I don't know whether should we wait for 1.2ghz dual core qualcomm proc (geared with new adreno 220?) early next year or go for desire HD/Z.

adreno 220 might only be in phones manufactured late 2011 since adreno 205 is still quite new in snapdragons/scorpions.. it would take a while until we see it in phones for 220

The T-Mobile G2, which is the T-Mobile version of Desire Z, appears to have hinge problems. Hopefully it's not a design issue and will be fixed by the time the Desire Z arrives on our shores.

yah i was worry about tis problem too. And for HTC record they do really have poor QC problem. This make me more worry. Maybe i should get HTC Desire HD.... without the keyboard they shouldnt have so much problem.

1) Alot of people that saw the screen said it looks nice with accurate colours and most importantly, works well under the sun =D
2) There isnt a case of hinge broken, just loose. Most people said that its only a problem when they try to type upside down. Im also hoping that the problem will not manifest in Desire Z. But everyone says that the hinge is very smooth.
3) Half memory lost only happens on G2. Desire Z has 2GB NAND instead of G2's 4GB. So this is not a worry point smile.gif.

they will recycle back all the stock and fixed it...
then oni come back the new stock again...

if like tat...z will become zzz...
duno when will launch~~
hope the z wont have tis problem and will arrive in time...^^

ONE (or several) case doesnt mean the entire product line is affected

it may just be a bad batch....

More developments!

1) T-mobile G2 has the full 4GB NAND chip on board, just that 1.2GB is accessible to user. Most probaby the other space are reserved for OS/software. Problem happened because T-mo stated that the phone has 4GB ROM, but people equated that to 4GB available to user.

2) Seems like got some people with good hinges, while got alot of people with loose hinges. But even so, many said that even with that loose hinge, the problem never occurs unless you hang upside while using the phone AND while holding just its back. Im hoping HTC will iron out this problem in the Desire Z, and also in G2, in their next batches.

3) The compliments of this phone outstrips its problems so far. Most people say they are just nitpicking, and praised the phone that its very fast and smooth. Im salivating just reading all the talk on xda-dev. Can't wait for the hinge problem to finally be solved, and imma get one for myself =D

i reckon the desire z keyboard is just like the touch pro keyboard but with 1 less row
that could be good or bad depending on how u see it
ppl with smaller hands or likes a small phone would prefer it
ppl that uses numbers alot and used the top row alot wont like it

Added on October 6, 2010, 3:41 pmoh no! T-Mobile G2 might not work with Asian 3G services. sad.gif means only option would be the Desire Z sad.gif

its exactly the same with two main differences only

1) G2 runs on UMTS band 1700/2100, also known as AWS. For Desire Z, it runs on UMTS band 900/2100. Europe and Asia runs on 900/2100. Malaysia runs on 2100.

2) G2 is stock android, while Desire Z has HTC Sense UI
