Actually is for all the white color cars tongue.gif
Another cheaper choice if you really mind the dirty water mark, which is buy a car cover to cover the car once you park into your car porch which not fully cover sweat.gif

I am in the same predicament as you. My car porch roof is short too. Covers first car 2 /3 where as second car only 1/3.
But I am lazy to use the car cover, unlike my neighbour who is still using the cover on his more than 10 years old Wira.

Ahhhh...now more relax... biggrin.gif after back from TCEAS chan sow lin service center.

After some explanation from one of the more senior chinese service personnel, i feel more comfortable...

He said only all Teana V6 engine got this kind of engine knocking sound during first move... But the previous cefiro 3.0 V6 dun have that kind of sound. It is because of the design of the engine. It is using the same engine as the nissan 350Z but with a smaller cc.

He said is normal and no harm but just a little bit annoying sound during first move only. He said no need to worry.

So to all Teana 250 XV owner, if u feel some obvious engine knocking sound during first move after pass 30 km/h, its normal. No need o be worry much.... smile.gif

hi guys...since many of u hv alrdy driven teana for long...i need some feedback on the car regarding maintenance, common problems, things u dun like, engine/gearbox performance...i hv juz test driven 2.0L teana comfort (which i consider getting) this morning and here is my opinion on the car:

1. the comfort and NVH is superb...seats are like plush sofa...freaking quiet and very little vibration like in library till the extent i dun realize i hv alrdy started the engine...stable at high speed...
2. handling is above average although not as good as accord...lose out in terms of interior looks and overall features compared to camry/accord...
3. cabin and boot space is super huge...
4. pick up surprisingly quite ok considering it's huge and heavy car...i bet sylphy owners will experience better pick up power...

so what do u think?any other comments or views u guys hv?juz focus on maintenance..common problems...things u dun like...engine and gearbox performance

thx alot biggrin.gif

Bro, yamasce,

I think 200 XE (2.0 L) specs got better fc than 2.5 L which i m driving now.
For a full tank, i can easily get 560 to 590 km in a pure city drive (no balik kampung). So i guess for 2.0 L can get much better than that.
No doubt, teana is really a comfortable moving machine. I really like its sofa seat. My wife which is pregnant now oso said the seat wont give her any back pain when we balik kampung to penang few times.

As for the handling, it is just mediocre only but still acceptable lar. Coz my preference is towards comfort more than spiritual ride. If u are a slow driver and dont do much fast cornering like me, teana is a really good choice.

As for the gearbox, it is simply one of the main reason that i choose teana. It is extremely smooth. No feeling of changing gear. But it is not as fast as DSG gearbox of VW which i have in my garage oso. The DSG gearbox oso very smooth but u still feel the gear changing.

It really depends on ur preference of which type of driving style that u want.

If u want luxury and comfort, go for teana... biggrin.gif

hey bro thx for ur feedback...the main reason i'm not going for 2.5L is the FC and price over my budget...my pocket lubang sure got very big hole later...although sometimes i liked to floor the pedal but definitely not like those roadsters/speed maniacs behaving like ah beng...yea gear change was unnoticeable and very stable at high speeds...even my gf sat on left passenger dun feel the car moving at 120km/h in short instance until she saw the speedometer reading...but i heard there are common problems related to steering...engine knocking...dashboard, glove compartment and seat irritating sound...how is the maintenance and service quality and cost?any other things which u dun like or problems faced?

I think 2.0 L dun have the engine knocking sound. Only teana V6 engine will sound guk guk guk...during the first move and ONLY after pass 30 km/h.
Steering...., i got no problem untill now.
Dashboard oso no problem...
The glove compartment got sound ngik ngik... But i complaint to SC during 5000 km, and they fixed it. But it still sound a little but not so obvious. I still can tolerate this problem lar... blush.gif
Seat oso no problem....
So far, i quite satisified with my teana. But i not sure about the other bro out there. Just wait for them to comment later... biggrin.gif

Maintenance wise, i dunno yet coz mine is still under 2 year free service.

As for the service center, i have been to the bigger one (TCEAS CHEARS JALAN CHAN SOW LIN) and a smaller one (TCEAS BALAKONG).
Both oso OK..... They will call u after few days of service to confirm with u whether ur problem is fixed or not or satisfied or not and blah blah...

Bro yamasce, one tips for you if you worry about the Nissan maintenance =)
You can bring your own parts and oil to the service center for schedule service. Just refer to your servicing booklet, you will find all the items that going need to service this time. Then you can go to any spare parts shops to buy your parts (engine oil, oil filter, spark plug, timing belt...) You can save a lot of cash on the parts' cost and just pay the servicing fee to Tan Chong.
This is one of the main reason i choose Nissan, instead of T&H. And most important, your warranty will not void =)

hmm.. i tested sylphy b4.. for acceleration really not as good as teana despite its a heavy car althou same engine used. I asked the SA he told me something like ecu tune to hav bigger power on teana, but sylphy will have better FC thou.

FC on 2.0l confort.. full tank til fuel warning light appears.. 550km.. i forgot how many litters thou. 114 bucks.. ron95.. around .21 per km

handling.. i like the light steering.. easy 2 drive in the city/town area i would say.. suspension abit soft and tat makes it very comfy.. but i m thinking whether to add anti-roll bar or not..

power.. i used to drive on ron97 and tis is the 2nd tank on ron 95.. and.. power still acceptable althou change from ron 97 to 95.. for normal city drive it is very acceptable.. decent acceleration..

2.0l no knocking sound as reported.. back seat space if not wrong i think accord bigger.. but the back seat legroom consider very good ady.. to me at least..

things i don like.. the stupid beige colour interior.. if get dirty easily noticeable.. tats y i always clean my seat n watever interior when it got dirty.. tak tahan c it get dirty..

and the stupid seat belt.. the seat is too big.. when u release seat belt.. it got stuck there and not placed properly.. and it tend to knock on the plastic panel when there is abit of vibration and create annoying sound.. just pull it properly then will b ok..

and whatever glove compartment sound.. don notice at all.. for me..

and i suggest get the 2.0L luxury (or watever.. i forgot the exact name) like mine.. the front sensor make the car very easy 2 drive.. leather seat is great.. and vkool works ok.. but not too dark.. just add some $ to get some cheaper tint to make it darker.. for heat reduction.. vkool works..

BTW.. mine is 2.0L luxury.. cheers~

Yes, sure can. Especially Chan Sow Lin and PJ branch.
But we are under 2 years free maintenance, so we no need to pay anything even they using their parts.
But, if you prefer better engine oil then just bring your own =)

all of your fuel consumption is very high and very good.
the amount of fuel used in cars are very much based on how heavy your foot is.

my teana has never seen 350km on a full tank before. only on the range indicator when refueling at the pump. the rest of the journey is beyond the 4k rpm mark. i'm lucky to hit the 300km mark range on a full tank at times. most of the times, its under. maybe aaround 280-290 on a nice day. on rainy days probably 330-350km.

and the leather seats on this, sucks. its stiff and hard. the seatbelts dont tuck in back to its position which becomes annoying all the time.
the compartment at the doors are made for flat hands which isnt for human to use.

the headlamps are plastic covers while the foglamps are glass. this made absolutely no sense to me.

the stupid orange LED has been destroyed by me.

traction control doesnt work. its too slow in reacting and most of the time there's no corrective balance force applied. switching it off saves power, therefore i switched it off permanently.

the tyres and rims that came original were rubbish to begin with. swapped to 18" the very next day. didnt want to look like a clown driving a big clown car with small wheels and sotong tyres.

bodykit is expensive and so is the stupid add-on accesories especially the new monitor.

engine doesnt roar. it just guzzles fuel and gives no power. 210km/h is max which i find quite stupid. really very stupid.

I am using 2.0L Luxury.

Bro yamasce, I suggest you take the 2.0L Luxury rather than the Comfort. I think the difference of RM4k spread over the repayment period won't hurt much.

For FC, I am using RON95 and getting about 550km. I filled up until the pump nozzle stops (not until the brim) and the next visit will cost me around RM115.00. This is mainly on 70% city and 30% highway.

I, too hate the seat belt and door compartment (the designer must have chicken brains) to come up with this type. As for seat belt getting stuck between the seat and plastic panel, do you guys think fixing a button (stopper) just above the original one will work? Cam they do it at the accessories shop?

And if you leave anything solids on the seats, it give some irritating noise when rubbed against the seats. Same with the sun glass holder on the roof.

Both the front seats is a bit short and a bit crooked. The head rest is only dimensional, not much usage. Never sat in the back seat so no comments at the moment.

The cup holder in the middle is too close to the gear shaft and an obstruction so I hardly use it for putting water bottles.

For servicing, the SC didn't allow me to bring my own oil, saying there were a case in KL, one owner brought his own oil and later got some problems and he blamed the SC.
I sent for servicing at 1k, 5k and on 10k, the service assistant advise me to use a different oil at @RM200> that can last until 20k and so skip the 15k service. Don't know it it was a good idea 'cos I have to wait longer if I have any complains.

That's what I mentioned before. I complaint about the noise around the display and steering area when driving on rough surface road, they didn't say much and on the bill they claimed rectified. But the f......g noise is still there. Imagine driving a RM145k car on the NSE at 120km/h with this annoying sound. Malu...

Rattling sound. Overheard the mechanics talking among themselves that this sound only found on 2.0 litres and 2.5 litres are not affected. I thought it was the coins in the coins compartment and I removed all coins and metal parts from the glove compartment, ashtray and strip naked the whole car but it was still there, but it is only when you drive on rough surface roads. No sound when car is stationery.

Hi all, i am newbie here. I got my 2.0 Luxury 3 months ago. So far the rattling sound i got is only come from the sunglass compartment. I guess must be something loss up there. Another problem is when i drive on the highway for long enough (say 3 hours) during hot day, the rear air con vent might blow hot air instead of cool air. I will ask the SC to rectify this during next service.
