Nope, last time rumoured said that 2.0.1.358 MIGHT remove sideloading, but after the update seems like the rumour was misinterpreted, sideloading will not be stopped.

The rumoured came from a tweet from a RIM director (forgot which department) saying they will reinforce the security so that piracy will be reduced... So ppl thought it was sideloading will be removed. But no, they won't remove sideloading.

Sure there are android apps which doesn't work... Some failed when being sideloaded, some cannot be started. But those you downloaded must be working ones (because if it doesn't work, no one will upload the converted file).

It is easy to sideload... Just google and first few results are there. Hassle free, can sideload via usb or wifi also can.

Do note that the android player is NOT an android running in a playbook, it is just an emulator to run android apps, so some won't work and once in awhile will freeze/hang but very rarely, though I am sure OS2.1 will address the bugs, hopefully.

I find no reason for me to ipad even the screen... Cuz typing and holding the playbook is definitely easier and more comfortable on a 7" screen. Some more iPad not 16:9, viewing videos with black bars... not my cup of coffee.

My playbook back cover got problem, Need to press tight if Not the backlight will dim all the time.

If I send to warranty, possible to get it fixed in a week? Or need 3-4 weeks?

Some might have bought the playbook without a blackberry phone... or, they got it as a gift and don't need a tablet.

I never seen any playbook selling in Malaysia openly... Not even some blackberry concept store. Maybe it is harder to sell. Well, they open shops for profit not for promoting good stuff so yeah can't blame them.

There are a lot of blackberry phone users in Malaysia, you can blackberry phones almost everywhere. But for playbook, most people don't really know the existence of this awesome tablet, when I show them they ask me "wow what android is this running, so smooth one?"

RIM should advertise their tablet more.

Because china tabs are dirt cheap (both selling price and dealer price), imagine around RM700 can get an android 4.0 tab with dual core etc. But of course, these looks fugly, thick, bad screen, QC etc. They still sell them because many people still buy.

While playbook uses their own OS, originally more expensive (was priced at RM1499 for 16GB) and lack of advertisement. Though, playbook is quite well known in vietnam and indonesia. In US too.

Any way, I am quite glad that not too many people using playbook because, I feel so exclusive using playbook. People in the street, starbucks, all holding an iPad or a galaxy tab but I am holding something different, and people stare at my screen in the LRT when seeing me multitasking while surfing all those.

To quote Crackberry Kevin's words, BlackBerry doesn't need to compete with other brands. Those who know how good is BlackBerry will get it. It's another league out there, if 1 out of 10 people is using BlackBerry, we are all good.

Android is suitable for phones but not tablets. Really messy using an android tablet especially the half baked multitasking. Such a pain to use.

Need to wait 3 weeks before I get my playbook back. Sigh

I leave my playbook with airplane mode, 10 hours only less than 5% drain...

358 update is not the culprit because my playbook is at 358 and no drain like yours.. Probably your battery problem.

Or try to set the email push to push instead of manual. I heard that bug existed in older OS but not sure still existing

the logo there is the processor, it is normal for it to get hot when you use it for long, doesn't matter.

Don't have sim card slot... If you have a blackberry phone you don't need 3G playbook, because bridge will give your internet access and no quota.

If you are not using blackberry phone also can tether from other phones... But if you really want to use 3G Sim in playbook then have to wait for playbook 4G, probably 4th quarter of 2012 (no idea yet)

Don't buy tab 10.1. Its screen is large yes, but feels kinda cheapo and the OS is totally uhhh... I know because my friend has it.

PB OS wins hands down.

you will love it more if you have a blackberry phone but as long as you can tether from your phone it's still good.

Trust me, you won't look at other tablets when you've got a playbook Though at the current moment there is still lacking some major apps, but rest assured, they are coming!

Just got back my playbook from brightstar RMA, they gave me a new one. Sigh have to restore my backup, it's a painnn

7 daya to be exact, my friend's bold 9780 sent back for RMA at the same time for faulty LCD, got back just in 8 days time with lcd replaced.

BTW you guys should try OS 2.1 beta, android multitasking is awesome and android player is so smooth now.
