QUOTE(albnok @ Oct 8 2010, 11:24 PM) ahpingko: Well that is one way to get funky color and a very long exposure. For 60D the wheel is not smooth compare to all the previous semi-pro series (10D~50D,7D,5D,1D and etcs) and the button is really weird to press on compare to 550D mastering89: It seems you should take a picture outdoors - if you only take pictures indoors, you might get the same coordinates. 8tvt: Seems that way to me. wingster: I wonder if they still have the scroll inertia bug! (Scroll using the thumb wheel quickly and then stop - it will continue like Wheel Of Fortune.) lwliam: Funny you should mention that since it is a very worthy add-on on the A55V. My friend has been trying to sell his Canon 1D MkIII GPS unit with no luck! (Of course, that is a far more expensive unit.) TrutH_SeeKeR: Nolah we can talk about Alpha NEX here also. I think the A55 is a fantastic backup to a regular dSLR. Can cari makan with this. The mode dial remain the same concept as 550D (Having lots of scene with Auto + PASM mode) and video mode you need to turned all the way from PASM mode dial which is annoying (It wasn't like Sony Alpha series where you can turn all the way 360 degree as you like) + they add the new features which make the dial to switch even harder : the lock button on the top of dial mode which u need to press it in order to turn the dial 60D may like 550D, in movie mode the mirror will flip down and raise up again every few minutes which is another annoying part unlike 7D and 5D Mk2 where they can lock the mirror up or last longer So I'm really impress how well A55 can do, 60D mirror mechanism is really a frustration for me some how and need to take times to get used to it where Sony you can record it without flipping the bloody mirror (cause so much delay) and then only can pressing for record This post has been edited by wingster: Oct 9 2010, 12:04 AM |

QUOTE(evilhomura89 @ Oct 9 2010, 12:34 AM) ooo..welcome to the club A55 has the "Full Frame" feel IMO, although is electronic viewfinder but beginner might easily get used to it compare those user who have much familiar on OVF i'm just tumpang here until i get a dslr i'm still contemplating whether to get a55 or a580 A560/A580 has much tougher built and larger like the A550's as well too |

QUOTE(Batmaninkl @ Oct 9 2010, 10:40 AM) Luvdog, can you try the 10fps contiunuos shooting and post what is the recovery time for next shot and test the video recording and post the duration that it can take. I have tested A33 and A55 using Standard Memory Stick Mark II (not the high speed HX-Pro memory card) in both 3fps,6fps,7fps(A33),10fps(A55) regards A33 - 7 frames (max buff) in RAW takes 20~25 seconds for recovery A55 - 20 frames (max buff) in RAW takes 35~45 seconds for recovery ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Compare to A550 it cost around 20 seconds for recovery 19 frames RAW in 7FPS so I think DSLT writing speed is quite slower IMO If using the High Speed memory card would be much faster as my memory card is quite slow IMO (average 10~15mb/seconds where the HX-Pro is 30mb/seconds) |

QUOTE(TrutH_SeeKeR @ Oct 10 2010, 01:48 AM) yea..always with RAW all the time... But doesn't it very easy to get overheated? Especially when burst shooting + record movie xD well i guess i have to wait a lil longer. but the sony software is not too bad at all.. im still juggling myself with this A55 n everything abt this camera is fast..fast..fast.. fast autofocus, fast frames rate. great camera What I need is to know that how long this camera will get overheated when SSS is off? |

Sony and Minolta 50mm Macro F2.8 has awesome bokeh and sharpness in F2.8 compare to 50mm F1.4 (although they serve in different purposes)
Some people may felt weird to serve as macro but for me which used for almost 3 months and I have to said this is a great macro+portrait combo lens I ever seen ! This post has been edited by wingster: Oct 10 2010, 11:16 PM |

QUOTE(ProX @ Oct 10 2010, 11:17 PM) will post up picture soon. I am still learning..newbie in SLR/SLT.. I got myself (Sony 50mm Macro) in an insane (cheap) price I would say it is balance but the whole thing is kinda heavy since 16-105mm lens is metal barrel. 470gm. Body 440gm. Added on October 10, 2010, 11:20 pm 50mm Macro cost ~1.2k Hope I can keep poison away for a while before damaging my pocket further. This post has been edited by wingster: Oct 10 2010, 11:32 PM |

QUOTE(zstan @ Oct 10 2010, 11:34 PM) any particular reasons that you stuck with Sony? L lens is good for wild life or extreme whether photography xD ... and it's like the Carl Zeiss price leh D: when the temptation to switch to Canon is so strong with all those L lenses available at will? I'm still going with both system later on but lazy to invest Canon lenses at first because I have a great Sony lens right now xD + EVF really give me the "FF Feel" I want although it wasn't so good as OVF |

Because Sony Built-In IS does not have the actual effect (image stabilizer) on the viewfinder but on the sensor so you will felt shaky when you use long focal lenses
On A33/A55 it is a different case because of the EVF? I found it does stabilize the shake when you half-press the shutter ... |

QUOTE(Mikeshashimi @ Oct 14 2010, 09:01 PM) Bro, its not to say those reviews are lying. Nowadays DSLR market, video mode not only hook photographers but video + cinematographers as well, take Canon 5D Mk.II as a good example which it has being used by several motion pictures (like Avatar, Iron Man II and so on.) Just take everything u read with a pinch of salt (dont take it to heart, but take it into moderate consideration) and as most people would say, ur not gonna take videos for a long period of time ALL at ONE go. So its only a minor setback. I still doubt tho that shooting stills will cause it to overheat, unless you're doing like 10fps over and over again after recovering from buffering. and lastly, you cant find a 'perfect' camera. each camera will have its own little niggles, but you've got to overlook it and focus on the beauty that is a Sony. lol... *hides* In fact there are only very tiny little numbers of VDSLR users who mainly uses for cinematography more than photography and what Sony wants to do is to protect its high-end model video equipment market compare the others so its DSLR/DSLT model would take less video options but at sooner this method will no longer works as most people would choose more flexible video DSLR in several aspect (because it get videographers attentions for purchase as well) This post has been edited by wingster: Oct 14 2010, 09:15 PM |

QUOTE(Mikeshashimi @ Oct 14 2010, 09:16 PM) Sony NEX VG-10 is the not perfect either for the price tag (In Malaysia it is seriously ridiculous) and video bit rate quality, people rather pick Canon 5D MK2 or APS-C model with loads of prime rather than it but for those who do documentaries would like it some how (because long play features?) |
