hi guys, i owned a D5000 a week ago. I found out that when i take a night scenery with tripod, ISO 400, and 3" shutter speed and the picture come out not so sharp and have quite alot of noise . Please advise.

Maybe u should use smaller aperture for sharpness ? Anyway i try to zoom the picture and thats not really noisy for me btw.

Wan less noise then use ISO100 and longer shutter speed since you already have tripod and time.

Brw, are you pixel peeper?

To me la. D5000 ISO usable only till 800.
And night scene use tripod with ISO 100 and smaller aperture yo icon_rolleyes.gif

Actually the smallest ISO for D5000 is 200 which same as D90.
The 3" shutter speed not long enough? Then is should buy a wired remote release to have try on BULB release mode.
um.... i can see abit blur especially on the sky portion.

Btw, wat is "pixel peeper"?

you definitely need remote to control the camera for long shutter speed. or u can set timer release so that you eliminate any vibrations. but easier with remote lah. and try to use f/8-11 or 16 with longer shutter speed.
pixel peeper means really sensitive to every pixel detail.
