this one is for n97 users who want to upgrade to business phone, but downgrade the camera laugh.gif
*
Not really downgrade. You get higher reso which is actually better bcoz most people who would go for E7 would most probably only point and shoot or don't even use their camera smile.gif

No.N9 will be a real consumer oriented smartphone.
When N900 was announced Nokia also said that N900/Maemo 5 is step 4 out of 5 to transition Maemo to the mass market. The product which will succeed N900 will be a complete product.
Before MeeGo was announced there was initial changes for Maemo 6 announced. Some of the changes are native potrait/landcape mode, graphics acceleration, better phone functions etc2.
The initial plan was pretty much as good as any other mobile os in market. But some of them scrapped when MeeGo announced.
This isn't necessarily true.
This phone will work just fine for normal day to day without any modding.

People need to change mindset about N900.Just because majority of N900 owners are computer nerds that doesn't mean you have to be good at programming to use N900.
Maemo's UI is pretty simple actually & the OS itself has matured with very less bugs.
No.Even with Android 2.3 the answer still no.
*
YES!!! Totally agree!!! I'm not at all familiar with any Linux system and I'm doing just fine with tonnes of useful stuff in my N900. And it does not lag at all. I didn't mod or even OC at all smile.gif

The price will around N8 lik tat ?
*
Nope, should be higher than N8. N8 is kinda cheap I think. I expected it to be more expensive but turns out to be only around 1.5k. E7 can't be that price. smile.gif

i think the price wont be more than 2k
bcoz n8 with 12mp+zenon only cost around 1600
e7 only hve 8mp fixed fcus
*
lol, that's not a good hypothesis at all. You must understand that E7 is firstly E-Series which often are sold at a higher price compared to similar spec N-Series.
2nd, E7 has a larger screen and it is the CBD type rclxms.gif
And E7 has QWERTY Keypad meaning more hardware assembly cost.
Total up, I would rather suggest E7 to be around 2k most probably more unless they put the price lower than expected again like what happen to N8 biggrin.gif

After Nokia's recent partnership with WP7, would anyone buy this E7 in the 1st place?

QUOTE(loyatttt @ Feb 12 2011, 02:37 AM)
symbiam is dead anybody buying e7 is buying into a system with no future imho...
*
I won't ask my dad to buy. Before they announced, I told my dad to get E7 when it comes out. Now, I tell him, don't buy E7 cause you're buying a phone with a system that has been given up. My thought is with a given up system, the depreciation will be very high hence it's not worth buying at all & first comes first, if it's going to be so expensive, E7 is definitely doomed...

QUOTE(simplicio @ Feb 12 2011, 02:37 PM)
aiya....which phone in the world...won't die off in future?
nokia window 7 still beta mode mah...enjoy e7 first...by the time new nokia comes out...then upgrade again.

series 40 still going strong till today.....so any system for that matter can jalan one lah....for those who so concern about system...they wont wait or enticipate E7..those are iphone and blackberry kakis.

my dua cents.
*
I wouldn't waste 2K plus to play with E7. I would rather go for some pretty decent Android devices with that amount of cash smile.gif I'm not loaded with cash to waste unsure.gif

symbian is true mobile os, not prone to lags and multi-tasks efficiently.
android os requires very high spec to run smoothly.
battery life suffers as a result.

most ppl who use androids are nerds and can afford time to tweak their phones over and over again.
but serious users always choose nokia.
dependable and great.
*
Are you sure?
Both the N97 & X6 that I have used have has boot-up problems...& hard-reset a couple of times sad.gif

But still undeniably, Symbian is a good OS biggrin.gif
minus all the lack of apps and stuff and stuff...the list goes on & on tongue.gif

QUOTE(nando @ Mar 3 2011, 03:43 PM)
dont worry la...

hundreds of Communicator lovers out there..Communicator have always been the tool for many of these business people and tauke wannabes.....although i suspect at end of day, many dont really use all the functions... biggrin.gif

These people are used to buying Communicators at RM3500-4k plus...the last one was E90, about 3 years ago easily..

now you tell them got new Communicator, touch screen, modern gadget, at lower price than 2k....i think they will find this attractive...

I suspect first 5-6 months, most buyers are the Communicators users...
after that..will be low demand..
Anyway, i am looking for a good full QWERTY phone..might want to check this out too...
*
Exactly, only communicator lover will want this phone. My dad was saying I love my E90. So big screen and blah blah blah...Maybe should ask him to buy E7 but again from my point of view, I think it's not worth buying coz Symbian is gonna slowly be shadowed by Windows Phone 7 sad.gif
