syd, got free storage bags n bottles with the purchase of spectra 3 promo... so it's not a problem... just the fridge is common fridge where it's all packed wif lots n lots n lots of food until kenot close type... even the freezer... here only got one small fridge like the hotel type... so kenot keep long... janice, i just made a comment to my hb that we should utilise my mum's fridge... but we only go back once a week... imagine the hassle of going back n fro although it's abt 30 mins if no traffic jam... i've tot of getting a freezer for my own use but that's a separate cost n there's absolutely no place to put in our room (we stay in my in-laws house)... i really really wanna buy freestyle or pump in style but due to budget i got spectra instead... oh well...

syd, *hugs hugs* i'm out of creativity of storing it... n i'm always counting "i'm going back to work soon... going back to work soon..." but then i'll tender my letter when i get back... still, i do need a place to store them rite? just in case... like wat janice said... wat happen if i fall sick or unable to breastfeeding temporarily? sigh... i think i should have seal all the numbers n measurements on the bottles coz i keep watching how much i've pumped... it's getting lesser day by day... today only 1.5oz per session... there's a session where i only get a little more than 1 oz... shouldn't have seen them arghhh~!! wat else i can do before i reach for fenugreek n the soya drink? relax? done... played sudoku on my phone while pumping... should b relaxing enuf... have baby smell/photo? done... baby is just beside me or i'm feeding him on one arm n the other pumping...

Never hurts to have spare - if somehow you need to be outside home (like go shopping for a while), people who're taking care of baby can reheat the milk instead of going back to formula. Btw if you fall sick, you should still be breastfeeding to build baby's immunity. Unless it's something serious like HIV or medications that will be harmful to baby. One tip I learnt from experienced pumpers - pump religiously. Think about it like a leaking tyre - you need to pump to keep the tyre fully inflated - once you stop pumping your milk, it will even take longer time to go back to ideal milk flow. And drink lots of water

roughly how many times to pump? i read every 3 hrs... then again, baby feed abt 8-10 times rite? so pump day then nite once? i pump abt 3-4 times per day abt 2-3 hrs separate but not pumping at nite coz baby wants to nurse to sleep... these days i dun feel the extreme pain of engorgement at nite so i know something is missing... i've been drinking lots of water how abt eating more portions? i read somewhere eating more rice help her increase her supply... actually my stomach has been feeling like empty even after meal ever since after birth... like endless pit... normal ka ni?

I pump 3 times a day when working - around 10:30am, 1:30pm, 4:30pm. At nite baby nurse straight from container But there were times when baby so sleepy so she drinks very little and my boobs felt like gonna explode - so I pump then. I forgot to remind you about eating Breastfeeding is prolly one of the best time to eat a lot of food and not gain weight since you burn 500-1000kcals a day effortlessly. To put that amount in perspective, I have to run 10k everyday to burn same amount of calories - awesome or what . But just like any other activities, if you eat more than you burn you'll still get fat

I'll give you a boring answer - more fish, lots of veges n fruits and at least 500ml of fresh milk daily. In addition, take multivitamins, fish oil and vitamin C

wat is colic anyway? i really have no clue abt it... is it gassy problem? crying problem? or digestive problem? btw r u FTWM or SAHM? if u r FTWM i really need to double ... looks like my supply stays on 1.5oz... now i'm practicing 3-4 pumps (abt 4.5-5oz) for his nite feed... if i skip the nite feed n give him formula then i can keep the milk when i get back to work... then again, he'll go back to formula at nite... a bit heavy for me... but the package already halfway n we shouldn't waste should we?

Colic.. gastro intestinal stuff. Cow's milk apparently can leak to breastmilk and baby's digestion system aint matured enough to handle that. Some babies are genetically disposed to be lactose intolerant. I'm a FTWM

QUOTE(nicKit @ Dec 10 2010, 01:59 PM) double salute to u... now will white tongue affect baby's feeding? they say it'll cover the taste buds therefore making it tasteless... is it necessary to clean it? should i get a nipple cream for my nipples? the cream should b harmless to baby rite? my breast are slightly painful like needle pin stuck on it... should i be worrying? y do i worry so much? Yes you worry too much I wouldnt be too concerned about the white tongue. As for the nipple cream, you can use any brand of pure lanolin or papaw ointment (http://www.thebabyloft.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=263) - the later will give you more bang for the buck All are harmless to baby. I use disposable breastpads to prevent leaking and having my bra 'sandpaper' my nipples The washable ones dont really work well since I leak a lot! I like Lansinoh brand (http://www.lansinoh.com/products/ultra-soft-disposable-nursing-pads) but v hard to find in Malaysia. I tried Bumble Bee one - ok lah since it's half the price.

4oz is still bettter than before yes? Nemind, you'll get there in no time. Hey I realized something today. I shower together with my daughter since she was born if there was no confinement lady to help give her a bath. I hug her, kiss her, smell her hair. A lot of skin-to-skin contact there. And whenever that happens, I leak. I guess my sayang sayang hormones towards her helped to stimulate production Breastmilk production is largely hormonal. Breast crawling rocks too. i've tried breast crawling but my boy cried like lost in the jungle still both of us now often carry or put him on top of our chest... he still cry tho when he couldn't find the nipple coz high ma... once i try to let go n he did manage to crawl but still cried... kesian... i dun have a bath tub so kenot bath together la... besides he's still learning how to support his head... n in conclusion pregnancy, labor n breastfeeding is all hormon's fault i only leak when there's engorgement at nite i have a dunno-it's-creative-or-disaster idea... can i freeze the expressed milk into cubes like the one they store for the solid or sorbet food for 6mths+ baby then after freeze, get them into storage bag? anyone?

Hey Im happy for you too . You're doing great. Breastfeeding is hardwork - congratulations on your new haul Regarding cubes, I usually dont suggest moving frozen ebm (expressed b/milk) from one container to another cause that will cause contamination. But I guess you dont have much choice due to storage space issue. If you want to store your milk for less than 2 days (pump today, use tomorrow), you can just put it in the fridge, no need to freeze. Here's an inspiration for you - http://alinalancontest.blogspot.com/2010/1...ibu-siri-1.html
