 100hz? Does it depend on the media that i watch?

No warranty on backlight bleeding or hotspots, by commercial standard they are considered "normal". Its quality control issues, not all TV of the same model is the same, so test your luck. Its quite common on LED backlight sets, uniformity issues.

I see..thanks for the info..guess i'll have to live with it..now just hope to calibrate my TV so that the light bleed will become less visible.

Full screen movies you can't notice but those movies with 2 black bars..u can notice it's quite disturbing..

Any guides on how to calibrate your TV? Digital Video Essentials good enough?

The "bleeding" is due differences of light intensity coming from the arrays of WLEDs. You cant expect all bulbs have the same brightness intensity, some even varies in color spectrum. White LEDs phosphor will wear and produce more violet into the color spectrum.

perhaps the WLEDs are more uniform at certain level of brightness.

-Try increase brightness and reduce contrast,
-reduce or increase backlight see which is better.
-reduce gamma level
-or probably zoom out the black bars

Thats a plus to CCFL LCD TV, with only 1 bulb tube, you get good uniform brightness and color.

over 100 Hz TV, IMO the movie played will look like 'plastic' (? too smooth playback in stead of standard movie 24 fps). hmm.gif

Frame interpolation feature can be turned off, the 24hz movie will be displayed at 4:4 pulldown at 96Hz, depends on the spec, some uses 72Hz 3:3 pulldown.

The best is 120Hz TV at 5:5 pulldown at 120Hz.

The content frame rate is maintained at 24hz but with high refresh rate.

So it depends on the media? Playing a game console and connecting a bluray player is a whole different thing right? Coz i think my 40D5500 didnt have the option to choose the 100hz thing. Or maybe ive been conned by Samsung sad.gif
