its 1600x900... Don wan OC la....risky  sweat.gif

OC a bit is not risky. it's free performance.

anyway, 4870 is well sufficient for dat resolution.
i think it's not GPU dat holding the performance bck.

cmd? command prompt?? NO IDEA HOW TO USE!! hahaha

after u dl the driver to from ATI site, u extract it & it will auto run the setup, cancel it.
den rename the extracted folder to something sinple & ez to remember like "ati10".
den open command prompt, navigate to this ati10\bin (bin64if if 64 bit version).
then enter "ATISetup.exe -install -output SCREEN".
now wait for it to install.
after that, reboot & u're done.

How much is the Radeon HD6970 will be?
It seems pretty powerful. It should be on par with GeForce GTX580.
*
there is chance of it being faster.

gtx 580 is 30% faster then 6870.
a 6870 has 1120 shader, which is 58.3333% of 6970 total shader.
extra 41.6667% shader on 6970 most prbably will translate to @ least 30% performance boost, or even more.

Not really, Memory and Core clocks are the MAIN KEY of OCing.
Shader Clocks are not, because usually, it's stick to Core Clock.
*
applies wit nvidia cad.
coz ati card, the shader run @ same speed wit core anyway......

it is confirmed AMD 69xx series sux......especially 6970.

6970 manage on par wit gtx570, but wit $50 more exp price tag.......
power consumption wise, lower, but just by bit, not much.

the last time ATI/AMD produce a card dat is slower den rival but more expensive was 29xx series....

6950 survive now coz it is on a unique spot in the market.
however....once gtx560 hit, the same cannot be said....

QUOTE(Searingmage @ Jan 14 2011, 02:42 AM)
For those who had unlocked their 6950 and set their clock speed and memory speed to 6970, is there any who face problem? Or has anyone successfully unlocked it without any problems?
Also, anyone tried mod the bios only to unlock the shaders? If so, how's the performance compared to unmod?
