Last year, when my friend from "kopitiam" fetch me from my house, my mum exclaimed,

"Wah, lei yau pen yau ah?"

"Wah, you have friends?"

Well... whatever you do don't give up..... practice it with some bananas or ang moh lang if possible... like I said... it will get better with exp.... I had language exchanges with Chinese and Japanese friends in Uni, basically teaching them grammar and vocab and them teaching me in return Mandarin and Japanese.... Admittedly Japanese was easier for me to pick up... but the Chinese students by the end of the 2nd year can actually hold a decent conversation with me... and that's from when they were totally stuttering as well... and some of them actually found jobs earlier than I did... being able to speak Mandarin fluently as well as some english..

So Jia You!! Ka Yau!! or whatever it is in HOkkien....lol

I'm actually half hokkien n half hakka... but only speak some hokkien and Mandarin

Well, thanks for your advice and encouragement.
I'm pretty confident and humorous in some way, stuttering doesn't really affect me, maybe academically, but not socially.
Jia You in hokkien is Pa You or Keh You? I'm Hokkienese, how can you be half hokkien and half hakka, where was your paternal ancestor from?
