I must say thx to Tentris for alerting the right channels. Lets hope now something can be done about it.
It's one thing when the user does something stupid that leaves themselves open to attacks (like setting dmz or what not); but it's different when your isp treats your security as if it is of no consequence to them, that is bollocks.
I too wonder why there has not been any group law suits against them for exposing our networks needlessly, if anything like this happened in any western country, there would be heavy fines or what not
And remember, it's not just home users who are affected by this, but businesses as well who have a lot more to lose
Anyway other than that issue mentioned above, my Unifi 10 mbps is doing pretty well
From what i can see, TM is responding to this. The fact that the news hit my blog (10,000 pageviews a day), then also featured on MT (lol 1 million pageviews a day?), means that they can't ignore the problem. They must respond. It's one thing when the user does something stupid that leaves themselves open to attacks (like setting dmz or what not); but it's different when your isp treats your security as if it is of no consequence to them, that is bollocks.

The VP for Corporate Affairs has told me that their Tech team is looking into it now, and have some preliminary findings (i've shared this privately with riz -- i want TM to engage riz directly, acknowledge his work, and damnit, even reward him for it). We'll see what they do next.
