aluminium is cold when touching especially in an air conditioned room doh.gif that is why i am not particularly found of metalic keycaps.

Plastic should be sufficient. Not to mention metalic keycaps are costly doh.gif

i just get ASDW and ESC key total of 4 keys first, yes they are kinda cold, but i don't think that's the problem. As for Slippery part, you can have 4 types of surface.

mostly our hands have too much force to write on a keyboard. if you really wanted to buy a mechanical, i suggest you guys read alot reviews among those 3 types of cherry MX switch, because after you purchase those switches, you'll be require to train how to control your force and avoid bottoming the keys all the time. and that's most efficient for type writers

drool.gif drool.gif i will take pictures side by side with 7G, Ducky DK-9008, and FC200R.(No Acer ALPS, no people would wanted to see that old junk anyway tongue.gif , but if users request to see that old junk, i will take pictures of that as well.)

May be with the growing/migrating of Touch Screen trend from smartphone industry to PC/Notebook/Tablet industry, they will skip the mechanical kb path and directly go into virtual kb. It will be much more convenience, mobile and suitable to type or use on tablet. There are program such as swype and many more to improve typing on virtual touchscreen kb. hmm.gif

virtual keyboard won't actually replace mechanical keyboard, it's just will be an alternative solutions on what people might choose to use.

As for it will become "convenience, mobile and suitable to type or use on tablet. this varies in future and heavily depends on their designs and such.

As for me, i don't really like virtual keyboard actually, because it's a pain in the ass to learn, and what if they change the interface or replace another one. Sorry but i find those things won't last very long, and it won't be easily absorb by the public, because virtual stuff are easily replace by another thing in future, and stuff advance too rapidly.

For programs like swype and many others, it's still just a alternative solutions to type on your mobile, This doesn't actually let's you type faster and more enjoying, and more of a more "Unique Way" to show your friends how you type on your mobile, which is doesn't improves users experience on typing one, as it require you to relearn all typing mephod. and another problems comes as you're limited to only the phone OS as if the programs only support android. then GG.

well i do believe that we're actually heading off topic between this as well as membrane keyboard.

For me, Membrane Keyboard has it's uniqueness and several advantage over mechanical keyboard, and vice versa between each other( i'm not saying mechanical keyboard are bad either), it's just that each keyboard are it's own advantage and disadvantages.

But in here, i do have to say that users have choices to choose between membrane keyboard as well as mechanical keyboard. either you go for blingbling future badass looking. or you go for classic looking, durability, and comfort typing experience(comfort varies from person to person.

Well mechanical keyboards for sure will not be as cheap as rubber domes.
*
because when you disassemble both mechanical keyboard and membrane keyboard, and then watch the interior, you will know what's you're paying for. drool.gif

For for those virtual stuff, yet again i will say it will be not be easily absorb in public. because there's always few serious sentence, "Premium Stuff has Premium Price" "More Customizable Option = More $$$$$ You Gonna Pay"

Mechanical got it's own disadvantages, which i mostly think more commonly use keyboard community will choose membrane keyboard instead of mechanical keyboard, based on one simple problem "Eat and Drink in front PC"

If you spill water on your mechanical keyboard, which i think your keyboard will be "Game Over" while membrane keyboard are waterproof(not entirely waterproof, as long as the board doesn't have any water inside) and one more thing, The Cheapness of Membrane keyboard, no i'm not saying those membrane keyboard that has premium price tag such as G19 and blablablah. It's just that, you walk in a pc store, membrane keyboard RM20 each. =X

For Mechanical keyboard to become main stream, i think it's quite hard, because for price tag issue. Mechanical Keyboard are something like Industrial Use keyboard, they are more durable and higher quality than normal keyboard. Which is similar to compare between Kancil And Mini-Cooper.

Being a 2KRO keyboard as well as having Macro Functions and Extra Keys, and having glossy surface which is doesn't have any scratch resistance.

So majority i listed out all flaw and unique of Blackwidow. Have your pick.

Not saying the keyboard is bad. But Mechanical Keyboard that has Macro functions is rare(because so far, mechanical keyboard that has macro functions only consist of 2 models, one is from Razer and another is from Gigabyte.). So you may as well have a look.

Hey, guys.

My Leopold Keyboard FC200R Tenkeyless will ship by DHL from Korea at Monday.
Hopefully It will went smoothly.

I've heard from their employee that they already preparing to expanding branch towards China and Hong Kong.(this might let us purchase Leopold Keyboards in future much more easily thru China)

And now, they are interested as well as setting a retail system in Malaysia, so Malaysians could purchase them once they arrived. Estimated 2011.

The Keyboard Price tag is still not yet confirmed. But According to XE Money Convert. South Korea Won Converted To Ringgit Malaysia. The Price is Around RM335. So you can expect the price to be around RM300.

I'm actually very looking forward for the Leopold Keyboard right now, because sixty and clickclack from geekhack did agree the keyboard has very good overall quality as well as thicker Keycaps. So i will be the 1st Malaysian to ever own a Leopold FC200R. I'll post Picture Comparison after i get the keyboard.

Just a few questions.
So 300 ish is for the 10keyless; then what about the 104 key leopold ? How much will that be.

And when you mentioned 300; did that already include shipping costs to Malaysia already ?
*
As for what i'm being told by them, this is their retail price, so from what i view at, if Leopold did set a retail system at malaysia, we should be purchasing the keyboard straight without any shipping cost.(just my own thinking and conclusion)

Btw, i just received the keyboard and currently using it, will post picture soon.

I do have to agree with clickclack and sixty, the key is indeed thicker. i was quite surprised with the thickness. Because i didn't realize the difference in thickness is so easily noticeable when put side by side comparison, i'll picture them soon with a ruler beside.

Nice keyboard.

See i told you the Leopold came with double shot extra keys; whereas ducky just gives you colored wasd keys :/

Also that Leopold i believe only comes as lasered pbt keys. See how the picture shows the wording to be much cleaner and clearer than the Ducky.
*
I believe Leopold will only included one Orange Leopold Keycap Doubleshot where the other 4 doubleshot keycaps are not included.

But i will be meeting a Leopold Employee Tomorrow in Kuala Lumpur to have further discussion. If it's possible, i`ll try to bring in Leopold Leopold Keyboard to Malaysia. So you guys can get for a cheap price brows.gif

There's still alot need to be discuss with them. i'll try to post more information once after i have a discussion with Leopold.

Really Nice Keyboard.

How did you purchase a leopold keyboard? Did you use any agents?
*
Actually, This keyboard was a sample sent by Leopold from DHL, There's no way to purchase the keyboard for now because Leopold doesn't accept Paypal or Credit Card.

But i may try to bring this keyboard to Malaysia.

lol, your flash effect is too obvious, should off the flash for some of it, blurred the picture.

Anyway, cant see the side. Cant see the thickness of the both the keyboard and the key caps profile.
But the extra key caps are nice. You extra order it or it was bundled with the keyboard itself?? (foc?)
*
Yeah, sorry about the flash effect, The room that i taken picture is kinda dark, so it is required to have flash. And also because of my Crappy Photographing skill tongue.gif

I'll post a side by side comparison picture once i get back to home(Taiping) where my Steelseries 7G and Ducky DK9008 is.

actually, i not planning only to let Malaysian purchase the keyboard, maybe for foreigner as well. since i know that Malaysia is not a potential market because of the current government problem.

added : still alot of discussion need to be made, so nothing needs to be made, but if agreement from both side agreed, i'll be happy to let Malaysian purchase the keyboard cheaper.

Leopold is preparing to releasing another version of Full size Keyboard which will Features Cherry MX Red Switches.

I saw the sample this morning in meeting with one of the Leopold Employer. He showed me the sample as well as explaining a lot of things.

As for the Price tag of new Leopold Full size Keyboard that features Cherry MX Red Switch, i can't confirm the price tag, but it will be slightly expensive than the Tenkeyless version. but it's still around RM300~400 in between.

The product currently now is still a sample and being consider to release in 2011.

For news that Leopold that will comes to Malaysia, You guys might still have to wait.

Added : sorry, wrong id, was my friends Account, he didn't informed me that he change account.

300-400 seems acceptable.

If you buy yourself overseas may cost like 500 range for a cherry 80-3494 lycus cherry mx red (that is after including shipping price)
*
Well, consider if you buy a Cherry MX red, for RM300~400, it's a steal without shipping.

So i'm rather excited for the new product and hope to bring in Cherry MX Red to you guys, i myself planning to get one as well.
