Ben here's some information for u.
if u like gold colour...
go for c.kelberi.. if u like gold with blue-ish refection go for c.orinocensis..
the common ones are c.temensis and c.monoculus..
information obtain from my supplier
c.kelberi large one can fetch price as high as USD250 medium about USD150 (marketprice).. easy to sell at this price somore! applies to other countries..
to sell in such fish msia?? i dont know if it works!
many will reply "adult cichla in msia only RM30+ la.." "good luck on ur sale" bla bla bla.. whatsoever..
so please ppl! if u think ur fishy knowledge is damn hell of a good.. go travel around the world b4 u even dare to reply! look at the japanese, taiwan and US market.. look at the fishes ppl are keeping over there. many are wild caught exotic fish! price were indeed high as i could imagine!
do some research first and stop having the mind set of (i can get cheaper fish out there) before knowing the origin of the fish, species, collection area etc etc!
yes wild fishes should be cheap because collectors can just collect anytime they like.. but bear in mind that places like Amazon are just totally dangerous. there are caymans, predator fishes like piranhas, water snakes etc.. and it's called "risk"!
we are falling back due to price sensitivity... just here to share information to those who wanna know more.
cheers!
Added on October 21, 2010, 3:37 pmA long list of ultra rare fish for today!
Hognosed Cory (Brochis multiradiatus) these are NOT available in msia.. with this massive size? EVEN RARER!
Guess what loach are they..
obviously some L25 aka... Scarlet Cactus Pleco
It's not red-tail cat.. it's not a cross between RTC or shovelnose.. what is it?
These are tiny little monster that hides in sand and prey on fishes from below. Not salt water! Max size around 20cm! Guess what are they!
Chinese Tigers (Elopicthys bambusa)
Max size? DONT ASK! Pictures taken from wikipedia as illustration purposes!
