started Villain rom flawlessly - but now its informing that some launcherpro has expired and opened the browser to launcherpro.com ...

i haven't setup the phone so its a dead end - can enter the menu either .. ideas?
*
This is one of the problem (Or could be the only one) of this SuperVillain ROM. What happen is the ROM only comes with LauncherPro as default UI and the apk file is not updated. You need to somehow renew the LauncherPro.apk via web in order to get pass the activation page.

What I did was, i took an updated LauncherPro.apk and paste into the SuperVillain ROM zip file, and flash the zip file over. Through this way I will not face any problem.

Hope this helps.

done that put the launcherpro. apk under the systems winzip file and reinstall ... still have error .. this time reoccuring force close error over and over ... sad.gif
*
How you did the reflash process?

My step was:
1) Double click on SuperFinal-signed.zip > System > App
2) Copy the updated LauncherPro.apk (Renamed to com.fede.launcher-1.apk) and paste into the directory above
3) Boot ur phone into recovery and flash over (As if flashing a new ROM)
* You may need to wipe all and reflash if you still encounter FC problem

how come after rooting and using AuraX .. and moving every single app to SD - i still got a mere 33MB .. = (

that also i have not sync anything with Outlook Contacts, FB and Google Calendar ... sigh* back to square 1 ?

i have not also installed any external softwares / apps yet ... = (
*
You dont have A2SD+ yet bro. Partition your SD card using ROM manager.
And remember, with A2SD+, you dont need to move apps to SD manually, everything is auto.

It is smooth. But sometimes draining the battery for no reason (maybe some other apps causing it)

HTC Desire is still a great phone, and it's attracting some curious iPhone 4 users as well flex.gif
*
You may try SuperVillain, personally i felt the battery life difference is obvious compare to AuraxTSense8.0.

It is a std sandisk 2G.... does it make a different if i change to a higher capacity 1? i use the advance task killer to stop all the background running apps but feel slow also.
Thanks a lot for the help... Desire user are so helpful...

I think i stick to froyo 1st.
Later if cannot tahan then only flash
*
Ya, Desire can handle the process running in background automatically.
Some reports say that using task killer on Desire will slow down the performance.

And no need to rush for flashing custom ROM bro, I was on standard android 2.1 for 2 months before, learned and explored enuf then only moved to custom ROM smile.gif

eventhough have set the default to just charge it still will mount the sd, this is troublesome
*
Do you have winamp installed? There is a default setting under it which auto mount the SD card. Check this.

hi.. would like to ask.. i planning to buy a 2nd desire.. found a guy using iphone interface MIUI.. does this means its been root? n warranty oso void? any1 can help? advice? TQVM
*
Yes, the phone must be rooted in order to install MIUI ROM. In terms of the warranty, if it is direct warranty under SIS (So-called "Original" warranty), the phone will no longer under warranty once rooted.

Anyone use their desire with papago voice navigation..? Do you experience sound like something broken after the voice navigation say the direction..?
*
It is a known-issue on papago X5 running Android 2.2, I call it the *clap* sounds rclxms.gif

Someone in this forum mentioned he managed to solve this problem by encoding all the sounds files, which I dont know how to go about. (Dunno which encoder to use).

You may try voice navigation in Cantonese (If you understands smile.gif ), the Cantonese voice works well without the clap sounds on my Desire.

the guy claimed that i can root it back to default n claim sis warranty if anything happen.. is the miui rom ok? cz he's selling at a very attractive price.. tq
*
Technically speaking, once the phone is unroot back to its original state (By installing the original ROM), you should be able to claim warranty as there will be no track on the phone that it had been rooted before.

MIUI ROM is one of the many custom ROMs out there, personally i would say it is still a good ROM if you can live without Sense.

Since the phone is already rooted, you can always flash to other custom ROM if you found that MIUI is not suit to your usage and preference.

Hi folks, I juz bought my desire recently, please add me in the user list as well cheers.gif

Since I'm the newbies in android phone, may i know is it any risk to root my slcd desire with HBOOT 0.93? It's running at stock froyo and i do not want to flash to any custom firmware yet. I juz intended to root it tat's all. I have read the unrevoked tutorial and still not confident to root my desire as it downgraded my HBOOT. Can someone explain to me how can it be done by rooting a Hboot 0.93 desire?

In addition, may I know what is the common gps software use on andorid? Heard papago is good, but where do i find it? Can someone pm me please.

Thanks in advance ^^
*
I am not using SLCD so I cant guide you, may be some other taiko here could help.

May I ask, what are you expecting on your Desire by just rooting but not flashing to custom firmware?

You using SuperVillain with LauncherPro? Everything working fine? Mine got lots of problem..force close issues, lagging, and sometimes the dock will even sink down under the screen.  rclxub.gif
I think its LauncherPro problem instead of the rom... frustrated by the lack of updates of LP.....
*
Yes, am using LauncherPro Plus v0.8.1.1 on SuperVillain.

I replaced the LP.apk in the SuperVillain ROM zip file before flashing over. Everythings works fine till now.
