I wish to buy a new Nokia. I have never used a touchscreen phone before, but I'd like to, because the screen is huge (compared to the 2.2 inch, S40 Nokia I use). I am, tho, a bit concerned about word typing on a touchscreen phone.

Guys, these are the phones I am considering:

- C6-00 (touch, qwerty-slider)
- C5-03
- X6 8GB
- 5800 Xpress Music
- 5530 Xpress Music
- X3 Touch and Type (S40, 2.4 inch screen) RM550 at shop

Which one is worth the money or has most value? Quote/estimate price if possible please.

I am open to other brands, do you have any suggestions?

SE X10 it is huge screen, but is pocketable
if it is too large, look for HTC Aria. these two if u want to try android.

if want to stick for symbian, can try either C6-01 of C7. C6-01 is kinda thick, but cute fella.. C7 is slimmer, and larger than C6-01. but those camera got no AF as on your 5800
what do u mean by pay for the apps? android also got paid apps actually. just, so far, only free apps are available in Malaysia. there are some trick to buy paid android apps (android section got thread about that )
well, try SE X10. since u'll b using for browsing internet, the large screen will be comfortable. and the camera is so far, IMO, the best on android now.
what will u used for? messaging, =bb. if not, HTC's. but depend on your usage. elaborate more

Yea ,it looks really good but I'm worried about the value . As new product comes out , it dropped really dramatically .

The new SE X10 I seen in Garage sales is around 1.2k . After a few months I think already 800..

But iPhone don't dropped that much but the new iPhone 4 not worth buying yet. Better wait for 2nd Gen. 

Hi, I would like to know how the Nokia X6 fares in terms of ordinary texting? Does it come with a virtual QWERTY keyboard? or the ordinary keypad?

lol.. wait for 2nd generation, is like, waiting for iphone 3gs the moment iphone 3g out. and waiting iphone 4 when 3gs out.
never heard ppl said about that problems   only known problems is mobo.. but not all are effected (i know becasue i use C7 )

ooo.. it is not major problems as its mobo mobo problems is quite vast back then. display problems maybe experienced by some ppl only

I ask this because a lot of the touchscreen phones I have browsed through are all plasticky, and the closest thing (N97 mini with metal battery casing) costs >RM1000.

Added on January 3, 2011, 4:29 pmI saw the Nokia C6-01 which has a metal casing, but it's new and expensive.

Because plastic is flimsy and less durable compared to metal. I regret that my previous phone (made of ordinary plastic) has become badly damaged, even though I took good care of it.

Of course, any of them are fine if those "protective rubber/synthetic casings" are available.

i never try any touchscreen hp...

but i own ipod touch its damn smooth..but the battery life is short ( same as iphone 3g according to my fren xprience)

I'm not sure about its price, I found RM900-1000+ online, but since it's not super new it might be lower.

I believe 5530 might suit me more as it is less expensive. However, I am mostly concerned with Symbian ^1 since a lot of people complain.

If I wanted Android, what other phones could I get apart from HTC Wildfire, that have solid build quality (or at least have good protective casings available), and cost ~RM800 or less?

For Sony Ericsson phones I don't quite like the normal user interface. If I buy an Android or Symbian Sony Ericsson, does it become more user friendly (like Nokia) for someone not accustomed to the usual Sony Ericsson?
