the guy/gal did not mention whether he/she is a professional that works in corporate.
maybe she/he is a professional toilet washer or dancer or sumthg...
so n8 is more suitable.

because the only difference over a nokia N8 is QWERTY keyboard, clear back display (CBD), some additional apps and screen size everything else the same and downgrade of its camera.

Fans of communicator or E series wiill love this
*
I tried it today at Lowyat the concourse area...got so many display unit there biggrin.gif
Urh, I don't know why but why when I pinch to zoom cannot de? blink.gif
And I think the slider mechanism might be rock-solid and built to last but the thing is don't you think there's too little space for you to get a grip to push it up? unsure.gif

actually its good sometimes like the nokia N900 it will suddenly slide itself. So with this the phone wont accidentally slide open by itself
*
yesh!! N900 always slide open in my pocket when I'm playing sports biggrin.gif

there is no such problem for me. screen is quite sensitive.
it can even sense just at the fraction of the moment before finger actually touch the screen.
you might have sweaty/oily fingers or the touchscreen needs to be recalibrated.
*
hahah, yeah. I know its sensitivity is good cause it's capacitive and I have nothing against it but the way you say it is kind of exaggerating biggrin.gif
No offense just saying for fun biggrin.gif
Anyway, yes, because it's capacitive it's very sensitive to touch and btw, capcitive screen don't need to recalibrate smile.gif

Reduce screen brightness, Change Network connection to 2G. And turn off heptic feedback (vibration when screen is touched). I think that's all.
But a real solution is to get a portable charger biggrin.gif

BL-4D 1200mAh is not a decent battery for a 4inch touch-screen phone. Even E90 without a touch-screen is having 1500mAh...The battery life is just so so. smile.gif

QUOTE(make87 @ Mar 18 2011, 01:35 AM)
about the weight, E7 really heavier than N8, can feel it on your palm. but about the durability, I dont think there is much diff between E7 & N8, since both using same coating & material. & the sliding part doesnt affect much unless it was on open mode lol ~
*
The force acting downwards of an E7 is higher than N8. That's an obvious fact, giving it a higher impact (impusive force), giving more damage to the phone (considering both are equally durable in terms of material, designs, so on and so forth)

N8 : 135g
E7 : 176g

F=ma

F : force
m : mass
a: acceleration

Force N8 = (0.135g)(9.81m/s)
= 1.32435N

Force E7 = (0.176g)(9.81m/s)
= 1.72656N

N8 should be more durable when being dropped. rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

good try on your attempt at elementary physics.
but you failed to consider that size of e7 is bigger, so the force per area is almost the same.
*
lols, pressure?

Pressure = F/A

F: Force
A: Area

hmph, I don't suppose you can drop it flat down right? unsure.gif
arh, whatever larh. Nokia phones are among the most durable biggrin.gif
So, don't worry biggrin.gif

Hi sifus, I'm interested in buying the E7.
How good is the free OVI maps? I frequently drive around Kelana Jaya, PJ, Subang and Damansara. Is the OVI maps suitable for use there?
*
The map data is somewhat miserably upsetting. Don't expect too much from OVI Maps.
I did still prefer Garmin over OVI Maps.
You can install Garmin Mobile XT into Nokia E7 smile.gif

someone said to me that the last Garmin XT was made for S60v5. not sure there's one for Symbian ^3, or whether the S60 version are compatible with S^3.

make sure you set "ask first" for authorizing internet connection. this way, the phone will ask you whether you want to connect to the internet or not everytime an application require it.
*
It's compatible with Symbian 3 but do bear in mind none has been made specifically even for S60v5. It's compatible though smile.gif

Hi, just got my E7, have been using E71 then E72, now this.
have anybody installed Garmin? is it stable in E7 like in E72?
also, anywhere to find a nice holder case for it?
I find the E7 very useful, have 3 home screens can put widgets in, can access my files easily, as opposed to E72 have to go in many layers.

thanks.
*
Garmin can be installed on Symbian^3 devices. It works just fine smile.gif
Thanks to Symbian^3 which has been tweaked or you would be complaining the many layers in Symbian^1. biggrin.gif

Hi all,
Iphone  has better pixel density too on paper but my preference e7 screen looks better
*
But iPhone is higher pixel density and you can really see the difference if you see properly because Nokia is only at qHD.
I'm no Apple fanboy but I can't deny the fact that the details on iPhone is really high.

The reason you may say that E7 is better is probably due to the larger screen size which makes it more comfortable to view at compared to iPhone smile.gif

anybody can help me how can i request for repplacement of new e7. My e7 has motherboard issue and i just use it for about 2 weeks
*
I'm not sure if you can actually get a new replacement because as long as I know if your phone is urh forgot (within 1 week or 2 weeks), then you are eligible for a replacement thereafter which you will only be offered a repair and not a replacement. Read the terms of warranty that comes with the phone in the box smile.gif

Dear all,

Is it worth to get E7 as compare to Iphone4 or Samsung Galaxy S2 ? I am not comparing the price but I am comparing the performance such as Nokia hp tends to lag and hang etc etc...

Hope to get valuable advise from sifu2 ! notworthy.gif
*
Depends on your need really. Why don't you ask this question in Model vs Model thread because you will most probably get biased answers here since it's Symbian Phone-Specific Discussion subforum here. smile.gif

Thanks a lot for both sifu clarification... question, may i know is E7 same as other Nokia model which facing laggy and hang problem? and is the external memory card will cause problem to it as well? Becz I saw a few posts discussing on the external memory card earlier on...

Thanks again ! notworthy.gif
*
Don't expect it to have smooth UI like iOS or Android products or basically most other touchscreen OSes now.
It does a job well.

E7 does not have an external memory card slot. The only thing you can do to have extra memory is use USB-OTG to connect USB Thumbdrive to your E7 using the USB-OTG cable, CA-157 included in the sales package. smile.gif

Noted. So if I can wait, better wait for the next generation business phone from Nokia with a better Proc and UI am I right? When is it coming up with a better spec bizz phone ar? tongue.gif
*
Urh, never? I'm not sure. Symbian aint going to be seen in high end devices anymore. Nokia has stated that high-end devices will be coming with WP7.
If you really want an E-Series device, I think E7 is a go for because there shouldn't be any coming out with better specs than this anymore.

You may look into E6 as well.
