hmm..but acoustic sets damn noisy leh... sad.gif..later my wife ki siao..hahaha..if acoustic set any good recommendations for RM3K?..
*
If acoustics set, you can get quite a decent kit for 3k. Depends if you're wiling to go for 2nd hand.

Actually starting on e-kit is not bad in my opinion. If you're not going professional and playing just for fun, you can treat it as an electronic drum rather than thinking that its an acoustic drum. Even if you plan to go further into acoustics later, starting on ekit gives you the basic of drumming and then later when you change to acoustics, you just need to adjust to the acoustics which is not difficult if you already practiced on ekit.

Also there are acoustic-electronic hybrid kit but its complicated for beginners. smile.gif

I am just talking out of experience..
e-drum hi-hat and crash/cymbals are really limited.. Just a few kind of sound.. You use 5A, 7A or whatever.. Broomstick also can.. Whack it, sound is the same..

For an interesting music (At least for me), your beat is consistent, but the sound is not boring..
With 1 kind of sound, after a few month, you will get bored with that kind of sound.. Could not get further by exploring how you hit to get what type of sound, bcuz it is so robotic.. Hahaha
*
true true.. the main weakness of e drum is the cymbal

just buy the ones that served ur purpose..do you like playing on an e kit for 24 hours per day. or an acoustic kit that u have to wait like 5-8pm baru dapat main (in my case la, x soundproof bh my room). haha

oh and dont forget, got gila hebat drummers that doesnt have drum kit lagi leh. hahaha. they just listen, tap and go jamming.

or practice pad only. hehe.
*

im staying in terrace house. Bought an acoustic drum. during daytime i play abit louder but not too loud. Just enough for me to practice the timing, stroke, and accents. Its do help to play soft as I find its harder to control when u trying to play soft. But at night, i slap all the silence pad. then just learn rudiments...
*
during daytime ppl dun mind? Also when hit the crash and other loud stuff actually the next door can hear u or not?

I mean I really don't get the technique, like heels up or heel toe etc2. Just don't know if the method I'm using is correct. But i can't get to play it :/
*
when u play normal kick, what technique do u use? Stick with that first. The other tecniques like heel toe and stuff is great but will only confuse you if u think about it too much at beginning stage..

heel up means your heel wont be touching pedal. U mean then u lower your heel then it will pain?

Weird because heel up u play with your whole leg. Unless you take up your heel and play with your ankle part only. Thats a different technique when ppl go very hgh speeds.

Dont try to go fast first. Try to be consistent with your double bass. No use able to play fast but not in tempo.

WA. Pro arh? tongue.gif I not pro lah.

Any notes or songs we can listen or see? I think I know what you're talking about.
The galloping beat is it?
Ya something like that but the hand is doing 8th notes on the hi hat. How do you coordinate a triplet on the feet with eighth note on the hat. The triplet cant even with the eigth note duno where the middle note of triplet shud be.

QUOTE(Bonescythe @ Jan 9 2011, 11:20 PM)
Hmm, You can try listening to Paramore - That's what you get
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kz6hNDlEEg

The intro - 1st verse and bridge had some nice challenge on the bass drums..
Try to get it right.. smile.gif
Ya but how do i do it?

Ya but i mean mean in triplet u wil count as --> tri - pe - let ...

Then eighth notes u will count as --> 1 + ...

The 'tri' will hit the same time as '1'

then 'let' will hit somewhere after '+'

the question is 'pe' i shud hit before the '+' of after?

Bro smile.gif

I believe that you can't really say that there is a wrong technique, and I believe that many people here will agree. Many professional drummers, use both, or even more techniques for different applications.

From a thread on DW, George Kollias thread:

Heel down:
Great balance
Speed (cause your ankle is not "locked")

Heel up:
Power
Control

Besides that, you also have heel toe, the ankle technique and so on. Different drummers swear by different techniques. Personally, I use both, for different applications. And the truth is, we're all different smile.gif

Anyway, I feel that sure, with a single kick you can do 140-160bpm and so on, yes. But why push it when you can use double kicks? tongue.gif
*
True.. actually i use heels up also and my heel is not 30 degree of 45 but actually quite close to the ground. However ;lately i got this pain on the top part of my right foot not sure if its link to my technique

Probably you are right. But for me personally, heel down really could not give a good kick because there is a feeling of not enough power in the kick.. (Not in a good position to deliver a good kick). But again, that is for me.. I do not know about others.. But I am sure that most of you guys here use Heel up..

By the way, i can do around 220+ bpm using a single kick smile.gif
*
220+ 16th notes or 8th?? 16th then you're GOd

Even if 8th notes you're still awesome...

Hmm.. Why it is not possible??
It is kicking 220+ times in 1 minutes (60 second), around 4 kicks / sec.

If got chance for a gathering with a drum set, then maybe I will show u live. (Lolz)
But my weakness is my left side of my limbs only. My left hand, left leg all cacat (but not noob  brows.gif  brows.gif )..Just cannot be as dominant as right hand and leg.
*
Kick 4 times in a sec sounds doable... but try doing it consistently for 1 min.. unless youre doing it only for 1 sec tongue.gif

Yea, of course can hang for more than 1 minute. Can go with that for a song or 2 smile.gif
But usually this kind of kicking is played on Metal songs, or they call it blast beat...

Usually my songs do not need blast beat...and it is not metal..

Yes and no. Some are very stable as they have a frame around the pedal link that goes all the way to the floor - they're designed so that you have more floor space for, say, a double pedal.
And I don't get what the fuss is about with regards to being able to play really really fast or whatever with one leg. It's a cool achievement, but generally limited to one style of music. If you could do that with all your limbs, on the other hand... or better yet play to the groove... Take the time to work out your left leg, and you'll be surprised at what can spontaneously happen when you're jamming.
*
can u pla 220bpm 16th on one foot liek boner?
His 1 leg is faster than me using 2 legs.. shocking.gif

and i thnk he calculated wrongly.. he said 4 kicks in a sec but if 16th on one foot 220bpm would be around 14 kicks in one second wif his right foot.
