QUOTE(beer8bottles @ Mar 25 2011, 12:25 PM) Anuar, your lungfish ate up my lapradie's tail. The poor thing died this morning. actually lungfish are not freidnly o.o they will eat tankmates oneI saw it half eaten at the back of the tank. The lapradei was already 35cm plus, dunno how the lungfish can eat it. They are usually friendly with each other. ~sigh~ Now I plan make the lungfish grow bigger since its tank is so empty. Will take some photos and upload it later. |

man, its been some time o.o haiz my big tank and awesome fishes still have a long way to become real...
anyways, i bought a firemouth cichlid but then when I brought it home it's like super scared and keep hiding, why is it? At the LFS, i catch the one which is very active(but that time no red chin), when i brought it home it's quiet, freaked out and very red chin(not blood)... |

Pretty happy to see this thread still alive
just wanted to ask, does pudu sell indian almond leaves? and to make a tank more acidic, can we just pick up roadside dried leaves and put them in the tank? After microwaving them to get rid of bacteria and stuff... |

QUOTE(beer8bottles @ May 8 2012, 08:13 PM) Ho, ho, ho, that would be my ideal home. Lol your mum..Unfortunately, my parents think that having a huge, huge tank is a crazy idea. Mom: Who's going to pay the water bill? The electric bill? Me: I will pay for it. Mom: Why do you want to waste your money? You can keep it in the bank. Me: But these fishes are hard to find. Mom: Then how did you find them? My brother: Because she goes to the aquarium shop every day. Dad: What if the tank suddenly break? Broken glass is sharp. Me: Then what about the existing aquariums? They could break at any moment. Dad: They are small. If they break it wouldn't be that dangerous. Mom: Why don't you do gardening? At least you can eat the vegetables. Me:................................ Parents are strange things. My mom is okay with the idea of a small pond, but not a giant tank. Need to keep trying to convince them. Fiberglass? |

QUOTE(beer8bottles @ May 8 2012, 10:47 PM) No, I want a laminated glass tank. I've even saved up to pay for all the expenses (workmanship, glass cost..etc) I am ready to pay for it. I only need the green light to go ahead and have it done. But my parents keep saying its a waste of money, or for the same amount of money I could keep a fibreglass tank of tilapia, at least it can be eaten. They are very old fashion in the sense of keeping things that "can eventually be eaten". good point.. Spending on a nice laminated glass tank for display is wayyy better than using the same amount of money to raise tilapia ._. That one is real wastage.. Since pasar can buy.Sometimes I feel like saying "This is not Chinese restaurant okay. Aquarium is not meant for storing fish then eating them." |
