Keyboard arrived. Took approximately 4 days and 12 hours from clicking the order to arriving at my doorstep.
I don't have it though, in PosLaju's office lol. I'll collect tomorrow. |

Got my Ducky keyboard! Feels really nice. I will do a review soon when I have the time!
Still getting used to the lightness of the switch compared to rubber dome keyboard. Getting double spaces quite often. |

QUOTE(jasmineivan @ Dec 18 2010, 04:30 PM) Nice lo Got it from PChome. That was my dream wrist rest. You did bulk order with other? or only yourself? If buy alone also can get at this price then really nice. Any extra keycaps?? white? orange? I rather get blank than grey double shot, that was too pricey for me. Yeah, white WASD keycaps and 1 keycap puller. |

Yeah, I absolutely love the click sound. Feels weird when I hit the spacebar, almost nothing comes out.

It's not about low WPM or not. It's just an interest kind of thing.
Just like maybe some of us cannot appreciate a RM1k blender but some cooking enthusiasts will say otherwise. Doesn't mean we can't blend properly though. |

I won't 'hate' rubber dome keyboards. But my view on keyboards and my benchmark for them definitely increased.

It's personal opinion and choice. Some people prefer the G19 because it has tons of functionality, looks really cool and has an LCD screen.
I don't judge them, people have their likes. Typing is all about the feel about it, we can't dictate a person's taste. Just because I like Maggi Goreng doesn't mean you need to. Get what I mean? |

If mechanical keyboard receive more attention from the public, I do believe that in the future we will have more feature-enhanced and cheaper mechanical keyboards.
Seeing how well the response are for the BW and 7G, we might just see that in a few years. I guess the public needs people like us before they will hop on to the bandwagon, and by then mechanical keyboards would be much cheaper, but still a certain price away from rubber domes. That's wouldn't necessarily be better for us cause our investment opportunities with the keyboards we have now wouldn't be that great |

As expected, Ducky's NKRO works perfectly.

QUOTE(bozehead @ Dec 21 2010, 09:53 PM) Need some help overhere. Filcos are coming to Malaysia in January. Look out for storm88's post.First of all, I have decided to get cherry mx brown keyboard as I have tried blacks (7g) n blues (BW). The problem now is, I cant find a single brown switch keyboard in malaysia. Any advice on where to get 1? Or you can opt for Ducky, which you can get through PChome Taiwan. |

QUOTE(bozehead @ Dec 21 2010, 11:07 PM) Once Filcos arrive in Malaysia, the price should be about the same as buying Ducky through PChome, maybe even cheaper. As for quality, Filco has better build quality as it uses a heavier metal backplating. However, I am happy with my Ducky's build quality as it is much heavier than I expected. So it's definitely sturdy and can withstand my wrist's weight without a problem. As for keycaps, you can opt for PBT keycaps in Ducky keyboards which is supposedly better material. In Filco, you get pad printed ones but they are higher quality type of pad printed keys. As for functionality, Ducki wins all the way as you have various Function keys. I find the keys at the top right corner very useful too, especially the 2nd one which launches My Computer which is really handy for me. Besides, Ducky has removable USB connector while Filco does not. Ducky's Caps, Scroll and Num lock lights are in the keys itself. So things may not look so nice if you plan to change keycaps. However, this shouldn't be an issue if you're not planning to get those funky keycaps. One important thing to note is that Ducky keyboards use Cherry MX Black for their spacebar. MX Blacks are non tactile and non clicky, as opposed to the MX Blue which I am using that is clicky and tactile. So it really feels kinda weird to be typing like these because all along you have feedback when typing but all of a sudden your spacebar doesn't give you any feedback. It requires some getting used to. I sort of got used to it by the 3rd day but nevertheless it still feels a little awkward. Filcos have uniform switches throughout the board so no worries there. As for warranty, I believe Filco's warranty should be more reliable as they are going to distribute it in Malaysia. I'm not even sure how to claim warranty for my Ducky if something bad happens to it. |

I think storm88 is bringing MX red Filcos too. He's working on it.
@StratOS: Technically, yes. You can mod it yourself which requires some serious amount of work. If you meant if 7G comes in other switches variants, no then. |

The question of what's the idea of having MX Blacks in spacebar puzzles me to this very day.
