QUOTE(DDSFan8 @ Jul 25 2010, 01:41 AM) I am leaving my current job now because of mad office politics and also got 2 warning letters from HR. Therefore, I am just worried if my future employer do a reference check on me. What do I do? Did you know why the letters were issue? Did you diserve it? If the answer is yes to both of them, then you already know what you could have done to avoid it in future. These will be the points to answer any interviewer that ask you about it. A bad person may be unsuitable. A bad persn who learnt from the hard way to mend his way is better. This post has been edited by faceless: Jul 27 2010, 04:12 PM

Most companies will ask you to fill out an application form. You can make the changes on the application form. As to the question of why it differs from your resume, there is no way to get out of this boo boo. Whatever you say, if this question is pose to you, you will indicate your sloppiness.

I expected you to follow up with this question but I though the answer is obvious. Have you not seen thread like "Anyone worked in XXX Company?". It is througn digging up on the company that you get good points to say why you will choose them.

There is no model answer to this question Isabelle.
You need to do find out more about the company. If it is a public listed company, you ca go to Bursa site to look at their Annual report and whatever announcement they have made. For small companies, you can put up a thread and ask forummers here if they can tell you anything about the company.
Make a note of the company's strength. Those are the points to answer ths question. Write about 20 lines if you can then select the best 10 lines. If you have no information about the company, whatever answer you give will not impress the interviewer.

QUOTE(sam_dol @ Aug 8 2010, 10:05 PM) Yes that is way of doing it but what if the interviewer decided to test other knowledge? I don't think I can revise every subject that I have learnt in university for the interview. Be honest. It is not difficult to say, "I have not done CAD for some time. It would take me a short time to be up to speed with it again."

QUOTE(Gormaz @ Aug 10 2010, 11:54 PM) I totally agree, I recently had a phone interview where the managed asked me about some skills I am not very familiar with (I am in IT field) and I honestly replied that "to be honest this is not my strongest skillset so I might need to self study a bit to be up to level but I can definitely find out the answers" The boss was fine with it since it was consistent with my resume and what I explained about my previous experiences (which didnt really include the skills he was asking about) I also had to interview people in my previous jobs and I would really really prefer such an honest answer to someone trying to BS his way out while it's obvious he has no idea what he is talking about. This remind me of all the good laugh I had watching candidates make a fool out of themselves. Programming reminds me of the fun I used to have in the early 90s. Back then computer literacy was bad. I would ask if they know BASIC language. Most people will not know I refer to Beginer All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code, and start to entertain me by show their empty vessal. I would had been more impress if there is someone who can tell me, "I could open a file, save it, edit and print it". (It was a rare skill during the text base computer era).

QUOTE(albertcks1988 @ Aug 11 2010, 01:49 PM) what does this question mean?"4. Have you signed a promissory note or an acknowledgement of indebtedness for which the amount pledged has not already been fully repaid?" is car loan included? What that means is have you been a gurantor for a loan. Any kind of loan is included. I am surprise the had this question in your job application form. I have not seen it for a while that the clause is a "dinosaur" today.

Gormaz, Thanks. In music # is called sharp. Yes it means half a note higher as you mentioned. I am not a programmer but it al looks the same to me. I only know BASIC. I dont see a difference between BASIC and Java or C. Loops and conditions with almost the same syntax.
Leongal, That is not a nice way to put it. Cant fit in = not a team player. Not into corporate culture = not adaptable. Under further probe you will end up bad mouthing the company. Eg what part of the culture that you cant accept?
