i think to get Bokeh on G1x also quite difficult.... the lens is somehow limiting it. But you may still get bokeh.... even my s90 can do so. But if you want those like DSLR level creamy one will be difficult.

actually is not that hard. just need to nail the setting right.
if you really wan further bokeh, use a close up lens or macro filter and you will get an extremely nice bokeh.
this is what i saw in other forum.
no sample from me yet, i haven't spend my time to try it out.

i think it would be quite hard or maybe you need to have your background very far away from your object to create similar one like above. That is if you used the G12 case.

let me try out a few bokeh pic with my G1X, hopefully I have some free time this weekend and show you the result.

Yup, not promising at all due to the closest focusing distance is tooooo far away from the object. G12 maybe can do better than this.

G1X will do better when couple with close up lens. same goes for G12. you can create better bokeh background with close up filter attached to the camera.
Now, just wait until i get my close up filter available for another round of test shot...

g1x is kinda out of my budget scope already.. i would have gone for d5100 with that money tongue.gif

g12 is around 1.2k which is still ok, next is e-pm1 which is around 1.5k or lx5, 1.2k

not sure e-pm1 with m43 sensor size will get pleasing bokeh or not. maybe you can check out in their official thread here and see.
anyway, I'm still waiting for my close up filter to be available, for the meantime, i'll just post some pictures taken by others from other forum for your reference.

all taken with G1X + macro mode + close up filter canon 250D. very promising and close to what you have been looking for.
same filter can be mounted on G12 as well, if you purchase one and if you have the adapter for your G12 to mount filter.

Added on July 18, 2012, 11:47 amUpdate: The close up filter of Canon 250D I ordered has arrived to my house... sadly I'm outstation now, so I will not get hold of it not until October... I'll post some picture with it when I get a hold on it. I got some toys & figures in my house which can try to simulate the bokeh ability of this camera.

went to swp & lyp last week to check out G15 but left disappointed. only 2 shops have the other newly released models, namely, SX50 HX, EOS M & S110.
