was it maybank?
for citibank, i asked them to increase my CL, they asked me to send them documents like EFP, EA form and pay slips  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif

nops. Direct Access (that time still Southern Bank)

QUOTE(cenkudu @ Nov 21 2010, 09:54 PM)
my friend bought a desktop with the original receipt state RM1550 but the shop swipe RM 1581 because of 2% surcharge. can the original receipt n the cc slip become an evidence if he going to report to master card?
*
the shop should list rm31 "admin fee" or "card charges" or something like that in the receipt. maybe ur fren ask can pay using cc after the bill already printed? ur fren should be told before swipe that he will be charge 2%?

QUOTE(fuzzyguy @ Nov 21 2010, 10:12 PM)
I got a question regarding cash advance actually. Can anyone help me out?
I know the interest rate for cash advance is 18%pa. Let say, if I withdraw 2000 today, how is the interest be calculated? Do I need to pay back the lump sum of 2000+interest before the coming bill due date? Thanks
*
this:
QUOTE(johnnyc @ Nov 21 2010, 10:33 PM)
the interest is calculated daily basis until you finish paying the cash advance. Bear in mind, it got cash advance fee of 5% imposed first.

By right the original receipt should show the 2% surcharge also....otherwise the worker can take the money for himself...  sweat.gif

no the worker cant. all the money will go to company bank account, but bank will deduct that 2%, so company will received exactly amount.

Guys I wanna apply for one credit card, with only one condition that RM50 waived
*
currently there is no such gst rm50 waived, but bank usually offer cash back so u can take it as gst rebate.

QUOTE(persistence85 @ Nov 23 2010, 12:04 AM)
Er, sorry for the silly question, what is mean by DA card?
*
Direct Access. introduced by Southern Bank previously. now owned by CIMB bank. must have min degree qualification to apply besides salary etc.

QUOTE(ck3lam @ Nov 22 2010, 09:11 PM)
A lot of people here is holding DA card as it is free for life (I think you are eligible as you have PTPTN). But I'm not sure whether they will waive the RM50 GST for first time application or not. I believe someone can answer that.
*
NO and NO. PTPTN is not the requirement but DEGREE. studying diploma also can apply PTPTN. and DA never waived RM50 gst for new application.

QUOTE(gastacopz @ Nov 22 2010, 05:09 PM)
MBB will offer you 10,000 points if you terminate the CC. is it the same with HSBC?  hmm.gif
*
NO. HSBC wont give free points, and their points for GST is only 9500.

QUOTE(hye @ Nov 23 2010, 06:57 PM)
Gentlemen

Can we be more careful about using the term "threatening" the banks when it come to the GST subject? Already there has been a reader who want to only apply a card with the GST "waived" or else. And slowly the past few replies have been circling around "threatening" the banks to waive the GST.

IMHO ... I don't think we are setting the right example here in this forum and let's be more responsible for what we say. This thread was originally created to educate reader on good credit card consumer management and definitely not how to arm twist the banks about getting your own way. I have no issues about getting our value for money but to this extent then I don't think it's appropriate anymore.
*
agree.

i'm not 'threating' the bank. i just ask them to cancel my card bcoz. what happen next? go search my previous post brows.gif

for NEW applicant, just apply for cc that offers u cash back or cash rebates blush.gif
of coz u need to pay that RM50 first, but since the GST is yearly, so u should be able to cover it by 12 months cash back/rebates.

my experience, use the cards for 3 years AND pay full statement amount each month, if we request to cancel the card, then usually they will ask why.

if they not asking, maybe, maybe, bcoz ur payment history.
even they cancel ur card, but if still have outstanding, they will still earning from the monthly interest + late payment fee after this, and u cant add more debt with them. so good for them.
if u transfer the balance to other bank, the bank will received the money from ur new bank. so they will be happy bcoz u 'clearing' ur outstanding. also good for them.

bcoz most of the officers and shop workers really dont care much about credit cards, even in their own bank (for bank officers)! i faced it before. and most of them is 'young', might even dont know that Southern Bank was exist before! sweat.gif btw i am using DA since Southern Bank

Good day, I'm planning to apply a classic credit card. Currently planning to apply one at CIMB bank.
The online form shows anual fee is free for life but the website shows only for platinum cards.
Can any CIMB classic card holders clarify this? Also, how is their customer service as I have heard a lot of bad rumours about them.
*
1st, not sure if CIMB still offer classic card. 2nd, CIMB with Petronas logo confirm free for life (both principal and supp) w/o any terms.

QUOTE(dany06 @ Nov 26 2010, 11:00 AM)
What will happen if i have installment plan in my CC, but i only pay the minimum amount, not including the installment plan? I'm using DA.
*
i'm wondering, is it minimum amount already included the installment plan amount? hmm.gif

u mean if ur minimum is 260 and got installment 100 so u want to pay 160 only? bank wont take it as u not paying the installment, but not paying the minimum. u wont get 20 days interest-free period (of coz) and all the remaining balance will have finance charges sweat.gif

how long would it takes for Maybank to review the card application?
submitted the form on 12 Nov, they said only received it few days ago

maybe the branch delay to submit ur form. next time, apply online (certain banks). or maybank, call 0358914777 to get pre-approved card (referred to their website)

yes same goes to me. usually withdraw from Maybank and immediatelty go to HSBC (next 1 block only).
HSBC kajang can accept max 30 notes only 1 time, usually 1st 30 no prob, but next 30 can accept 4-5 notes only.
i choose finish and try another CDM machine, accept all without reject sweat.gif

Hi forumer..

Yesterday i received an EZY credit card cash cheque amounted to RM2000 and it state that 0% interest for 6 months. Of course, must have more than 2000 credit limit in my account.

add by cash advance fee 3.88%-must paid cash.

My question, is there any hidden terms for that facility?
*
i also received that (different amount). but didnt proceed. no need.

but if u need rm2k badly now, then go for it. ur 1st (next) month bill will be charged rm77.60 + rm333.33. then 2nd - 6th month rm333.33 only. must pay full amount or u will be charged interest based on the balance (not rm333.33).

err.. correct me if i'm wrong notworthy.gif

btw, i applied OCBC Titanium TWICE NOT APPROVED! cry.gif

1st time applied using >3 years DA Plat. got letter unsuccessful without any reason.
so i apply for 2nd time (next week after that) with all supporting documents (pretend as i dont have cc yet).
both applied at OCBC Kajang branch.

dont tell me since using Plat then cant use the Titanium?
but if not mistaken, i did noticed some people here using Plat also can get the OCBC Ti?

my record are clean. NEVER had debt. cc all paid full/more.
i dont have any loan (house/car all paid cash) - this also suprised the OCBC officer who took my application, since at the form i thick residental status - own, then she ask house loan from which bank, i said no loan. car loan? no car loan also.

really need that 5% rebate for petrol+bill+groceries sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

my mom told me, maybe, the bank think i'm able to pay, then no need la give me 5% rebate doh.gif

DA Plat requirement is higher than OCBC Titanium. besides, i use DA for more than 3 years without debt. btw, why need to wait for another 6 months?

i only have 4, all never had debts. DA is now under CIMB, hard to access? besides they can check with CCRIS/CTOS right?

QUOTE(choonkeong @ Dec 2 2010, 12:02 PM)
No matter what credit card you submit, the bank still will check the CCRIS and CTOS.

p/s Making sure that you are still holding at least one Malaysian Issued credit card that is more than one year old and it is appeared in CCRIS system of Bank Negara.

yes my DA is Malaysian issued cc, from CIMB.

What I dont understand is, 1st time apply with current cc not approved. 2nd time with all supporting documents also not approved.
And they said they cannot tell the reason.

QUOTE(charymsylyn @ Dec 2 2010, 02:47 PM)
Your understanding of how banks view CC debt is actually the opposite way. The most important criteria is actually not whether you can repay the debt, but actually how much they can earn from you. Since your debt level is zero, it means your ability to repay is too good and you are actually a very poor customer to the bank. The best customers to the bank are people who are unable to clear their CC debt but do not actually default.

Hi,

I just bought a dlsr camera for rm 3500 and i plan to do flexi-pay (uob Bank)

Unfortunately, Uob have not approve my application for flexi pay which have left me shortage of $$$ to pay back...

Can u guy how much uob will charge interest ?

i plan to pay RM 1000 each month...or rm 1500 each month..

How much i will lose on interest??
*
why UOB not approved? its very rare bank not approved flexi-pay (btw UOB terms is EPP - Easy Payment Plan. flexi use by CIMB).

ok now, if u not paying in full, u will be charged 13.5% per annum (assume u always pay full before this), and u wont get 20 days interest-free period!

let say u purchase the camera rm3500 on 18 nov. ur statement date is 28 nov and due date 19 dec.
so by 19 dec u pay ur statement, and still have balance (oustanding) rm2000.
then, any transaction between starting 29 nov till u finish ur outstanding will get interest!

I don't see any PETROL REBATE in CIMB Cards. You try to search here.

By the way, it is DIRECT ACCESS which offers petrol rebate 2% (expiring by 31/12/2010, subject to renewal).
*
ALL CIMB Mastercard WITH Petronas logo will get petrol rebate at Petronas only.
while DA Mastercard will get rebate at all petrol station. but DA DONT HAVE classic card, so confirm ur card is not DA.

help clarify to me please guys...

ive redeemed rm50 gst from my hsbc..and they credited rm50 to my cc...total amount i need to pay for that month is 660++..but become rm610xx...after minus rm50 they credited to me..

and this month, got rm50 statement added to my bill..

im always pay full..just this time got confuse bout the GST..

i should pay this amount right since they already credited rm50 to my account a month earlier (for the GST tax)...

or i shouldn't pay this??

help please..confuse here....
*
HSBC gst will be charged 1 month after expiry date. if ur expiry is 09/14 then the gst will be on ur Oct statement, not Sept.

u should redeem gst50 AFTER it shows at ur statement. like me, i did pay full amount 1st (the last day of due date) then redeem gst50 (before next statement). so my next statement got rebate rm50 and extra rm50 will be deducted to next statement.

do u pay early? if yes, pls call HSBC helpline
