Anyone getting random connection deaths?

So far I have no problems in using the line, but occasionally the internet will die even though my router status is connected. Have to disconnect and reconnect manually to fix the issue.

Happens in like two-three days once.

i saw someone post using custom router on maxis ftth b4...

Using Custom Router instead Thompson router

ps: this is apply to highrise installation only...
*
the problem with this setup is you still need to use the thomson router for voip phone

i need the voip phone to be functional at all time

so it'll be back to square one!

I switch off my modems when I am not at home. Anyone of you have experience that when you switch on the Thomson modem, you have to wait for at least 10 minutes before it is up and configured itself properly?

Everytime I on the Thomson maxis modem, I have to wait for at least 10 mins before I can use the connection. The TM Modem on the other hand, is up within seconds.
*
is it? die lah like that

i'll off it every now and then... wait 10 minutes? worst than streamyx, 1 minutes oso cannot tahan oledi!

Added on June 27, 2012, 9:48 pmI dunno about you guys but my Thomson router reboots a few times already today. This even after I've called Maxis and they came and changed a new router last Monday.

How come some guys kena some guys not?

Does it have to do whether u r landed properties or high rise, since the setup is different?

If the problem is Thomson router, how come some guys no such problem?

Seems like not very interesting.

The fibre infrastructure that supposedly belong to TM, is actually heavily sponsored by the govt....FYI.... :-)
That shows you how the current government has wasted the rakyat money, giving the infrastructure to a sub-standard GLC.

It's NOT heavily sponsored by government, it's sponsored by rakyat, it's public fund the govt is using, not their father or the ministers own money... and then contract goes to cronies... that is why service is sub-standard!

Not only that, those working in GLC has this govt-like attitude(gaji tiap2 bulan mau, kerja MALAS, kursus sana, kursus sini)... if not can you explain why you those idiots went to some money-wasting kursus when you supposed to have appointment?

Before the Selangor govt was taken over, I happened to meet someone from Selangor Jabatan Air in the ariplane to Guangzhou, attending some kursus. And told me they are more coming in another flight. Ask him what kursus, cannot even answer.

Kursus makan angin di Guangzhou lah tu... whole Jabatan Air going... WTF!@

nope....high rise using vdsl which runs still on copper where landed is pure fiber

copper still susceptible to interference and signal loss hence the higher latency
