QUOTE(7777 @ Apr 29 2012, 06:14 PM) Let me try converting the android version see if it works.ADD ON: Just tried. Doesn't work. Force close error. PPTV works (not PPS). Though not so many videos there. You can download the BAR file here http://www.mediafire.com/?999zhnan99c92pm This post has been edited by zellleonhart: Apr 30 2012, 12:22 AM |

By all means get the 64GB one. Only 1.1~1.2k for 64GB, and I never regretted this decision

What's wrong with releasing OS2.1? DO NOTE that BB10 will release in October 2012, not now. And that friend's colleague is definitely blowing water, as there is no BB10 released at the moment, even the Dev Alpha BB10 device is still running a Playbook OS with capability to run cascade apps (not a BB10 device still).
Please, do some homework before ranting. |

QUOTE(kentchow75 @ May 7 2012, 11:15 PM) Oh I see. Thanks for telling me that moshpit. Sorry, I apologize, not to sound harsh here. So, GPS is already inside, or need to bridge connection only can use? Seems like Playbook had a lot of features disabled without bridge-ing with a BB, isn't it? Hmm not really, GPS is already built in, no need bridge to work. Without bridge you lost BBM, bridged notes, tasks, calendar and contacts which is not so important for non-BB users. But the most useful thing is bridged internet. Practically free + unlimited under BIS usage. |

QUOTE(kentchow75 @ May 7 2012, 11:50 PM) It's okay. ^^ Does not need internet but most GPS apps still need internet to get map details like google maps, etc. And playbook GPS is kinda slow to be detected/locked so I don't really use it.GPS is already built in, in meaning that does it need Internet Connection for it to work? (Like iPad do) If not, it's really awesome. Being bridged the internet, I thought it was limited under quota of the BB's internet plan? Like let say 3gb Smart plan by Digi For your information, the bridged internet is considered BIS, anything under BIS is not subjected or limited to any quota. I am using maxis RM20 BIS Bonus prepaid, only 100mb 'quota' but every month I use 2~3GB with bridging to playbook |

QUOTE(kentchow75 @ May 8 2012, 12:21 AM) Eh, that seems fantastic! How come it doesn't deduct from the usage of internet service of the phone's plan? For your info, anything under BIS is unlimited except streaming and tethering on the phone. But bridging to playbook is not considered tethering, it's a special connection via bluetooth, and all internet usage in PB are under BIS, so unlimited!Instead, where do PB get it's data from if bridge with BB but not using BB's data quota? |

QUOTE(kentchow75 @ May 8 2012, 12:58 AM) Watching youtube non-stop no problem right.Ā What about the speed? According to the network which the BB is onto? (3G/2G) Can stream youtube 480p, if 720p also can but just need to wait it to load first. My friends with ipad and android tabs need to buy separate sim card and plan but I don't This post has been edited by zellleonhart: May 8 2012, 01:32 AM |

QUOTE(kentchow75 @ May 8 2012, 09:46 AM) Wow, that seems so tempting... You have a 9780, they will make good friends Just lost my iPad weeks ago and feel like replacing it with another tablet to myself. Now I really want to have a Playbook, with my BB9780. Taking account to that my BB doesn't support OS7, Wifi Hotspot, Playbook is the best choice for me to surf with my BB together. Should get 1 right now or wait.... Now PB is quite cheap, 64GB is only RM1.1-1.2k. I suggest you take the 32/64gb |

QUOTE(kentchow75 @ May 8 2012, 11:16 PM) How long did the iPad was left alone at the table? lol Looks like you didn't got the news, it was announced long ago that the next playbook is nothing more than a playbook with additional 4G/LTE compatibility.Mine was just like 5 minutes not in sight, then gone. Gotta becareful, snatchie everywhere Owh, you guys don't say, I feel so tempting to get a one... It will look exactly the same except the sim card slot, and for your info, most probably 1.5GHz dual core (as opposed to current 1.0GHz dual core) but it's using a similar processor, just higher clock rate. Will not affect much because the current playbook is already so smooth. RAM, same, 1GB, the rest all same (screen, OS, buttons, etc). AND WORST IS: new playbook will have lower battery life (4xxx mAh compared with current 5300mAh). So the new playbook conclusion: -More like a ipad 2 Wifi vs ipad 2 Wifi + 3G scenario, not ipad 2 vs ipad 3 -It is not a playbook 2, it is just a current playbook with sim card -faster clock rate, similar processor -lower battery life -expensive And oh yea, my 64GB playbook is less than 1 month old, already 17GB used. Cuz can play PS1/gameboy/SNES/SEGA games... and play all HD videos etc. Fills up quite fast! This post has been edited by zellleonhart: May 9 2012, 02:05 AM |

QUOTE(kentchow75 @ May 9 2012, 10:53 PM) Just whatsapp him, no more SP ady ): lol bro, you know how much was playbook when it was just launched? 499USD for 16GB, that's like RM1.5k++ for 16GB, and 699 USD for 64gb (RM2.1k++).Oh really? He's quite cool in his conversation. Wonder if he's in busy or what. Good thing with the Eastern Language there! =) How much you got for it? I though 1199 was actually average price, not the cheapest "The BlackBerry PlayBook with Wi-Fi will come in three models, featuring 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of storage at $499, $599 and $699 respectively” Now it's like RM1k cheaper... Hahaha that's why I say don't buy the 4G Playbook, because most probably will be priced at $499/599/699 too... |

QUOTE(mixologist84 @ May 9 2012, 11:18 PM) hi folks, how hard is it to convert apk to bar? can some one try it for me? i converted it http://www.mediafire.com/?png4adc6isp8wazim looking at the leaked flipboard for android works, smooth but dunno why it keeps force close when I come out from twitter page, etc. You will notice the frequent force close. It is definitely pleasant for the eyes but not full function enough to replace facebook/twitter/google reader apps, because caching and backtracking is a pain. But good to flick through once in awhile. |
