firefox crash might be bcz of flash, guess ur using 64bit edition too...blame adobe for doing 64bit ba

not really, just im using it everyday, just based on my experience, i do repair/maintenance/retail for a living.

not really a shop, i just have my own office, usually take home calls or company contracts..small time tech junkie hehe wan2 promote linux and original software tho

haha how green can computing could be? even with no lead in parts, v r still creating junks that ppl will throw out of their house in another 5~10yrs anyway... im thinking of green house tho, solar panels w/batteries to charge for off grid power(lower electricity bill n perhaps start my own EV project in future when my solar project really happens hehe), green roof(plants on roof to lower house heat), create better in house air circulation and indoor water cooler that would b a great home to live in when u dont have to worry much about bills n heat, even noise!

i using ubuntu 8.04 (kernel .21)
if i multitasking it will always not respond.
mean when i open firefox,terminal with ping,helix player.
when i want to shutdown / reboot the whole pc will not respond.then i have to reset my pc.
any way i can use like task manager in windows to reboot?

ps.it cant open terminal when the whole pc is not respond.

pls update your system, not just kernel, i believe latest isnt .21.. for safe reboot, press n hold alt+print screen, follow by R + E + I + S + U + B(press them each individually to kill process n unmount disk, n reboot safely)

tat might sound complicated, but when its total system freeze its the safest way to reboot

im afraid tats not the case, in windows, flash run with little processor effort. but in linux n osx, flash can use over 50% of cpu power, thus ur cpu need to run at higher speed when flash is used.

hrm... i find out that after i install ubuntu under window, it crashes after few days.
is it because of lack of free space on the target drive ???
is it possible ??

just a question, this happens the 1st time it installed on ur laptop?
the software is sane, your canon model? usually canon is reluctant to support linux, i dont fully understand why.. but epson is fine with linux
