Oh.......loading your IG troops in Chimeras are really good now compared than b4.....somehow the Chimeras take reduced damage from slug-throwing weapons and its like....The only thing that knocks it is AV and even then the troops inside can kill the enemy b4 it gets a chance to blow up the chimera.....

The Storm Boyz and Shoota Boyz are gonna me mincemeat if there is no way for them to get close. In the vid, you did notice that the Orks were getting mowed down so fast till they had no time to say "wwwaaaaggg........."



Vapourize, there were still a couple of SM boyz still standing around and besides that looks like its gonna be their baneblade. You cant have a Monolith go down with just a few shots. Thats like relic crying out loud " We love SM and no other" and besides its a Monolith....a Monolith....its got to be worth something since its always used by the Necrons.

Yeah i still play Generals....IMO, the GLA rock.....nothingnlike listening to that GLA background music and waging war. Intense.....but for realistic modern warfare....i play AOW:DA-HT. Thats a hell of a RTS game as well.

Dude, if logon to Gamespy, the game will automatically download your patch and update the system. There's no need to download manually unless you dont have internet at home like me.

I would suggest to go to fileplanet.com and download the patches from there....registration is free for downloads. I've downloaded all my patches for various games from that site. The corrupted message is due to file corruption during download.


Well the WA campaign makes you use different tactics for each map...which is good and what i like is that you make use of the Rhino alot in the campaign then in multi.
www.dowsanctuary.com is a good place to read about the races strat.

There's a surprise when you fight the last map.....and the other suprise is how easy one race deals with that final suprise on the last map for the campaign. Try it out.

I like to finish the campaigns as i like the storytelling in a game and it kinda gets you attached to a certain race in the game. Like how i love Orks so much.....

dude...no need to "respect" so much"....my skills in the Ork are not legendary like santiago4ever. Give me a day or two to process this and give you a good strat. I dont normally play on this map....i tend to love playing on Saint's Square.

Well, i'll post my answer soon.

Its quite simple actually.

SM - completely dominant in range and decent Melee capability. They are like the US in Generals. Disrupting them is difficult.

Chaos - Completely insane and fearless. Tactics are more of melee in style but can use a combination of range and melee. Used skillfully, there's no way to top off a Chaos player. Not much range. But devastating melee.

Eldar - the ultimate hit and run race. Able to cause massive damage in one area and disappear and then re-appear at another location to totally put you off your strat. Ultimate ambush race. (I think the Tau will change this)

IG - Defensive all the way. Only way they make it alive is by numbers and heavily supported by vehicles and buildings. Their tactics is to creep and win.

Orks - Your mayhem race. IMO this race is the most microintensive race. Orks rule in numbers.....once they overrun you, its all over....pushing back the Ork tide is utterly difficult and stand next to near impossible. Brute melee is the game with Orks. Range is only so-so.


Well, its more of liking to one race and really understanding how they play that makes them great....I play well with Orks but i suck with Eldar. No matter what i do, i cant play with eldar...i used too but now i cant.

So my advice is try out using each race and fight a human player, then you will see which race brings you glory well. Stick with that race. With 2 more races coming out, you can trust me that fighting 2v2 is gonna be alot different. Just have a tingling notion about that.




Well, dude i have no one to DOW with as well but i enjoy finding new DOW players to clash in war with. True RTS veterans dont resort to mindless games like DOTA. hehehe

I doubt i will change my mind dude. Im quite anti-DOTA that i really hate that damn game. sorry but being honest here.

Massing Orks is fun and devastating but remember once you lose your mob is gonna be game over, os try to always maintain a consiederable amount of Orks.

You can split but not 2 big groups.....you may wanna have one big mob and 1 squad of fully re-inforced Nobz squad going and capping other points or destroying other points.

DO NOT engage before the first priest in out on CS. If all things goes well u should win a SP. Knowing the drill of massing and lining ur men in shortest time possible is the key here.

Fortify and tech by then.

Special case scenario:
In Dread peak the gay map... u have the extra option of fortifying center CP for a take and hold. Send ur TP in the beginning to build IC in the front besides the cp and ur first GM to cap the CP. Then fortify it with mass turrets (about 8+ gradually) and ICs (atleast 2) while do gurilla warfare on the rest of the map. Just hold ur breath for the last 30 secs... usually it is like a movie scene as ur desperate opponent storm the peak, Just remember to control ur turret for the buggers decaping ur cp.

Well everyone is a Ork hater....cant help it but i almost never see someone who starts this game end up playing Orks more often than the other races. I think its because Orks use such simple technology that ppl aint attracted to them.

Well, ill check it out for the conversation. IG = turtling. There is no other way. They are created to do just that. That was what the devs themselves said, so there is no point b****ing about it. The devs wanted RTS players of various strats to play this game including the turtling players. Now if a SM guy plays turtle, then he should be shot. IMO there's no reason for a SM to turtle.

Well looks like they have never played Stronghold, where its all about sieging your enemies base. That game was great. Limited army and resources and dthey tell you to go and kill the Lord in that keep who has limitless resources and massive armies.

Okay boyz, firstly Im sorry we clashed the BF2 and DOW LAN sessions. Aoshi thanks for the good session for BF2, we will love to play with you in the future but i hope you guys dont mind playing at Clutch as there's BF2 and DOW there.

I beg to differ. I believe that Orks have is more micro intensive cause their entire gameplay has to be about how effectively to attack your enemy. In the case of Eldar, hitting Tab-f is just for their FOF. its more of turning it on and off. Orks needs everything thought out carefully and moved carefully to fight an enemy faster than us. Try moving a squad of shootas from a jumped in pack of ASMs. the way we run, almost the entire squad is gone before it can run. Microing against a fast enemy is difficult.

Why play chaos?
1) Your units sound sinister
2) You are evil, evil will always triumph because good is dumb (Jk)

Core standard Build que:
Heretic > cultist > cultist > cultist (3rd cultist optional depends on map size, take on large map)

First heretic build chaos chapel barrack (rax), when second heretic comes out help to build the barrack together. If you think you can control things around you can use the force labour to speed things up, but if heretic reached 0hp he will die so take note.

Send your cultists to cap the points from nearest to furthest. Heres the trick, while the cultist is capping a point u can select it while holding shift select the next point so when this point is done ithey will auto go to the next, save ur trouble.

When chaos rax is built command ur heretic to go to the nearets caping point to stand by for building LP. On chaos rax build one raptor squad. By now ur culist should finish capping the first point so build ur first LP. At this point ur raptor should either already come out or just about to come out. Anyway as soon as u get enough req que chaos lord on rax. When the raptor comes out send them hunting, now this is important, DO NOT reinforce them (adding squad member) as this will slow down all the que behind, lets stick with basic first. At the early stage of games reinforce ur squad only then 1) They have been in combat and losing unit (which u should not coz their job is to harrass, not search and destroy, yet) 2) You are expert and know what u are doing


Raptors
Now the primary job of the raptors is NOT going around killing weak units. Their maximum potential damage lies in economy disruption. Soon as the raptors jump zone reaches the out limits of ur enemy territoty jump them and attack any one caught still capping points. If the point is cap but not LPed decap them first dont go around chasing scouts or the like. After you decap the points continue searching the inner part of the enemy zone until no more points can be decap only u should go and chase scouts.

At this point ur Chaos Lord should be about to come out and u should be doing the second LP already, remember to sent ur heretic to the next lp point when they are done, it can be done with the SHIFT key trick too.

Chaos Lord
Chaos Lords are warriors who have within them the will, skill and strength to be the greatest of Mankind's heroes. Their tragedy is that they have chosen to be Mankind's greatest nemesis.

Now the deal with chaos lord (CL) is simple: He is the baddest ass in the game Nothing in the game in Tier one can go 1v1 on him and left standing after the fight, yes, any hero caught 1v1 melee clean fight with CL is dead automatically. Only the IG Command squad with 2 priests have the slightest chance of beating a CL in a fair fight, but it is highly unlikely. And did i mentioned his axe is poisoned so any one touched by it is slowed down?


Chaos Space Marines
By this time ur second LP should be done and soon as u hit 190req order the chaos space marine (CSM) squad from the chaos rax and rally ur rax to ur CL. CSM are excellent Tier one warrior for 1) They have sinister laugter and quite durable 2)large squad size max squad size of 10.

By this time ur raptors should have kick the bee hive in the center and enemy units/champion are chasing after them in swarm. have them link up with ur CL and bash them back. If they proved to be too much back off and wait for ur csm to regroup. With the 2 Lps ur req should be going quite fast now. build 2 more lps and start reinforcing ur raptor and csm squad, if possible build another csm squad (depending whether u built the 3rd cultist squad or not)

The charge

Group ur CL as one as group one, CSM as squad 2 (press F2 for range stance so they stand and shoot instead of going in and melee) and raptors as squad 3 and proceed to kill the AI, ask ur cultist to come too if they are standing around and doing nothing (actually group anyway u like long as u are comfortable, the above is my default). When engage, send ur CL to his boss, ur raptor to his main shooter unit and ur CSM to pick up the rest, if u find urself having extra req build power and armory.

This is the very very basic chaos play and u should able to kill a standard space marine AI in small map with ease. Master this, then we can go to the next level.

Well, before to patch it means original. but now you can patch the game and use the crack..the trick is to patch the game all the way to 1.5 and then crack it. Thats what i had one of my friend do..

However in the CC....unable to log on to gamespy cause of patch means fake CD.....well will check in detail when im in clutch again.

Well im passionate about the games i play and the people that share the same passion. Atleast we have a steady crew here who participates in DOW sessions. Im trying to get the other boyz i know to come and join the fun as well. need some time rounding them up. Yeah....i was so noob back then...still am now....well i tried some experimental strats then which backfired.....did you notice the second game i played as eldar and moved my base (enemy didnt even know where i went....hahhahha) in the first few seconds while fighting but was unable to keep the econ up that caused my downfall. well i tried.



Dude.....playing the Orks to finish the Necrons was the easiest.....make sure you fully upgrade your Nobz with PowerKlawz.....and let them break that monolith apart and at the same time hit their necron warriors with wartrukks. I had a blast using the Orks compared to the rest.

Orks is not lousy...its just that they cant seem to hold out attacks as well as other races that irrates me. The buff youre talking about is the Storm boyz buff and the BM as well.




You should. In DOW, every patch makes or breaks a strat.

Absolutely correct. Warpspiders are the Orks worst enemies. I cant stand an Eldar player that spams WS but we all have our strats.

I think relic's move to sell their titles this way is good....it will entice new owners to buy the other races once they get a taste of DOW. what i like about this tactic is that those that buy DC alone will not be able to play the other races except for the necrons and tau....they will surely be wanting to buy the other titles to try out the other races. Good going relic.

Looks like you might not need DOW to run DC... (i think)

Well, i will definately get all three titles.....i believe relic has won my allegience to them....regardless of all the whining DOW gamers around the world give them and also the need to release patches that will better the experience of playing DOW, they have maintained their support for DOW.

Relic deserves the support of DOW players by purchasing their games. EA is abusing the gaming world by releasing games with crap gameplay. The one game which im really pissed at EA for is LOTR:BFME2. That game could have been better.

Looks like johnnycp has drunk some Ork juice and is now in league with the Orks...hahahha....glad you decided to play Orks.

Well hope that armour upgrade in PoG will be buffed up to give us some decent armour.

What language version patch is he using?....you cant mix the language patches.
