It is RM3.00 per channel per month.
*

If you take this and compare with the number of channels Astro provide and the price they charge. Besides the VOD especially for RM 8 per movie is not really cheap (except the biggest/latest title.) Why would someone like me would bother paying RM8 to watch a old movie when I can pay RM6-7 for latest cinema movie?

Then if I watch 5-8 movies, I can pay the entire movie package in Astro for a month watch 24/7.

Besides these "premium" channel arent really extraordinary.

Dynasty package being the most expensive around RM50.00 but I only like to watch Wah Lai Toh.  If only RM5.00 for Wah Lai Toh I don't mind paying...anyway disconnected Astro already.
*

this is why i said if the channels good ones they are worth a bit, but all those in Unifi arent really extraordinary.

In a way I agree with you.  But I like the concept where I only pay for the channel I like to watch.

Also if after sometime I get bored with a particular channel I can switch to another channel which previously not like but now like I would not be charge for switching unlike Astro.
*

the thing is, quite huge numbers of my favorite channels are exclusively reserve by Astro. doh.gif

if those channels are also available in Unifi, I am sold too.

I am guessing the new operator password are "unique" now (or a few variants) otherwise you would have just give the password directly.

Lol h566unifi is actually real password? Initially I tot the h566unifi password is just another random password example that you gave to show everyone how to retrieve their own password. I overestimate TM security.

And they underestimate us. I think they assumed that I guessed the password the first time because it was so simple, so they decided to make it more complex. The PS3 can be hacked using a USB based buffer overflow, Apple products can be jailbroken.. yet to TM, the mighty orange TM DIR-615 password cannot be cracked using any form of technology known to man at this point. The person who decided to lock down the router should have his head checked.
*

Sometime I couldnt understand why is it so hard for them to have a pre-configured config.bin with unique password for each Unifi user and have the installation technician to upload to customer upon installation. (with the router GUI glitch you mentioned fixed of cos)

right now I got 2 more non-computer network literate relatives have unifi with default setting. I wouldnt imaging what would happen if they have a mean neighbor with bad intentions. I couldnt enhance their 615 security, because with this remote management enabled by default, it just means TM is telling me there may be future "updates" into the 615. My relatives may not know how to change back to default setting to allow the "update" to happen if I had alter the default setting for them.

It would seems to me that the only reason of having to allow remote management on is that TM want to save cost/time to serve each customer from calling TM CS for troubleshooting.

Bro Riz, you did it again, bravo man!! rclxms.gif notworthy.gif

Apparently TM never learn, I'm really puzzled on why they keep wanting to enable the Remote Management over their already messy yet vulnerable network ..... sweat.gif
True enough, whoever that person, I guess his head is indeed squarish one!  tongue.gif
*

Yeah thanks to Riz.

I think they probably want to save the hassle of customer calling them complaining about Internet line issue. With remote management they can set settings on the fly without sending technician to customer house directly. Thats the only reason I can think of, unless otherwise there is some other reason also.

The modem(ZTE ZXDSL 931) is capable of doing VLAN trunking. You can even dial PPPoE from the modem itself(same as Streamyx) but I havent try this as I'm pretty sure most of you will be using WiFi and don't want the modem alone to handle all the internet traffic.
I'm pretty sure that your fiber modem can do the same. Just think this way, if from the fiber cable need VLAN trunking, don't you think that the modem itself(ONU) need to be VLAN capable?

May I know what is the ONU brand and model for fiber users?
Seems like got a guy in this thread like to get the "name" without crediting other people.
I know many of DIR-615 G2 users are stuck before this because they cannot get the password, yesterday I got my unifi installed and able to decrypt the password, I post it in this thread that I'm able to get the password. Although you know how to do it, but you wont be helping any DIR-615 G2 users if I didn't post the "reply" and give you some idea yesterday right?

In Malay : "Siapa yang makan cili, dia yang terasa pedasnya"

Fiber user use Huawei, for the Vlan tag via BTU refer to prodigy's guide. It is mentioned long time ago. here.. Attached File  index.pdf ( 868k ) Number of downloads: 86

For me the problem is my BTU is in the store room. So I have to lay a second 30m Cat5e cable to support IPTV, the workman ship, drilling + the cable to my first floor would easily cost a lot more than mikrotik Switch alone. And I dont think I like the idea of 2 Cat5e cable running in my house it is not tidy.

Idk, same user/pass for every BTU.. full access to every dir-615 on the Unifi network due to the config.bin exploit.. and an ISP which is encouraging every user to leave it all open (even to the extent of sending out mass SMSes telling everyone to leave it enabled). You guess lar tongue.gif

Luckily some of us are not in this "same password" group. tongue.gif

I wonder if we will still have the 100 point system after 1 November.

Or will all the points be removed, and we have to pay for any extra channel we want.
*

the points will still be there, but once you use it they charge you. Sort of like drinks in the refrigerator in hotel room.

New Premium channels appear to be double/triple the price than what we expected earlier. RM6-RM9/channel. sweat.gif

Looks like I am not going to sub any of these. They can keep these channels for themselves.

If you're on the BIZ plan then of course nothing, VIP users definitely will be killing their monthly quota. sweat.gif
*

Tho I am not going to discuss further on what we DL here. (hehe) brows.gif If you are sticking on StandardDefinition content, it takes a few more effort to break that 60GB. But I think they should give 200GB VIP5 and more other package.

but yeah Plenty of Unifi user here are sticking to VIP5 until they implement the Cap, then they move to BIZ5 as "upgrade" but doing this will lost the IPTV + no free phone calls.

for a light DLer like me, it is pretty hard to hit even 60GB. sweat.gif It has been 2 weeks I didnt hit 2GB DL per day.

Rexio, you obviously cannot use your own brain. You want me to write guides to help people secure their router. I tell them the operator password is 'telekom' or whatever, to log in and untick this and that. You honestly think that the 'bad guys' wont use the same login on other peoples routers? You tell me about Linux noobs.. this is like logic failure if they can't make that connection.

I was angry at you because you want me to practice security through obscurity. Keeping quiet == keeping it safe. That's bloody stupid and is basically what TM is doing. And now I'm just plain pissed because you're demanding credit for something you didn't do. Something you could not have done without my help in the first place. Seriously la, use your head.
*

Riz, not trying to be his side, but I think what he means posting "exploit" is unnecessary especially when it can teach an average joe people "know" how to crack his neighbor's router.

If the "h566unifi" is the new standard password for all DIR-615 G2, then I personally think it is unnecessary to post the /config.bin + router pass guide to extract the password. When we have G1, you only post login and password. If the password are all standard, just post the password. smile.gif I really suggest you remove that guide and replace it with a standard password only. (like what you did in G1)

and then dont get me into this fist fight between you guys, I am just posting my opinion. tongue.gif
