wow. where u got it n how much u paid for it?

how many ppl here actually has 3820? better than 4820 right?
*
paid in S$, about RM3.4k. i also paid a few hundred for 'shipment'.

not sure how many uses 3820tg (think not many), but i'd say it's generally very similar to 4820TG. to avoid warranty hassle, i reckon people to get 4820TG.

i insisted on 3820tg becoz:

1. i m a sucker for small thingy. i like small things, small is beautiful
2. i travel a lot, 1.8kg vs 2.2kg ...
3. 3820tg has 2 fans...

apparently, the fan controls and heat management in 3820tg is really good. some review even call it perfect.

for me heat is #1 issue that causes notebook problem. i'd like my notebook running cool even without cooler (again, coz i travel a lot, does not make sense to bring cooler along)

Since its the i5 4xxM family, most likely just add another 2x multiplier on its turbo
Base speed : 20 x 133MHz = 2.660 GHz
Turbo speed: 22 x 133Mhz = 2.926 GHz

There is really no need for me to overclock this notebook. With 7.6k in 3dmark06, I can play any game at 1366x768 resolution with mostly High setting.

So, it has been a month since I get this notebook, and I haven't do any OC. I finally decided to test this baby for it's OC capability. Not that I need it, but 5650 is just so easy to OC. I haven't try OC the CPU since I heard there is negative impact on gaming. So, the result:

1. Core Speed = 760
2. Memory Speed = 1100
3. GPU temperature MAX = 81 even after 2 hours of testing flex.gif

3dMark06 = 9730

Default is 550/800. Some forks in NBR can break 10k score... i think my memory speed limit is just 1100, some using 1200! blink.gif

Well yea I guess it really differs for everyone although it's the same GPU.... My limit for GT335M is much lower to what many other ppl have achieved also...

What's ur max temp when playing games after OC?

to be frank, i haven't using the OC for anything (including playing game). i just try OC it, and check if it is stable. i don't connect to any external monitor, so at 1366x768, there is really no need to OC in any recent game...

i m just testing it just in case, i might need to use it in the future... blush.gif
