Hi there, Im new to this forum, I bought this phone 1 month ago in India, really budget phone, the only problems I have found so far are:

If Charging from Wall socket gives better battery load than USB, something weird but true, when charign from wall socket(6 hours plugged) I had 3 days in a row of battery but, while charging thru USB my battery last 1-2 days

Wifi problems with hidden networks, when you are out of range, it simply stops working and althought it connects back browsers cant find websites, at my office we Hide the ssid broadcast of our network and I can barely use the network, at home my router has SSID Broadcast enabled, and the network runs smooth.

Apart from that (I think a Firmware update & Froyo) The phone rocks. I so recommend this phone for a nice Android experience.

Anyone has tried www.samfirmware.com? I found some guides to upgrade the Firmware and I am waiting for the weekend to give it a try, maybe it can fix GPS/Wifi problems mentioned in this topic.

Ill be posting my experiences.

BTW I think everybody Must Try Layar.

See you all soon.

This phone really rocks, for the price, the performance, n specilly for Android,

Thanks to my "wifi problem" I found that the problem at my office is the router it self, not the andoroid phone, I did some test at home with hidden broadcast n worked flawesly, so as a conclution the Galaxy 5 GT-I5503 has no wifi problems for me, 1 ponit for Samsung, and a nice one for andoird, at the end I am fixing something at my work place.

Everytime Im liking more and more this phone..

Good luck guys, read you around!

I use LauncherPro rclxms.gif and that changes the entire phone's look. also ADW both can be found on market, you can check it Here. icon_idea.gif

interested in getting tis phone, so wan to ask is tis phone nice?
of coz cant compare wit those pricey one, but at least i wish to knw is it a good to use phone? user friendly? or any significant problems?

i notice one thing, when type message, the touch screen keyboard (when in vertical position) can be change between qwerty style and normal phone 12 buttons style?

somehow, are most of the apps are supported on the phone? (not concerning abt games)
*
the phone is really nice, its a budget phone with many Hi end phones characteristics. honestly I havent felt I lost my money, like it happened with iPhone, basically u need a Credit Card stuck to the iphone to enjoy some apps.

The android thing is amazingly nice, flexible and seems to grow, the phone's look n touch is really nice.
Im more happy with this phone than my BB, Nokia, iPhone, Sony.

Welcome to the club! and btw, I think, bigger screen = less battery duration, mine last upto 3 days. so I guess nothign is complete, even in big screen phones.

anyway, 170mb internal memory is it ample enough for some useful apps like dictionary, file manager, gps, office suite, booster related, and others useful software?
*
well, for internal memory, we have 2 thngs coming. one is App2SD but froyo will let all this happen, the good thing is that there are some rumours about Froyo for this phone in november. then the internal memory may not be an issue any longer, as far as I have experienced, its just fine.

Lets see how it goes.

Cannot download the apk directly from g5? I've tried n it shows cannot download due to unsupported type
*
Try downloadin the file into the SD, browse the file n tap on it.

i havent had any issues with amrkets and G5 humm but applanet app had to be installed form SD the 1st time. after that it has been updated often.
