Yes , i also encounter the same problem if i keep in the pocket ,I have opened the cover to check and found out the battery are

quite loose ( nit tight egough , so suspected may be this caused the problem ) ,So I add a piece of hard board ( Thick paper)

on top of the baterry and problem solve ,No more auto OFF ,I am not sure your problem same like mine ,May be you can try .

Now day already familiar on the portrait qwerty, faster than i using physical keypad on my old phone

anyway if you prefer sms typing, you may consider bigger screen device like HTC Wildfire

Before this I own 5800xm before sell it to my frenz...
which it have 3.2 inch screen..i have problem to text and was so slow..always mistyped..then I fed up trying..ha3..
Based on the specs, samsung galaxy 5 have capacitive touchscreen while 5800xm have resistive touchscreen..
so the response in galaxy 5 are much faster..am I right??

The GPS will follow the car movement.............

whether G5 get froyo still unknown, our info posted here just the rumor.......
Samsung official have not announce anything
since froyo not announce yet, we wont know G5 get multi touch or not, but the chance is very low

android is an OS, it is jz like windows.

so it is normal if it happens to be hanged or freezed or black out for certain time. most of it are due to heavy load of OS wit a lot of services, processes, tasks or running multiple applications without really exit it.

so, it is normal for tis to happen as g5 ram and rom also not reali high if compare to galaxy s or other high end android smart phone.

for me, i did experience quite few times black out, temporary freeze or lagging.. but i think it is normal as i was trying to run high memory consumption apps especially most of the games.

btw, jz make sure dun make ur phone heavy loaded always then shud b alright.
