cokin, unless you got a 49mm convertor, coz its NEX we're talking about here.. but you'll still be touching the camera before the card entirely closes the scene. just slapping on a black card at the front element of the lens will do...
*
there is another way, cement the camera onto a hard rock stand, tape ur hand onto the camera... use ur finger at will, i doubt any movement will shake the camera now....

I can't wait for another year:( I'm parting with my A300 soon enough and need a replacement. Either A55 or A580, and there's no news of any new FF model.
*
dont worry, canon heavily rumored 5DmkIII never announced in photokina, which made all canon fan really MAD. as long as canon doesnt has new thing to show, Sony surely will take her time... and nikon needs to wait for sony's development/sensor :/, their FF 12mp is toooo old.

QUOTE(zstan @ Sep 24 2010, 11:54 AM)
errmm...at this price its one of the best you can get la...

not quite suitable for events though.. the back focusing is terrible...AF speed is slow..  biggrin.gif

QUOTE(ReasonsofThanatos @ Sep 24 2010, 11:57 AM)
GOSH! it has backfocusing problem too??i can bear with the slow AF speed though, but not focusing problem..have to think twice then...maybe i should stick with the 50mm F1.4 plan.. hmm.gif
*
dear friend, the backfocus issue is nothing to do with the lens, its the camera body. mine was calibrate base on 50mm F1.4, then my tamron F2.8 becomes Very sharp.

i calibrate more then 7 unit of alpha already(and some other brands too) all happy customer biggrin.gif

btw, calibration is the reason i will not get new camera or A33, hate it if i gotten a bad unit, need to calibrate myself, and i have totally no idea how can a A33 calibration works

ieR, u should make a video on step by step how to do the calibration... i'd like to learn too.. i mean, not to say my A700 is having problems, just that it'd be good to learn new skills should i need them one day
*
wait i got chance to pinjam tx5 from wife first(this one need to slowly wait)... else i have nothing to record, u wont wan me to record with webcam... LOL...

zstan: mine no back focus, infact, i purposely tune front focus, now picture turn out the way i wanted it, more front focus means the DOF end nearer hence more bokeh (not really obvious la, but still...)

wow.. very skillful already in calibrating already  rclxms.gif .. Mind asking when you calibrate your camera base on 50mm F1.4, Do you just calibrate base on the Center focus(by turning all the 3 Screws at the same angle) Do you actually adjust to make sure all other points is accurate? i know turning all screws together actually control the center focus.... but controlling the UP DOWN or LEFT RIGHT or even ANGLE of the focusing Plate.. i have no idea how to adjust each screws..
*
i manage to learn how to work around the 3 screw. it will take more time if u screw up the corner calibration... and u wan to avoid that. i calibrate by 90 degree straight, coz 45degree no feel... then i shoot on a subject i prepare hang in the air, with all AF points, if all is sharp, then only i test it on the 'focus chart' because sometimes, the focus chart is not really errr 100%, rely on subject is better because its more like 'practical' is there. and i always tune a little front focus... so more of front is sharp then back (who wans to see the back)ear, hair or watever behind which u cant see it in the first place) is sharp?

mastering89, yuhi: u can try, but as far as i know, Sony technician doesnt do it, coz before this i send in my body twice, and came back the same thing =.=. when i peel off the stick, there is no mark of them peeling it before.

not sure outside technician, how many of them knows. this has to ask albnok, he knows more technical shops in KL.

mastering, if that view finder plate (forgot what it called) is out of snyc... then very susah eh... u have to use ur feel to know where the point is. because taht one, i also dunno how to adjust, because everytime u put themback, it sure let the spring push sengek.. lol, mine also a little off to higher, so i point something i wan in focus a little lower then af point.

Added on September 24, 2010, 3:29 pmalbnok: yealor, think think also dunno how they calibrate it... i think have to open up the whole thing, or they have electronic calibration?

yuhi: nope, same concept, difference design. but the calibration should be very similar lor. i think its really weird or shock to them if u bring S in N or C center, maybe u can ask around if any local camera shop knows how to repair it?

hahaha... Ah haO you judged too fast on other people. i am for one example still uses A300 since day one i brought it (day one i started with DSLR) and i believe many here still does with their first body. those who has extra money in their pocket definitely will get better body.

i have few friend sold A700 for Nex and still loving it (example, tubik) who is now less active in Lyn.

talk about lens redundancy, a lot ppl dont think deep enough of what they are purchasing, i have 6 lens.... only 1 lens sit inside my drybox for over a year now, that is the 18-70 LOL. the rest, i uses it time to time. have fun shopping.

i would take a Nex anytime, for the quality is by far, better then any Alpha camera made before it. (* not build quality, but image quality)

A33 is very very interesting camera, it IS poisonous to know the fps and speed of AF. but then, i do believe its Not for Everyone. but look at the price, its same as A300 when it first releases(cheaper then 550D and D90).... who wont buy it? and i guess the rest of the people here who has no intent to get A33/55 is still waiting for A7xx like me. lets hope sony knows a lot people is eager for A7xx and releases it soon

argggg, nex and a3355 suffer video body over heat. so 550d. damm. sony left a hand there tongue.gif still not a mature hdslr

now rely on gh2 hehe
*
Nex got suffer? the 29minute is a due to a license restriction, not overheat.

the A33/55 can jsut turn off SSS to shoot, the SSS is useful when u shooting over 200mm. it will still have teh 29 minute limit. because going pass 30minute, they require special license for it, and pricetag for Nex/33/55 will jump UP. (like why spend extra 700 for 550D when u can get A550 for same picture quality but no video. rm700 for video? omg)

* come to think of it, a LOT compact camera doesnt has IS/SSS, and the HD video taken has NO issue, whats wrong turning of SSS? grrrrrrrr!.

Ah Hao
: its all about investment, some ppl able to sell their Nex without losing money, why not? then buy a better DSLR. but if u intent to keep the nex (where u can always use the 16mm F2.8 or future pancake!) as albnok mention, the adapter+50mm felt just like the 1855kitlens. why not?

btw, the 50mm is a good lens biggrin.gif F1.8 with SAM give Autofocus. becareful with what u read online, that is just 1 person opinion. ask far 2nd user opinion wink.gif

Guys,

I am in dilemma .. is it worth changing a700 to a850? .. wink.gif ..please give me some inputs ..

I am thinking of pairing a850 with 50mm f1.4 and 70-300G ...

I will let go my a700+1680CZ+50mm 1.8+VG ..

is it a good move?

A850 with 50mm will be a bit limited but that is not my concern .. I am concern about the picture quality between combination of a850+50mm and a700+cz1680 ..

Thanks ..
*
nothing wrong. in fact, its a better combo. smile.gif

Strik3: http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=767032 this one more poison!

fansoption, ahpingko: PL filter are cant work properly with UWA lens. google it... due to the angle of how PL works, the far corner of UWA angle may eliminate the effect of UWA causing the photo's one corner has no PL effect. or something like that.

*edit: opps, didnt know albnok answered. hehe

Added on September 29, 2010, 6:12 pmsoket 8tvt: well, its old news, and ALL VDSLR has same issue. D5000 and D90 cant pass 5 minute(limit) and so others has overheating issue too.

imagine if u do a 5 minute long exposure photo, it hurt the sensor too! tongue.gif
