I'm sure you guys have heard the battery conditioning tip before, run it close to death and recharge for a few times and see how it is after a few rounds.

Before that... get more micro USB cables to charge in the office and in the car.

Turn off 3g when you don't need fast data transfers.thats the most common thing to try.

This helps a little, but still the battery life barely survive for a day when 3G is off. i will try the trick for the recharge method though. Meanwhile, does anyone know if the device can input chinese character? So far i see only English input..

Go to Marketplace and download 'Chinese SMS' (buy/try) and/or 'Free Chinese SMS' (free) apps.

It's a common smartphone battery issue.. I haven't found any smartphone that can last more than a day with heavy usage. In my experience, iPhone 3GS has the worst battery. 1500mAh capacity is insufficient. but 2000mAh battery is too big. You have to live with that. The only few things you can do are turning the auto-brightness (if it has that function) and set the brightness to the lowest. turn off HSDPA connection, use 3G instead. turn off wifi etc

Unfortunately WP7 doesn't have a MAXIMUM brightness for auto brightness unlike the iOS. It has auto brightness, but it switches between 0 ~ 100% so doesn't help much if you're always in bright areas.

As mentioned by most ppl, smartphones use more power. I myself nearly killed my phone by watching too much Halo Waypoint videos on 3G yesterday. Just make it a habit of keeping it plugged in when you can by buying more cables to connect your phone (remember, only USB Micro cable will do) and also.. car chargers (Try and get something that's meant for the iPad, those usually put out 2A of current its possible to charge faster)

Not sure if you have discussed/reported on this issue. the level of ringtones sounds / notification in HD7. i think it's too low/soft for me, even i jacked up the volume to max. if I compared it with iPhone4, even the default SMS sound it louder. not sure if this software or hardware side. anyone, exp. this behaviour?

Its because all the tones that are built into the phone are the soft and mellow type... wish they at least put something that screams "Pick up your phone now!"

I think ATM still no apps that can track your data usage. Its better to sign a data plan.
Btw, I'm using hd7 to post and I'm pretty impressed the keyboard respond is really accurate.
Still explorering...

I'm steering clear of the HD7 because it's got camera and antennagate issues.

Yes, so does Iphone, samsung, blackberry, and practically everyone else making smartphones on the planet. In HD7's case, it wasn't actually documented that you entirely dropped calls when you grip the bottom part (where the antenna is located). Most evidence seems to come from a single youtube video. Most non pro-iphone or pro-android site noticed that straight away, of course pro sites just adds it to the list of why you shouldn't buy WP7.

What differs everyone else from Apple's very own Iphone, and why antennagate was so very prominent on that platform was sometimes it took just one finger to short the antenna (Finger of Death?).

Even then, as an Iphone 4 user, factor in the universally problematic reception faced by Americans from their services, since I never had any antennagate issue from teh Iphone 4 (Using Celcom).
