Have you tried reinstalling Firefox?

But if you want to try using other browsers, Google Chrome @ Chromium is a good choice for you.

I still got problem XD
I'm learning about copy, move and remove file from here
Can  you explain or give me a more specific example instead of the general example shown in the guide?
The command that I don't understand are listed below.
1. cp file1 file2 file3 directory
2. cp file1 dir1 (what's the difference between this and cp file1 file 2?)
3. cp -R dir1 dir2 (what's the difference between between this and cp file1 file 2?)
4. mv file1 file2 file3 dir1
5. mv dir1 dir2 (what's the difference between this and mv file1 file2?)
6.  rm -r dir1 dir2 (what's the difference between this and  rm file1 file2?)
Thank you.

1. Copy file1, file2, file3 from your working directory into destination directory

2. Copy file1 into dir1. Difference with "cp file1 file2" is that it copies file1 and file2 within the same directory

3. copies directories along with its contents. not the same with cp file1, file2 because it copies whole folders instead of single files

4. Moves files file1, file2, and file3 into dir1

5. command not valid because for this you have to use mvdir instead of mv. mv only for files

6. deletes contents of folders dir1 and dir2 recursively, which means deletes the directory itself along with contents. "rm file1 file2" only deletes file1 and file2 within your working directory.

Just wondering, I had Ubuntu installed on my laptop using Wubi. Then today I transferred the hard disk of the laptop into another laptop of the same model - except that it uses an AMD Turion64 TL-56 x2 1.8GHz, whereas the laptop I took it out from is using an AMD Turion64 TL-58 x2 1.9GHz.

What I would like to know is that is it possible for me to select and run Ubuntu when I come across the OS selection menu? I tried, but I can't load anything.

Do I have to reconfigure anything to make it work again as it should?

EDIT: Nevermind, I seem to have solved that issue... or rather, it didn't need any solving at all. Just a slow bootup which made me wait rclxub.gif

Did you install Ubuntu via Wubi? Because from what I read Ubuntu installations done by Wubi does not support hibernation sad.gif

theres no such thing as mvdir and issuing mv dir1 dir2 is totally valid.. by issuing that command, dir1 will be copied into dir2 along with their contents if dir2 is already exist.. if dir2 is not yet created/exist, dir1 will be renamed to dir2 wink.gif

ah I see. noted, thx for the correction tongue.gif

Just wondering: Anyone here used Wubi to install Ubuntu, and did an update, and then suddenly after restart you can't boot into Ubuntu and drop to a BusyBox shell?

Sorry. I never use wubi before, so, can't really help  blush.gif

Perhaps this can help you? http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/20340/how-t...ntu-bootloader/

Thanks, but that's a solution to a different problem :/

Nevermind that, I'm asking the Ubuntu forums for answers as well...

edit: Nevermind everything, I finally decided to migrate to a full installation instead of Wubi. Problem solved laugh.gif

from what I read there, and as what you said, it's a bug.

and it doesn't seem they have found a fix for that bug yet.

for now just cross your fingers and patiently wait if there's a fix for that bug.
