I have finally got the replacement panel from samsung earlier! they way the warranty for my 6200 goes is senheng will call samsung for the parts, samsung will call you and send someone to check the TV. The guy from samsung will look into the issue and after a week of waiting, I got my replacement part at last. To say the least, I think it was a good service from senheng but the bad thing was it took a week for my panel to be replaced. Well as long as my TV works im happy with it.

Oh btw, I went to sengheng yesterday to checkout the TVs they're selling as im a big fan, I saw sharp, sony, samsung and panasonic side by side. All LED TVs and I have to say that samsung has the best picture quality. that's my opinion though! smile.gif

I have not done such side-by-side comparison. Generally speaking, I can not stand Sony's color being too artificial. Panasonic is softer but more natural. Samsung is somewhere in between.

Hey, anyone know the price difference between UA556200 and UA46200?
Was deciding whether to buy 6200 or 6900 also, 6900 got internet tv but i don't think i'll use it? and from the official site they say the 6200 don't have wireless remote, what the hell does that mean? haha.

hi im planning to get a 40" samsung 6200 or 6900. In the other forums, (not in malaysia) there is a lot of talk on the led tv making movies look like "soap opera" i.e. looking fake, too sharp, handycam effect etc.. the tv is however very good for news, docu, gaming..

do any of the owners have this issue? and is there anything that can be done to counter it? Most discussion pin the blame on the 120hz thing (m not too sure what they mean)

Thanks!!

the pitfall in comparing set in shop is

1. lighting is totally different from our house. unless the sets set up in special dark room.

2. the tv picture menu is 9/10 already tinkered with contracts set to maximum to achieve "clear" picture under shop's lighting.

my advise is to politely asked for the remote of each tv thats in your list. set it back to normal/standard/etc and compare again.

i have one experience where i asked for the remote and the salesman refused by saying sorry, no remote. he had a chore somewhere and went off, so while i was viewing the tv, saw the remote just above the blu ray. took it and press menu. contrast was full at 100. he saw me and came straight back so i said, i like tv and want to check a few things, its ok right?
he shrugged. next i said , hmm you set contrast at 100 ? thats standardlah..was his answer.

as anfieldude always said, its best to make an informed decision. thats including checking back what they are making you to see.

happy hunting.

hi guys, need some advice. hopefully anybody can help. thanks.
not much of a problem actually, but i just needed some idea of the workaround.
currently i am watching MKVs file using the built in ledtv player. to get sound from HT set, i simply use an optical cable connected from the ledtv to my old yamaha rx-v420 (no hdmi support)
well end month am planning to upgrade to onkyo 608. with this new receiver, i want to connect using hdmi for both audio n video. at same time, i will connect a ps3 to the onkyo receiver as well.
my question is, do i need to connect the hdmi to input on the receiver n make the output back to the ledtv? will it work?
or probably the most suitable question is, what should i do ya? hopefully somebody can enlighten me. thanks smile.gif

if not then i will still use the optical for the sound solution for the built in tv media player n use hdmi for the ps3

This is interesting and now that you mentioned it, I sort of agree. When I was deciding on which TV, I looked at Plasma and LED.

The Samsung LED was showing Transformer 2 and picture was super super sharp. It was very very impressive at first look. But when they have this close up shot of the actor's face, I felt it is so sharp that it does not look real, more like artificially drawn video game character.

Then I looked at Panasonic Plasma. It was definitely not as sharp. A bit sharper may be nicer but the color is much more natural. Then when you think again, when you look at your real human friend, it wasn't LED type of sharpness either. So at the end of the day, I conclude that Plasma is definitely more natural in color and also in sharpness so IMO, a better choice for movies (not cartoon).

Ya, sometime I still hope Plasma can be a little bit sharper.

Thanks to all the LED/LCD Guru's out there for your time regarding this.

Samsung LA40C530 or LG 42LD460/42LD450?
1) Mainly used for mom seeing astro/astro beyond
2) Used for Animations from 480p-720p(Using External non powered HDD or portable HDD), would be great with 1080p as well
3) Contemplating on using a hd media player instead of built in..need recommendations for this...
4) Can I use HDMI connecting from laptop/notebook to the TV? Would it burn my graphics card in the long run?
5) Should i go LED technology instead? Since its newer and new confirms the availability of spare parts in the coming 5-10years?...
6) Really hoping for good quality audio for the paid price as I'm really fussy when it comes to audio quality.

Really having a headache choosing as this is my first time contemplating over purchasing a LED/LCD/Plasma TV... My main focus is for it to last a long and reasonable time in both terms of durability and repair(Spare part availability)

Thanks alot!

also about UA40C5000 for samsung and corresponding LED tv within its price range?

Planning to get it before Chinese New year..
