Some of the questions they ask includes:

-pay
-is training provided
-timing
-location
-benefits

Hah, same answer for the same question.

There is pros and cons to your question. When I was doing HR, I hate candidates to ask questions (especially the ones you mentioned above) before the interview. If they want to ask so much, I might as well interview them over the phone. Once I shortlist someone, they had impressed me from what is in their resume. What remain if for me to access their attitude in which looking at their body language alone when they resposnse to the question "myself" will suffice. I usually hang up on them after the second question.

Why are you here? You need to know about the company. You may start a thread to get the info. List out the plus point about the company as reasons you want to join them.

Myself. It is usually the first question. They are only loking at your presentaton skills. Present with confidence 4-6 sentences should suffice.

Why hire you? List down all your strength and write a 100 word essay. Present that essay when asked.

If the interviewer asked a question: Can you work under pressure?

Judging yourself is new to the industry that you about to get involved in(not much info on the cope of work), which is better answer? Is it wise to answer YES

or

Being honest answering : Never try will never know

Everyone worked under pressure. Pressure does not change if you are in a different industry. In most cases it is working to meet tight deadlines. I am sure you have similar experience in school.

You be surprise they ask you the same thing. A CEO is not a personnel expert. They think of ways to increase business and efficiency. They are least bother with questionares for interviewees. Be prepared for the typical questions.

They just wanted to assess your character. They commonly ask "tell me about yourself" to get the ball rolling. Then they will take the que form there. If they dont find it then they likely as for your opinion about the job function. My reminder is that they want to assess your character so it is important to project confidence. Dont get carried away with it and be a "know it all" type. I am sure you hate those characters too.

Technical questions are not a problem if you know your stuff. If you don not know the material be honest. If you talk like a "tin kosong" you will lose a lot of marks. The more you talk, the more they will laugh, inside their hearts, at your stupidity. So if you dont know your stuff, then brush yourself up for future.

Daccorn,
That is a good way to cover, "Tell me about yourself".

I do not get the passaage that I put in bold below.

How could your do it at the end when you are not the person asking the question? Did you mean you can refer to it again at the end?

QUOTE(daccorn @ Nov 14 2010, 02:46 PM)
1 study what course - and how you are going with it (better if you are going very well)
2 describe the activites you have participated in to show your hardworkingness and events u held to show your leadership. Do not say in this event it can be seen that you have leadership skills. Do it all casually. Do not describe any weakness. Also what you do outside of studies.
3 Lastly you can talk about your career aspirations (which then you can follow up with the reason you applied for the company you are interviewing for and why you want to work for them) this is a tactic to shift the topic to the company profile that yourself (but do this at the end only)

a bit messy but hope it helps

LivingLife, it's very subjective. Also, this thread is dedicated to questions related to interviews. You might want to open a thread for your question.
*

The question is specific to this thread. It had been asked over and over again in this thread. You can even find some answers in the first page itself. I have answer this question here several times too.

QUOTE(LivingLife @ Mar 30 2011, 02:31 PM)
Anyone can help me in answering this question?
What are the factors you actually considered in picking up a job?
*

Do some homework on the company and pick up points from there. If company is public listed it is much easier. Go get their annual report. Look at the chairman statement and get points from there. If not public listed ask friends or as most people do here. Open a "Anyone heard of XYZ Company" thread.

What i am trying to say is..it came up tht some tells u tht they cant offer the salary u expected for. Well, they could at least open up their darn eyes and see the figure b4 simply calling up interviewees 4 an interview, rite?
*

Okay, you quoted the wrong post. rclxub.gif
Nope, they dont do that. They just want to see if you fit the bill first. Then only negotiate with you. It is common.

What type of question will be asked during second interview? First interview is all the common question eg. tell me about yourself, your career goal , why this company etc etc...

The interviewer will be Director of HR division Group...anyone enlighten me please notworthy.gif
Position applied : HR related position.
*

Same as the first interview. Since you are doing HR, you should know the reason for the questions in the first interview. Do you not think most of it will be repeated? On technical type question, expected question on procedure to conduct domestic inquiry.

If the questions repeated, is it the interviewer testing on me wether I am honest or not? check wether my first interview answer same with the second interview brows.gif

For a person in HR you do not impress me with your answer.

1) Tell me about yourself - design to gauge how well a candidate present himself.

2) Career goal - gain information on candidate's aspiration.

3) Why work here - did candidate take initiative to find out more about us or just any job will do.

As a Group HR, I will ask the same things to see for myself if you as good as my Manager had said.

Perhaps you have never done an interview but it does not matter. What matters is you have learned from here. Impressing me is not important. Just do a good job with the Group HR.

Time to put theory to practise. All you need is to get an interview (have you read up on how to ensure that your resume can get you an interview). If you know how to sell your self having no experience is a minor obstacle.

Then you have not read enough. Read up on selling your self.

You can always post your resume here for forumers to comment.
