Don't give up..you can do it! Try to relax...sometimes..when you are stressed about the output...it will give you lesser...I know it's not easy not to be stressed..but try to just take your mind off pumping..while pumping. It may help.

Your MIL is very lucky to have a DIL like you you and very very lucky we arent' her DIL as I would definitely wage a war!
I think it's about time for you to be firm. Especially letting your husband know and saying that this is your child..not hers.

Heheh..no no...not expecting. I don't think I'm gonna try for another one. Everything is getting expensive and I want to provide the best for my child..so if i get another child, I doubt i can provide the best....unless it's fated lar On the other hand...i do wish i can get a girl..but looking at my husband's genes...the chances for a girl is pretty low. I scared if i get another boy..i die..and my mom already warned me..if i get another one..i have to quit (hence the providing best reason). (I once dreamed that I have 4 boys! 4!! gosh! hahahah)

I'm not too sure about avocado...for me..i tried was root vege (carrot/sweet potato) and apple.
Added on March 22, 2011, 11:56 amsbux...you have given your best to provide the most nutritious milk to your baby...I know it's sad that you can't continue but at this point, it's the best for both you and your baby...which is equally important.

I have always BF on demand even till now. Even though baby has started solids, milk is still the main source of his diet. Then when he reaches 1 year..then..probably can start slowly cutting down the frequency. However, for me..it was still the same. I'm a walking milk machine when i'm at home.. and also a source to ease my son's boredom..hahah

nicKit..even though baby is on solid, they still rely on milk for most of the nutrients. Coz their solid intake is lesser than...say a 1 yr old toddler. Hence, milk is still their main meal.
Now..i pump once a day..just about 4-5oz. My son is slowly taking FM but I try to give him other source of calcium like yoghurt and oats. Fresh milk..he used to like it but after 2-3 months..he rejected it. I used to give him Dutch Lady Fresh Milk. I know some moms gave the Australian Farmhouse...never tried that.
Added on March 23, 2011, 9:43 amIn case you were wondering, before 6 months, i'd usually pump 4 times a day (once before I go to work and 3 times at work) on the dot. After 6 months, i cut down the pumping session about 3 times (1 time at home and twice at work). After 1 year, I cut down to once a day (I would normally bf before i go to work, and pump 1 time after lunch). Now, still at once a day but at a later time after work (coz breast is slightly full).

Oh..yes..and cheese..but I only started giving dairy (cheese & yoghurt) after he reached 1 yo (to be on safe side). It's the same time that i started giving fresh milk. nicKit...your body doesn't stop producing milk..It's not like if you pump out all..there's no more milk. Of coz you can't get a full 3-4 oz straightaway but there is some milk as your body is still producing it. And do remember, babies tend to suckle even better than the pump..some more when the baby is older..their 'suction' is better Added on March 23, 2011, 11:01 amI don't feel my breast as full as when i was fully bf. where did you move to? your parents' place? kekekek..how long will you be at your 'temp' place? Maybe you can slowly tell your hubby..that it's a good move...stay on your own..don't need to depend on his parents as you can handle on your own

urrm...say..that you don't want to 'burden' your MIL further as she's busy doing house work and cooking for the family..so..you only take this little task in hoping to minimize her burden However, please be prepared that she will say that your baby must eat porridge...and further condemn if you want to prepare those 'mat salleh' style puree. It's ok if she gives porridge...as we all grew up with that..but just minimise on the salt intake...if possible don't add salt. Some babies may like porridge..some just don't (like my son). Even till now..two days ago, he went with my hubby to visit my MIL (thankfully it was during my working day ) and of all things, she cooked porridge..so ended up my son didn't quite have a good dinner. This happens when in-laws don't even bother to know about their grandchild's likes and dislikes. So...that's my story on my in-laws.

no plain dairy milk is because of the enzyme in it that may not agree to a baby's tummy...something like that.
And when i say fresh milk..i don't mean the real fresh milk from the cow which is not pasteurized coz that's very dangerous to babies and toddlers. It's always safer to get pasteurized milk.
Yes..milk only to be introduced after 1yo.

tell her...just to give your baby till 1 year. after 1 year, they can eat whatever we eat. But milk still need to be given in between of meals. I'm sure she has given milk too to your hubby. You can start giving suggestion to your hubby now..rather than when the time comes. Try out the reason i told you earlier..so that at least..you get to control something. And about bf after 6 months..you can still bf..just bring him into the room..i'm sure your MIL won't be seeing whereever you go rigth? unless she does lar..then susah. Added on March 23, 2011, 1:58 pmHave you asked your hubby if you guys rent somewhere else? stay on your own..but..near his family.. ..reason with him..so that if there's any emergency..can always call his mommy This post has been edited by phythia79: Mar 23 2011, 01:58 PM
