Payment status update as of today 15Sep 2pm 52% paid already.

For those who has not bank-in, appreciate you could quickly do so before tomorrow 16Sep noon, so we can quickly remit & place order with Soliton within this week. sweat.gif

To be honest, this thing has taken too long and I really want to move-on and settle with it, also to be fair for those who had responded earlier & faster, therefore I'm sorry I have no choice but to either transfer to others or cancel your order if no payment is received by deadline.

Thank you for your understanding & co-operation! nod.gif
*
3 members didn't response, so 3 units go to standby list.

@wiraone, calvin & d3vilsim, you are the first 3 standby, pls check PM & make payment ASAP!

Now arranging payment to Soliton, will update you guys on the delivery schedule once I get reply from Soliton! nod.gif

QUOTE(boxsystem @ Sep 16 2010, 04:04 AM)
klseet, pls put me into the standby list as well. thanks.

QUOTE(Tentris @ Sep 16 2010, 09:02 AM)
klseet, bump me onto the standby list too.
rm140 is cheap to pay for a backup to DIR615.

Sorry guys, I don't think I'll organise again, it's kind of tiring .... sweat.gif

If you are still interested, Please contact Soliton directly at +65 62450962
You may speak to Yitong, he is the one I liaise with, just tell him you are from LYN! smile.gif

....as for how i compare.. well random downloads from megaupload and speedtest.net (the latency is exceptionally high but seems better now)... also few music albums (~ 90-100mb) from fileserve...
usually i get ~400-500kb DL speed... but now around 100-150kb...
as for rapidshare... speed do fluctuate but its much better as for now... (the fluctuate in speed is still quite bad but better speed)

i guess its the download site and my area's line??

My Netgear WGR614v9 is on STOCK firmware... better to do with dd-wrt? does it make a diff when running through DIR-615 as bridge..?

and coz this router is rather old i mean its wireless G router i think its sufficient lol... but not sure whether issit bcoz i need a better router as suggested like the TP-link one....

TQ
*
What & how is your connection method when you "usually get ~400-500kb"? Is it using the standard connection from DIR-615 only?
I'm trying to figure out how do you connect the WGR614v9 prior to connect it with DIR-615 as bridging mode for you to make the comparison.

WGR614v9 is Broadcom base and I think v9 is not official confirmed by dd-wrt.
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Suppo...Devices#Netgear

You don't need to flash with dd-wrt, it should work find with your current method.

hope everthing will be settle soon. ill put this info at the 1st post for time being.
by the way thanks for the pm, klseet.

Thx Calvin for the update, also thx Riz again for making the RB250GS works to replace DIR-615 completely! notworthy.gif

Blame Landasan for this mess! 40 unit of RB250GS still say no, their boss is brain juice must be drained.
*
Indeed, it would help many more UniFi users out there if Landasan willing to bring in ..... sweat.gif

QUOTE(wiraone @ Sep 16 2010, 03:18 PM)
Thanks, payment sent .. and really would like to thank you for organising the bulk buy, and I should blamed myself for being late if I missed this opportunity ..
*
Never too late right?! tongue.gif

Ok, guys, while we are waiting for the shipment, please go through Riz's guideline again to fully understand how to configure the RB250GS:
http://unifi.athena.my/index.php?option=co...id=55&Itemid=67

So with RB250GS, you guys can either:
1. use any of your current router, with or without dd-wrt or vlan taggin, just setup PPPoE profile will do!

2. if no extra router and don't want to spend extra again, then can consider to flash the DIR-615 with dd-wrt [see below Riz's guideline] and setup PPPoE will do!
http://unifi.athena.my/index.php?option=co...id=53&Itemid=65

3. if no extra router and still want to keep that DIR-615, then you are free to buy any router you like! tongue.gif

Cheers! biggrin.gif

Finally have my Unifi working on Mikrotik RB750B router with IPTV. Now i can junk the dlink for good. Manage to configure the router accordingly after TM came to replace my dead Dlink which allows me to sniff the iptv packet.

I was harping on the wrong setup all the while. IPTV packets doesn't go through PPPoE but rather just directly to TM server. If you disconnect PPPoE, your IPTV will still work. All the while i was configuring my router to be Q-in-Q thinking it is the PPPoE also trunking vlan600 frame.

The STB box will make direct DHCP call to get IP from TM, without your PPPoE. From then on, it is between STB and TM. So even if your Unifi account is locked or password changed, your STB can still work. I believe the MAC address of STB is registered with TM. Stupid me of setting up internal DHCP server distributing IP for STB and trying to NAT + Masq it earlier.

The setup is just to bridge the physical ethernet (link to stb) against vlan600 setup on the wlan ethernet for IPTV. Ensure no firewall is placed on bridge.

For PPPoE, just create vlan500 under the physical ethernet link to wlan. Confugre PPPoE under this vlan500.

This really sound good news! rclxms.gif
Just to re-confirm, is it RB750 or RB750G? It seem like I can't find RB750B ....

Anywhere, would you mind to post the detail setup here for those who is interested in this model? nod.gif

Probably you could ask if anyone in the list live near to you and would be able to pick it up on behalf and you can kautim where you want to pickup the router. klseet organised this bulk buy and I don't think he take any profit .. and furthermore, we've agreed that it will be at the curve, guess that is the best for everyone.
*
Ok guys, may I suggest the following options for those who can't make it to TheCurve:
1. take LRT to Kelana Jaya, I'll drop by after TheCurve
2. if really must go LowYat, then I'll schedule a day sometime next week.
3. if both the above still cannot, then you probably have to come to my area to pick-up

Please either PM or SMS me if you cannot make it there, I'll try my best to see what can I do! icon_rolleyes.gif

klseet: Dude have you tried using the unit ??

Am pondering now on how to setup the unit once I collect it. Other than this settings http://unifi.athena.my/index.php?option=co...id=55&Itemid=67

I can use any router to connect to my unifi right ? (via PPOE)
*
I used it continuously for a week, internet, online gaming, uTorrent, DC++, no disconnection WAN IP the same, also IPTV on at the same also no jerk, seem to be perfect for me! thumbup.gif
I'm now using that DIR-615 as bridge for IPTV only, I just want to "stress" it within the 1 year warranty period tongue.gif

Yes, basically you can use any of your currently router, just setup the PPPoE user ID & password [like Streamyx] will do!
Actually with RB250GS, you have several options:

Bro, I still have this IPTV problem. Sometimes I can get smooth Live TV but not VOD, or smooth VOD but not Live TV. And a lot of times after few try I lost the IPTV at all. It looks to me that the IPTV server kind of "sense" the non-standard equipment and block the access? Is there anything else in configuration that I did wrong? icon_question.gif
*
Strange, if sometime ok sometime not, could it be the line problem?
Also, could it be the DIR-615 or STB start to give problem already ? blink.gif

I never have any problem on IPTV, except for the minor issue on STB LED display, which was replaced with a new unit on the 3rd day nod.gif

I've been getting some PMs inquiry about MikroTik lately, please note that I'm NOT the seller! sweat.gif

For those who want to buy MikroTik, you may contact Soliton SG directly, they have prepared some package pricing including shipment cost to KL for RB250GS, RB750 & RB750G for LYN members as follows
Attached Image

Sep2010 price list: Attached File  Mikrotic_Package_for_KL.pdf ( 26.55k ) Number of downloads: 47

You can either buy individually or group few others to save shipping cost. If you want to bulk purchase a lot, try to split them into 20pc in a box.
You may contact:

Block 750C, #02-04, Chai Chee Technopark,

Its now BTU -->RB250GS--> Asus N16 --> Cisco AP 1225G --> PC.

Things that I might do if I am TU LAN

1.replace the Asus N16 with a Cisco 26xx (the 2611 with FREE IOS) for establishing PPPOE connection
2. replace the Asus N16 with a Cisco VLAN Manageable switch - i know the 37xx does it, but it cost a BOMB....any suggestion people? for .500 tagging and un tagging.

Utorrent (MAC) is now at 1881 kb/s - not too bad smile.gif - i am on VIP20

a big thanks to KLSEET!!!!
*
Wah bro, your setup quite complicated la... may i know what's that Cisco AP doing? N16 can be AP also right?

I might be wrong, I have Asus RT-N10 & N12, I noticed both units the stock standard firmware really unstable, especially during heavy down/up loading & online gaming....
I tried to play around the Qos, the result doesn't seem to improve, in fact worst!

Eventually I flashed N12 with dd-wrt, no more such problem, it works like my other dd-wrt routers as expected!

However, I do notice both N10 & N12 rather stable when configure to run on bridging mode even on stock firmware, this might be due to the Broadcom chipset I guess....

I'm not sure N16, but my guess the stock firmware could be the reason you "feel" slower internet.
You may want to try another router [without the Cisco first] to determine whether it's the N16 or Cisco problem... hmm.gif

One thing to note, when you upgrade the FW... the update status is near top of the screen. I'm on netbook so screen was small. I upgraded and screen doesn't change. I thot nothing happened! I tried another go... and this time scroll all over and saw the status at top! Luckily it works!
