What's a MyMic?

I just got an Audix i5 for instrument recording. Seems pretty cool so far, but I do want to get a 57 just to have the "standard" mic.

MyMic is a malaysian mic brand.

since ure dealing mostly with amps, a 57 is a safe bet. Also give sennheiser e906 a try.

once u got that and want to go up a level, add on a second mic, preferably large diaphragm condensers. ribbons are used too but I wont recommend it unless you know what you are doing as its more delicate.

i bought one many years back.
I guess its not too bad, but a little disappointed once you develop an ear for microphones.

I still have a long way to go la like this means. But anyways, here's a bit of progress: I've finished (for now at least) working on the the song I was using the MyMic for.

This has been an interesting experiment, a first attempt at acoustic mic-ing and also at parallel processing. Used REAPER and routed vocals, guitars, snare and kick drums onto separate FX busses. Compressed the hell outta the FX busses and mixed them into the song. No weird phasing/comb filtering luckily - hurray for REAPER.
