for m15x there is 6-cell battery for AW M15X RM 199.00
and 9-cell battery for AW M15X RM 249.00
if u bought it together with AW M15x just have to add RM102.00
if u get it seperatly i think its more expensive then package....

seems worth it to buy it. Users cannot extend the warranty for the batteries and adapter, right?

It is normal to see Acer offer cheap price for good specification. I only hope that their warranty services can improve.

Try to look out for the "dual channel" word or find out how many pcs of RAM is installed using the RAMMon.

Note: I have not test it because the returnil keep on blocking it as i installed it during the virtual mode is on.

Thanks. is  Acer 5750G worth getting? i don't really trust acer but the sandy bridge is really good
*
My only issue with Acer is the quality and after sales service. Asus should be ok in terms of after sales service, but i am not sure about this.

I heard that Dell laptop purchased here's warranty is valid in Australia.

both acer n asus in malaysia have the same highpoint service centre I think...
*
Indeed, but i am considering about sending to Asus Royal Club rather than highpoint.

@lee_what2004

where have you been? It's been a while.

Do you know any benchmarking software that can be used to measure the Atom processor temperature? Thanks.

I see. Good news then. Dell CompleteCover only does not cover the natural disaster right?

Does it cover failure from overclocking? brows.gif

QUOTE(RigerZ @ Jan 8 2011, 03:23 PM)
I've completed my SPM last year, and now waiting for results. I'm planning to do automotive technology (or mechanical engineering if I cant go for auto. tech.) when I go off to college, so...
1. Any brand
2. Below RM3000
3. Doesnt have to be too powerful, I'm not into gaming that much. But probably I'll need a bit of oomph for those engineering software programs?  tongue.gif Other than that, I'll only need it for surfing, media playing, Microsoft and PDF documents...

Maybe a mid-end dual core processor (e.g Intel i5),
At least 2GB of RAM,
512MB graphics should be more than enough
320GB of space should be more than enough, but extra space is always useful  tongue.gif

4. Maybe a 14'' or 15''
If there any particular models/brands that are reliable and can last long (say, at least 4 years?), regardless of specs BUT below RM3000, do let me know. My Acer desktop already kong-ed after just 3 years  shakehead.gif , but my friend's compatible one is still working since 2006  ohmy.gif .

Asus proves to me that its hardware is the best among all. The only issue i have with Asus are their drivers, especially with their utilities.

How long a laptop can survive? It is dependent much on the owner as well.

im still considering whether to choose xps 14 or n43jq?

any suggestion? =D
*
Is n43jq is Asus?

For me,

Dell is famous for their on site warranty services.

Asus is famous for their hardware quality.

QUOTE(RigerZ @ Jan 8 2011, 07:23 PM)
Asus laptops huh... It's branded like Acer and Dell I suppose? Whats wrong with their drivers and utilities? How long has yours lasted?
But can Acer laptops last long? I'm not really in a hurry, I want to spend my time to make sure I buy the right model.
*
Indeed. I am talking about brand right now. Which models you are going to buy, please do more homework on the model suggestion.

Asus, i am not sure what happen to their drivers since i am only a computing guy rather than a programming guy.

1st incident with Asus driver is when i recommending my friend buying Asus, their webcam display is 180 degrees upside down. Later, the techies in the shop said it is due to the outdated driver.

2nd This time it is my sister desktop. The desktop is powered by Asus motherboard. So, i went and test the software that could be used to benchmark the processor temperature. Guess what? The software suddenly show my processor temperature is 255 degrees in 1 second and their alarm is very noisy. I immediately shut down and disassembled the processor part, which is cooler than my hand. doh.gif

3. I finally able to get my hands on Asus product last month. A 2nd hand Asus T91MT convertible netbook. When COD, everything is fine especially with the hardware. After 2 days of using, the touchscreen suddenly "malfunctioned" despite several time of restarting the netbook. After that, I do recovery to the netbook and everything becomes normal back. After 2 weeks of using it, this time there is a wireless driver problem or bug. unsure.gif It cannot be turned off immediately. The turning off can only take effect upon restarting. Fortunately, it can be on if it is switched off when booting up.

Acer laptop, I am not very sure about their quality for the new series. But i prefer not to choose Asus over Acer. I am using an Acer laptop as well. I guess I am lucky to have it be able to stay with me without major defect after 4 years.
