however, you also have to bring a long your wife rekod kesihatan ibu mengandung card along too.
when you arrived hospital serdang , go to their reception there and register, they will give you a book like this

Dr Choong from Bangsar Pantai does water birth. Heard the his interview over the radio recently that it cost approx. RM 5-6K. Dr Choong also encourages natural birth and is quite accommodative with parent's birth plan.

I live in Kepong. Me & my husband don't mind any hospital or clinic but as long it's responsible & doesn't cost us a bomb! We r looking at RM6k max! Dunno still got this song to sing or not... Hahaha
But now, I had done 2 tests, 1 with just the indicator which shows a very fine line that say I'm pregnant & 1 'ClearBlue' with weeks indicator. So I had to start planning now for the C-session cost.

Pls help me out!

Hi Celinetsk,

Is it PCPM or PCMC (Prince Court Medical Centre)?

Currently I'm seeing Dr Paul Tay at PCMC and due in early July too. PCMC standard charges is RM90.00 per consultant in regardless of which doctor you consult. PCMC charges for every single items you used, ie for urine test (they'll charge for urine dipstick, urine strips - costs RM7.50). So, normal consultation will cost RM97.50, including the baby's ultrasound and print out. An additional RM60.00 if using 4D machine (the pic is brown/yellow).

For Dr Paul, I think his charges are reasonable compared to other gynae in PCMC. Initially, my sister consulted a female gynae in PCMC, her bills always come out to RM200.00 - RM350.00 for a lot of misc charges. So, she gave up and went back to SDMC.

As for the delivery charges, I've pm-ed a few LY members who are using Dr Paul Tay and received one reply only as below:

"Normal Delivery (2 days 1 Night Stay) is RM 3800, Caesarean (3D2N + Anesthesia fees) RM 8800-9000, epidural RM 1000"

Hope this helps. smile.gif

My wife delivered our baby in Prince Court Medical back in June costing roughly around RM 4.9k (self pay GLC probably double)
Stayed 4 days 3 nite since baby need some medical attention. I even asked the cashier 3-4 times on the total bill heheheheheh  rclxm9.gif

Natural delivery without epidural cost RM 3k+
Baby Handling Cost RM 1K +
Single Standard Room - RM 150 / pernite = RM 450
Misc *paed visit + hearing test bla bla bla: RM 500+

notworthy.gif Dr Paul Tay is the best you can find in the hospital for consultation + charges wise.
Even internally (I've asked) the nurses in PCMC prefered Dr Paul Tay.
The charges he estimate prior to delivery (natural) is around 5k or could be more subject to delivery.

The rooms are 1st class and the midwife are excellent too. Switch our consultation from Ampang Puteri to PCMC is the best decision ever.
Imagine AP charges never less than 180RM regardless wether there is medication or not and most of the time more up to RM 250+.
On top of that the docs hardly gave you useful advise / something new. Our 4 visit to AP is blown to pieces just by 1 visit to Dr Paul Tay.
Lots of parking for visiting family + private room + flexible visiting hours are added benefit
The only bad experience is with Pediatrician Dr. Sharmila which appear not professional at all! Doing her round late and appear messy with long untie hair. She is having flu and holding and inspecting babies without a mask (which is charge Rm 300+!)

Anyway we switch to Dr Anthony James (which is really2 good!)after my wife released from the hospital.
The follow up consultation fees a bit steep but we are more than happy to go.

Lots more to write on the good stuff, but the cashier at the main entrance is a failure can't use Debit card while the rest of the internal clinic cashier have no issue at all.

If anyone need more info I am more than happy to reply PM

Hi guys, I would like to share my experience....

Just having a summary from the first....

Both of kids were delivered at Prince Court (PCMC) just in case newbies dont know the short form.. hehehehe....

My first son's charge was RM5,000: mom's charge around RM2,400, babies RM2,600. Baby expenses was quite expensive since by baby had problem. Expenses include; standard room, superb meals, very spacious room, friendly nurses and had been treated like VIP, we stayed for 2 nights, normal birth, only spend 4 hours in labor room. That was in October 2010.

My second kids was also born at PCMC, but total charge only RM3,900. Moms' charge is RM2,400, baby only RM1,500. but since PCMC was getting cheaper, all the rooms or ward are full. So, PCMC upgraded our room to junior suite. It really superb experience. The room really big and it even had kind of living room inside. My wife spend only 1.5 hour in labor room, stayed for 2 nights and the baby was ok. This was February 2012.

Really recommended for those have a budget.

Thanks.

Hi,

There are one maternity clinic(shop lot) located at Selayang Jaya(opposite Shell petrol station and next to E1 food court) which they offer quite cheap packages excluded meal.

My first baby was delivered there with caesarean option(my first option since i'm expecting) and it only cost me 3k plus less than 4k included mummy + baby.

The doctor was a singh guy called Dr Jaspal. Monthly check up was less than RM200 unless need injection or blood test.

You may have a try there. smile.gif
