QUOTE(major_panic @ Dec 12 2010, 05:40 PM) Well that's why, as isaac said, you've gotta wear hearing protection when you're in it - or in-ear monitors to hear everyone else. Our church here has one - almost fully enclosed, with a roof! a roof!, and it's an absolute Thats why most churches in advance country get electronic drums there. Maybe u shud suggest to your churchAdded on December 12, 2010, 5:43 pm Very true, although if the studio's small I tend just to play a bit quieter and go without earplugs. I'd personally never 'just follow the bassist' as I like to react to what the guitars and vocals are doing, but that's just me. I am glad that everyone's using hearing protection, though! I learned almost too late... |

QUOTE(AhBoy~~ @ Dec 12 2010, 09:22 PM) acoustic is cool but i think church will prefer electronic becos the volume can be controled.. its not as if church is a rock concert...as for which set, of course go for the best the church can afford. As churches are rich, i think can go for Roland td20. This way the drummer wont complain so much and also the church get a great drumset which is a good investment compare to getting an entry kit |

QUOTE(franklooi96 @ Dec 13 2010, 02:21 AM) Well that's why you can hear everything you play, in the maximum sound inside as possible. Why would someone want to hear the maximum sound as possible by enclosing themselves in a plastic cage? I can hear my self maximum without the cage and I dont even want to hear myself maximum. Id rather hear all the instruiments (guiatrs, bass, keyboard, etc) come together as a music. Something like an isolator? And protection so that if someone threw a stone it wont hit your drums. Oh and btw, how the drum shield look like at the back? Is it empty? How's the entrance. |

Hi im looking for a cheap 10 inch tom. Anyone got sell? Doesnt have to be good quality or condition. As long as the shell is intact and looks good will do. The drum head can be smashed to peices or without drum head is fine with me. And also no rust of course.
Its so f***ing difficult to find a 10 inch tom. All i can find is 12 and 13 inch. Willing to pay cheaply for it |

Is this good? I thought of buying it for my practice kit. From what i understand the top 2 bar is for the toms. How about the other bar below the top 2 bar? What is it for? |

Hi im planning to send my drum kit back to malaysia but trying to minimize the number of package to reduce cost.
DO you think that i can fit the 10" tom shell into the 12" tom shell then into the 13" tom shell and then into the 16X18 floor tom shell into the 24X18 bass drum shell? All make into 1 parcel. Possible? |

QUOTE(isaacmiranda7 @ Dec 25 2010, 04:09 PM) Can lah then maybe ill send 2 package.. How about the bass drum and floor tom? U think ok?I could get it discounted, new if you want. 10 into twelve, no problem, 12 into 13, may be a bit tight log, unless you're removing all the lugs? |

How long does it take u to learn the open close hi hat pattern? The one where u hit the hi hat open then close it with your leg quickly then open again and hit then close again. I find it very difficult. Pelase help

QUOTE(Bonescythe @ Jan 2 2011, 10:15 PM) There are 2 possible thing. Sometimes, it is the problem of the hi-hat itself. I had played on lousy hi-hats before, and it sucks. The sound produced is terrible, and you ain't going to develop feeling by playing those lousy hi-hats. The arm up and down is really new to me. WHat is it called? Sounds like a great technique. Ill try look up in you tube.Try to adjust your hi-hat.. Make it "flexible", so that the sound of the hi-hat sounds crispier, and more treble. Another thing, try to time the hit. It is not gonna happen in 1-2 days. Give some patience in trying to hit it correctly. Best method is to hit at a slow rate, like 60-70 BPS. That way, you can know how to hit it, and time the hit accurately. Other than that, the left foot really need some real exercise and training. I have got no doubts in this. It also applies to the left hand as well. If your left hand could not move as fast as your right hand could do, you will have a real "big time" doing x16, or x32 rolls. And the method to repair this weakness it to practice on para-diddles, and then single stroke ( 1/2 using the whole arm, 1/2 using the wrist, I called it up and downs). Means when you want to hit the hi-hat 8 times, your arm only move up and down 4 times only, and your wrist move 4 times, total = 8 times. Kinda hard to explain this here, but if you know what i mean, then that is great. Then ill try practice the hihat pattern slowly. thanks u the best |
