they mentioned that to clean off a dust from a lense @ canon already cost rm120 @.@"

I think there's more dust in my camera than I initially thought there is :S

i got a quote from YL camera service centre, optical lens for G series cannot be open, need to replace the OPTICAL unit.

How much it cost to replace??
I think it is possible to use software to map the dust n remove it during post processing rite? I nvr try before, but i think i read about it some where...

Have you tried asking Canon itself?

cos that time i ask my g11 got Hot pixel too... need to change the CCD Sensor too.... change both parts quoted me rm450.
but i no repair yet.. cos the camera still can use.. jz ignore the black spot....

no. cos canon service center is located at glenmarie.. didn't think of going there so far.

I went to their HQ @ Shah Alam, it's actually before the Subang Airport... and they told me to replace my G10 lens need 700 including service charge >.<

and the new G16 is coming out.. about RM 1,599 =.=

so to replace my lense is gonna cost about half of it =.=;;

they also told me they have a scheme for case like mine. They could help me apply for a G16 for the price of 1,299 =.=;; Still expensive though.. sigh..

I think it's really bad that dust can get in so easily x.x

some method i learn from the internet is use vacuum cleaner... hmmmm

G16 vs G7X.

Is it that if I can fork out that extra RM300, then I should definitely get G7X?

My friend recommend me with G16, he shows me a lot of pictures and it looks really cool and nice..

just got a used G15 here. btw anyone knows where we can find a custom grip for the cam? i have big hands, holding just small bit at the side, really hard as the cam quite small. i used to own a 400D before this so already quite used to big grippy thingy

Plus : any accessories to go with it? looking at tele converter and wide ones maybe

wireless trigger i got dy from my previous 400D setup, seems to work fine with canon series

anyone in KL have a NB-7L battery...
my dad (in his old age) threw away the batteries and i cant test the G12 now to see if it works..
i can come over to ur place with camera to test with ur battery..
if camera is working then i consider buying charger and battery....
wasted if buy and camera not working.
