ahhh actually there is this super grub disk to help u fix the grub bootloader IF by chance u installed windows first OR by chance your grub/grub2 bootloader failed at some point after installation.
have a look here superGrubdisk

do note that for Ubuntu 9.04 AND before it uses Grub while 9.10 AND onwards uses Grub2

After re-installed Windows 7, Ubuntu cannot boot anymore.
So, I used EasyBCD 2.0; install it in Windows 7, and use it to add Ubuntu in windows 7 bootloader smile.gif

Just wondering: Anyone here used Wubi to install Ubuntu, and did an update, and then suddenly after restart you can't boot into Ubuntu and drop to a BusyBox shell?

Have you consider to use virtualization if your hardware supporting it, and get enough capacity of RAM and harddisk?

eg: use Windows 7 as the sole OS inside your laptop. Then install VMware Server 2.02 and create virtual *nix distro such as Ubuntu 10.04 or PC-BSD 8.1

I'm not a fan of dual-boot actually.. To each his own preference I think..

Believe me, virtualization nowadays a norm for modern computers and servers.

If you have time, spend free time to research on this. For starter, you can try use Oracle VirtualBox which is free and easy to use.

VMware Server 2.02 also free, if you could get little workaround to run it on Windows Vista or later.

Even VMware ESXi 4.1 is free, too.

Thanks, but that's a solution to a different problem :/

Nevermind that, I'm asking the Ubuntu forums for answers as well...

edit: Nevermind everything, I finally decided to migrate to a full installation instead of Wubi. Problem solved laugh.gif

well, i'm using debian

but i just ask in this thread

okay?

my questions,
why it's take too much of cpu usage when i trying to copy file from EXT4 partition to NTFS partition?
it's take too long for just 700mb file to finish copying,
it's because need to convert the file type files and it take too much of the cpu usage? loll doh.gif
how to solve this?

see the attachment

from what I read there, and as what you said, it's a bug.

and it doesn't seem they have found a fix for that bug yet.

for now just cross your fingers and patiently wait if there's a fix for that bug.
