Are u using 3g to update?

ebay is a good source. I wanted a case similar to those Case Mate Barely There cases but wasn't prepared to fork up the USD20 or so. I got one off ebay for USD3.00 inclusive of screen protector. Arrived within a week, free shipping somemore.

Not suprising as the reviewer had review and experienced many phones. As per my initial 2 days with the Galaxy S, I reported here in this thread my experience saying the Galaxy S is the most laggy and slow response phone I have used compared to Nexus and HTC HD2 ( Froyo).

The lagginess and not so smooth scrolling in the Galaxy S is very very obvious once you compare it to the other 2 phones I have used. However after install OCLF, it is very much better. Programs launched close to immediate and scrolling has improved but it still loses out to file access speed compared to the Nexus and HD2 ( Froyo) which is almost instant

Have any of you experienced problem with the 3G video calls? I get broken video image whenever I make 3G calls, while the other party able to see mine just fine.

Is it time to reformat the device? Just got it for < 1 month.

Oh ya, I guess I'm the lucky few that don't have A-GPS locking problem.

Mine can't read those Chinese characters as well.

Is yours stock? Not sure if it has anything to do with the FW version.

The video shown on my SGS is broken, like if a video file is broken when you play it on PC, the picture was in banding of horizontal rows. Difficult to explain without a picture, but I can't screencap/record it either.

Just imagine it's like trying to play a broken mpeg4 video file on PC. Quite similar to that. But the voice was ok though, just video broken.

Aside from that, do you get pretty weak reception during calls? Most of the time, the other party was difficult to hear me either. I could blame this on reception, but if I'd to compare to my older phones, it seems to be appearing on this new phone.

Another thing would be the rather weak Wifi signal, at least as compared to HTC Desire. Not sure how many having the same problems like mine. 

have you test the front facing camera without video calling, from Camera you can choose self shot, see whether the front camera is working or not

i'm a 3 weeks owner of SGS and thinking of doing lag fix. upon trying to go into recovery mode, i just found my phone is one among the many unit worldwide that cannot get into recovery mode.

i know there are various method on the net e.g via adb recovery, but just to ask whether any of you here experience the same as me.

has it been discussed here before? sorry didn't go through all post in this forum, so many post  already !!

anybody can advice me on how is the other easiest method to perform recovery? my firmware is DXJG4, is this the latest?

i fear that unable to go into recovery mode, if anything happen in the future (firmware crash, corrupt etc2) i can't recover my phone back.
