@Squarebox: Do Filcos use the same switch for their spacebar? Ex: Blue switch keyboard will use blue switch for spacebar. Brown switch keyboard use brown switch for spacebar.

Funny thing that Ducky would use a different key switch for their spacebars. I don't know about greens, but blacks sure as hell feel awkward.

Heh, playing sc2 with mechanical keyboard is fun. Especially Blue switches, where spamming APM just got a lot more fun.
I don't have people near me so the noise isn't such a big of an issue. |

Lol, I took out my old rubber dome keyboard for a spin yesterday and I was completely shocked by how uncomfortable were those keys. And I wodered how I lived without mechanical keyboards all along.

All this will be solved if you use blank letter keycaps lol!
The only thing that I can't get used to using blank keycaps in the top 1-9/0 row. Somehow never managed to memorize their locations. |

Are there any recommended methods to clean or prevent the keyboard from dust?
I put the plastic cover provided by Ducky on the keyboard whenever I do not use the keyboard but still a lot of dust accumulates on my keyboard. Not surprising because my room is open-air. Wet cloths are only so good at cleaning the keyboard. I need something more convenient. I haven't tried those portable vacuum... I don't know if they are really effective considering the dust actually sticks on the keyboard quite well. |

DataVac seems nice but the price is too steep at more than RM100.
I really need to get some micro fibre cloths. |

I don't think the Saitek Eclipse 3 is a mechanical keyboard.
And I have no idea of its availability in Malaysia. You should probably ask the Gaming Keyboard thread. This post has been edited by xcen: Jan 9 2011, 02:05 AM |

QUOTE(ik3da @ Jan 24 2011, 11:09 AM) Any keyboards that allow the user to remove/detach the keys in one go for easy cleaning? Been using the generic/cheap keyboards so far, would like to get a much decent one but just wondering if there's such a type of keyboard or not. Unlikely that will happen in mechanical keyboards, because each of the keys are put in individually, that's why you get such good quality for each key pressed.Added on January 24, 2011, 3:03 pmHmm... Those Korean LED mechanical keyboard seem like a BW 'done right'. This post has been edited by xcen: Jan 24 2011, 03:03 PM |

I'd imagine it's hard not to bottom down on Cherry Browns often because they're so light.
I bottom down on Cherry Blues quite often too, usually the pinkies because I have less control over that. |

I'm interested to get some black-on-black keycaps for the number row of keys, from `,1 until 9,0,-,=.
Not sure if any people actually sell that. Find it hard to find numbers on blank keys. Even till today. |

Probably the only good news from that for mechanical keyboard users is that we no longer need to use the PS2 port. That's about it.
But it's all good, considering how motherboard producers are increasingly foregoing the PS2 ports in their motherboards recently. |

@Moogle
Just noticed that I'm still not in the owner's list, haven't really formally declared yet, so here it goes. I'm currently using a Ducky 9008 Cherry MX Blue with ABS blank caps. |

QUOTE(Iphone4Lover @ Feb 24 2011, 11:03 PM) BTW, to those who want to buy Razer BW, i had yet found another flaw on it(should be many unit also face such problem). Keys among the same row having different height. For example, my ''N'' seems to be sank by 1mm more compared to ''B'' and ''M'' beside it(i mean when it is not pressed and the different remain also when pressed down). My ''C'' is elevated higher than other keys(same row). Luckily, those keys' switch feel and sound still consistent... The issues you stated are problems with BW itself, not mechanical keyboards in general.I start to doubt about the so called ''superiority'' of Mechanical Keyboard over rubber dome after found out so much flaws on it... As was previously known, there might be some quality issue with BWs in the market today, so you should be prepared. Other mechanical keyboards like Ducky and Filcos largely come without problem and their quality is superb. |
